Hi Rob, I have checked the working order of these heated windscreens for you on my sierra cosworth. When the key put to ignition you can switch the rear heated window on. And also off again. So no timer there. The switch for the front heated window can only be activated when the engine is running. Hope this can be of any help for you. Keep up the good work! Cheers Wim
And something else that caught my attention. In the clip were you run the car through these curved roads, everytime you accelerate there is a weird whispering noise for a few seconds. I hope this is not the turbo which is on its way out...
Hi Rob, I have searched for you in some electronic diagrams. The rear heated window switch activates a timer relay. This relay than activates the power switch relay to the heated rear window. The 'strange' connector you were refering to in this movie is properly a heated washer jet for the screenwipers. Although it is strange that it is in serie with the heated window switch. I have a different diagram than the one you uses where these heated jets are powered from the timer relay.
@@wimw.8637 thank you for the help👍, I have found another wiring diagram online showing the timer? When I did e search for that timer relay it looked like the red one in front of the ignition relay, The whistling vibrating noise is my dash cam? I did manage to stop it for a bit with some blue tack.
The sound of this cossie going up and down through the rev range is just something else 👌
Thanks again John, I always love driving it.

Hi mate, great video 📹 hopefully you get to the bottom of it without pulling the hole car to bits, lol 😮
Thanks Gaz, I have a couple of things to try first before I start ripping out too much.
Have you tried front screen with engine running think it works of alternator
Thank you David, I will try that and put it in the next video.
Annoying problem, I currently have the same issue with my Focus ST. Need to find some time to test everything.
Thank you Stephen, I just hope I do not have to take out the dash, I will keep you updated.
I think mine could be a be a break in the wire where it goes through or around the bulkhead@@RobsSierraCosworth
It’s good to see you working on the car and I can see your enjoying the driving experience 👍
Thank you@@mrnathc , I need some motivation to work on it when I can go and just drive it.
@@StephenH-ms9og I am thinking bad earth or rear heated window timing rely.
