Haitian gang leader Jimmy “Barbecue” Cherizier, who has acted as a spokesperson for the gang alliance, said that he would not accept the presence of Kenyan police troops in Haitian territory. Jimmy Cherizier was seen leading a couple dozen rifle-hoisting followers whose faces were obscured by hoods or balaclavas. Meanwhile, the elite Kenyan Police Unit which is leading the international peacekeeping mission in Haiti has begun patrolling the streets of capital Port-Au-Prince. On the other hand, the armed gangs have declared war on the Kenyan forces calling them “invaders” of the Caribbean nation. At the same time, Haiti’s Prime Minister Gary Conille visited the United States after Washington promised to provide more funds and support to the Kenya-led international peacekeeping mission.

With fire. Unlike in Kenyan cities where everything is built of stone and thus burning buildings isn't a feasable way to combat troops. In Kenya most buildings have a wooden frame thus making them combustable. There's a difference between having a full military as backup in a war and having to deal with police actions with a very limited amount of troops on the other side of the world from your home country. I'd imagine the gangs will not engage in direct warfare and this will end in about 6 months after negotiations and payoffs to the gangs.
