Yeah, the Griffin Gold is a real struggle to drink. As for this one, you can try it yourself, I will bring you a bottle. The Bengal Lancer is far superior to this one. It's amazing what they write on bottles, I had one that claimed it was, "brewed with power!" 🤣
Fullers Bengal Lancer - Pale & Crystal with Fuggles & Golgings, sold out for a while now. Then out comes Fullers Griffin IPA with Pale & Crystal with Fuggles and Goldings. It's almost exactly the same ABV at 5.2% versus 5.3%. I feel that they are taking the piss with the recent beer launches, too. I have not ordered anything from them for a while now. A shame really because I liked some of their beers, too 😒
Yeah, I'm disappointed with their new beers, that it has put me off ordering their Winter Ale. I feel similar to yourself, that they are taking the piss. I would rather spend my money on beer from other breweries that deserve the business. Cheers Ben 👍🏻🍻🙂
Yeah, the name does hark back to the past, but Fuller's can be like that. The BL is a very nice beer, unfortunately the same can't be said about their latest offerings! 🙂
@@thebarmenreviews their winter ale was pretty good last time I had it. But it wasn't as good a winter ale as their porter or 1845, so figure that one out 🙃
That is what I was concerned about regarding the Winter Ale. Plus what they are charging for the Winter Ale compared to 1845 is crazy. Over the last few years I have noticed that money is becoming more to the fore and especially with their 2 latest beers the quality has dropped. 👍🏻
Thanks for the review👍yep silly label write ups drscribing beer😂yes i too hate smell of pine reminds me toilets so why have this smell taste in a beer yuck 🙄😳😡 Fullers gone downhill a lot in quality and taste sadly for years now used to be great ales ESB and london pride😞
@@FighterPilot1945 Yeah, the silly marketing spiel on the bottles is getting ridiculous and has little bearing on the beer. I agree, the smell and taste of pine is horrible in beer. I just don't see the attraction of it. Cheers 👍🏻

The business being sold comprises the entirety of Fuller’s beer, cider and soft drinks brewing and production, wine wholesaling, as well as the distribution thereof, and also includes the Griffin Brewery, Cornish Orchards, Dark Star Brewing and Nectar Imports (the “Fuller’s Beer Business” or the “Beer Business”).
@@FighterPilot1945 Yeah, the sale of Fuller's was another tragedy in the already many tragedies that has affected the British brewing industry. Too many good breweries lost to big conglomerate brewing companies that don't care about the product or the customer. With the loss of good ales and as a knock on the loss of good pubs, we are left with the dross. Crap beer, crap pubs and a crap attitude towards beer. There are some pubs that are an exception, but they are getting rarer every year. Cheers 🫤
The Griffin Gold you gave me to try felt a real chore to drink, the Bengal Lancer went down singing hymns !
The blurb on the labels is amusing though…

Probably a stealth rebrand cos bengal lancer sounded racist or something
