love what you are doing to your truck.. the flicker can be eliminated with a load resistor. That is what I had to do with my 2018.. also consider installing switchback bulbs in your turn signals. That way all your lights in the front would be white.....keep up the build..
We deal with this type of situation everyday and it’s a simple fix. You should add one 6ohm 50watt load resistor on each sides turn signal circuit. The car will see the correct amount of resistance and the hyper flashing will be corrected.
I put a resistor on my tail lights didn’t work it was working normally without it I have the hyper flash on my dashboard that’s the only thing there’s nothing on that front lights or taillights turn signal wise but how do you fix the dash for hyper flash
Jeffery Zimmerly .. Did you install the load resistors correctly (one side to chassis ground and other side to turn signal positive wire)? If you have upgraded to LED’s on both the front and back of the vehicle you need a different value of resistor on each circuit. You may have a defective load resistor, they get very hot and have a tendency to fail. Also, you may need canbus error eliminators. It’s rare but they can sometimes be required, especially on European vehicles.
That's why I went with super nova v4's, the Canbus unit is built into the driver, also fits into the housing. Headlight revolution also sends you bigger dust caps for the back of the housing.
@My name is Steve Rogers Yeah, this is how they rip off lazy asses lol. People like us take 15min of our time to save $100+ I think of it as a pretty good return.
Just wanted to tell you I watched your channel about your truck, Thanks for your info. I have a 2018 f150 i just installed the Beamtechs J1 in low, high and no problems with them. ALso installed fog lights. Just wanted to say thanks for all your info on everything you do. Its a big help
Absolutely, least I could do. that's exactly what this is for. To know what works and what doesnt and any help I can provide along the way. Enjoy your truck!
On your left turn theres a short somewhere in the circuit, either somethings not making contact all the way or theres a short. Ran into this when i installed LED replacements for the turn indicators. The short is whats causing the hyperflash. Regardless, definitely invest in the resistors, its a tight fit but avoids hyperflash all together. I put Hikari 6k Cool White LEDs from Amazon into my build with the resistors, $220 all in, matches beautifully with the Morimoto fogs
Maybe someone already told you about the fast signaling that you had but there’s nothing to do with your new led light bulbs. It was one of your left signal light was out.
Do not add any resistors get forscan and disable bulb out detection and enable Bambi mode you’ll be able to run highbeams low beams and fogs at the same time
I know this is a little late, but I bet the hyper-flash on the left side is because that's where you hooked in your Raptor-style LED grille lights. I bet a resistor below that connector on that side would fix the issue. Plus resistors are like 10 bucks. And sweet truck BTW!
Thanks man! But it was actually because I had that hooked up and because I didnt have the wires hooked up for the planks. After undoing the raptor lights and hooking up the planks they both now come on amber then go to white.
Not sure why everyone is still suggesting resistors etc. The simplest fix is to replace the relay with an led style inexpensive relay that you simply swap out with the one that handles the turn signals.
Forscan works wonders for the lights problem. and if you want your turn signal to not just be amber and have all white low beam high beam and DRL turn signal i would get some switchback LEDs so the head light housing is all white when you flick your high beams on got some cheap ones on amazon work great also put the raptor lights in just by installing some orange marker lights at the top of the grill and was only 10 dollars for the lights and some wire to wire them into the turn signal. that might be why your getting your hyper flash on one side from your raptor lights being plugged in to your turn signal.
I put Race Sport Gen 3 H11 LED lights in my 2018 F150 halogen equipped truck 30,000 miles ago, and my DRL and turn signals work just fine. No issues, and they are bright as hell. Something was wrong with this guy’s truck, lamps or installation.
Well that's great man! However needing resistors sometimes is a FACT. If you are unaware of that dont guess as to what the issue could be. That's why they make them, that's why a lot of companys include them with their bulbs and why there is a TON of information on it.
Am I correct in understanding that you have not swapped out the turn signal bulbs to LED? Because if you did then this completely makes sense, but if this is the result of ONLY swapping the actual headlight bulbs, that's definitely super weird and my truck had no such issue swapping from halogen to GTR CSP mini low beams...
There is probably one bulb that marginally draws enough current to fool the BCM. Should be able to fix it with Forscan, and just turn off bulb outage detect.
I even knew that you could do that and never crossed my mind lol i appreciate it! It just seems odd that 2 sets each the same bulb and yet only one side does it.
WickedF150 The LED detect still won’t completely solve that I’m guessing. You’ll get intermittent flicker without canbus modules. Get the modules! I went thru this on my 19 f250. It sucked. The end. Lol
Question. I bought a 2018 f150 with halogen housing however, the guy I got the truck from had projector housings that had a LED turn signal but halogen bulbs in the low beam projectors. My question is can you put those LED bulbs in those high/low beam slots with that new housing that's fitted fir halogen? It has these rubber caps that go over the bulbs I'd that makes any sense. I don't think that large backs on the LED bulbs would fit with that rubber cap on let alone dissipate heat.
I have a 2018 f150 stx and it does the same flicker, one side being faster than the other, but I haven’t changed the bulbs at all. They are still factory halogen. I think the distinct flicker is to help identify one side is left and the other right.
This is exactly why I'm picky AF as far as what modifications I make to my F150. That's a manufacturing flaw, plain and simple. The manufacturer knew damn well that issue existed when they produced those lights, but in the interest of cost, they decided not to deal with it in the manufacturing process. Those LED's are probably marketed as "plug and play" which is total bullshit. I would definitely be having a WTF conversation with the vendor after seeing that issue with the turn signals. There's a lot of decent aftermarket modification parts on the market, but my 30 years as repair tech has seen a lot of aftermarket junk cause a lot of unnecessary problems on numerous vehicles. People should definitely appreciate this video though, because it's a good indication of what you should be asking an aftermarket vendor about if you're considering an LED upgrade for your F150. Anything marketed as "plug and play" should be exactly that. If any aftermarket manufacturer or vendor can't give you a clear, concise answer about their products, and how well they fit or integrate into your vehicle's onboard systems, look elsewhere. Salespeople are exactly that. Avoid the ones that know very little about what they're actually selling.
It looks high because of the slant of the driveway, the truck is angled up lol I checked the pattern the day after install and they are good to go. Actually thought about going up a few inches but left it be for the small cars lol

Headlightrevolution.com will solve all your problems. They do vehicle specific testing on hundreds of led bulbs to see what works for that particular headlight housing for fitment and most importantly, beam pattern.so you arent blinding oncoming traffic with glare. Not every led will work the same in every headlight housing. They have specific leds that will work the best and fit the best for the newer f150's. They also have a UA-cam channel. They're legit.
