I just picked up my 12 today in the gray and hi vis yellow and I is incredible!! I have the 11 pro and it feels lighter on my head. Really excited. I appreciate seeing how to change the shield before I tried doing it. Thanks for a great review

I have a HJC I90. Really hope to get to your store to check out and try on some Shoei and Arai helmets this summer!
With that HJC logo in the front, I saw one loose and broken in a helmet store. Its only glued on. I then went back to look at Shoei's.
HJC makes a nice helmet IMO. Shoei is the overall leader in quality for the helmet industry. - Van
I have an HJC RPHA 11 that I picked up on sale 3 years ago. It is a good helmet for the price I paid, but I have two issues with it:
1. The visor slams shut even at low speed. Has been doing it even when the helmet was relatively new. I don’t know whether HJC has addressed this with the RPHA 12.
2. The red emergency cheek pad removal tab covers the full width of the bottom of the cheek pad (as opposed to say an Arai, where the tab is smaller and only attached to the outside of the pad). The inside seam of the tab rubs the side of my face when I remove the helmet and causes skin irritation. I see the RPHA 12 still has the same layout.
I have a couple of 11's that I rode in quite a bit. Personally I never ride with the shield open at all so I could not comment on the first point. As for the second I did not experience any issues with the emergency release pull with this helmet. - Van

Great review as always Van. 👍🏾I gotta say that I was really looking forward to getting this as my back up helmet to my RF1400 but I am really disappointed in their lack of ECE certification. As the successor to the RPHA 11 pro, the lack of a certification seems like a downgrade and a major fail on HJC IMO🫤. I hope they change this in future but for now I’ll look forward. I wonder if Scorpion is coming out with a successor to Exo R1 but for now I think I’ll just stay tuned.🫤
I am also bummed to see the 12 does not have the ECE cert now. My understanding is it does in Europe and will here in the fall. Not sure if Scorpion will be replacing the R1 Air this year or not. Thanks for watching! - Van
Surprise that all reviews say that there is noise. I was told at a local dealer who was trying to sell me on it that its VERY quiet! Now it has me guessing. Maybe i should stick to my original idea of just going with the Bell Qualifier DLX for cheaper since i was only looking into this one because they its supposed to be quiet but not in the Shoei price range.
Just spotted we can get these in the UK now 💪 I had a RPHA10 & 11 both in medium - absolutely loved them but went through visors like you wouldn't believe (poor design & crack constantly). The RPHA1 seemed to cure the visor lock issue but they changed the shape so they don't fit me 😭 do these fit like the 1 or the 10/11? (I'm hoping they're just a refined version of the 11 rather than a ground-up rebuild)
The fit of this helmet is closer to the RPHA 11 Pro IMO. It does run a little tighter than the 11. - Van

Definitely not as inspiring looking as the previous generation rpha 11... not even close. But, yes... you do great work on these deep diving reviews, Ps. Good to see 👀 you keeping fit n that gym. Your shirt sleeves are maxed out, brother. 💪

are the ear holes enlarged from the 11, because that was my biggest problem. I couldnt fit my syphon pros without it pressing on my ears.
Question: commuter mountain roads in Mallorca - looking for my new helmet. HJC RPHA12 versus Scorpion Exo Air 1400? In the near future I want to do a track day course to learn, as not a track in Mallorca but the mountain roads here are treated like track days on Sunday.
In terms of fit - does it fit similar to the RPHA 11? I owned an RPHA 11 for 2 years, fit great on my head - wonder if it fits the same.
The interior shape is similar but the 12 runs a touch smaller than the 11. - Van
I'm stuck between RPHA 12 and RPHA 71. Which do you think is the least noisy helmet for a maxi scooter?
Hi , looking to update my helmet, have been using rpha11 for t-days and commuting ~4 years, as RPHA 11 did fit great, possible update would be rpha12.
In similar price range there is also nexx x3r, what would STG recommend, HJC, Nexx or maybe something different ?
So you think this is basically up to snell/ece standards it just didn’t go through the testing on time?

RPHA 11/12 are great lids, over priced now though.
DOT/Snell rating isn't worth anything only in the USA, this lid passes the higher ACU Gold approval & is approved for racing worldwide, hence on par with any top level Shoei / Arai lid.
Everything is overpriced now. We are in the US so our focus would be certs recognized here. Importing this one to the US without our certs hurt sales and was a mistake. This is a good helmet. - Van
better buy china copy helmet 😂😂😂 if you are having problem on pricing those new helmet 😂😂😂 trust ive seen copy looks good but question alot in quality 😂😂😂
