I live in the North Pennines and some of the Hadrian Border beers are usually available in the local supermarkets but for some reason and I can’t think what it is I’ve never tried them. Needless to say I’ll be heading of down the shop’s tomorrow. Thanks for enlightening me.
You are a lucky man being able to buy their beers from a supermarket. I can't vouch for the more craft beer versions, but their traditional ales are very nice. I hope you enjoy them. Cheers 🍻🙂
You and me both. But if I did a Carling video, more people would watch it. It's a crazy sad world we live in now! You live in Hull, have you seen these beers in your area? 🍻🙂
@thebarmen5640 Absolutely nothing but supermarket beers in Hull. Sometimes, I see the odd beer from the Great Newsome Brewery and Atom Brewery, but otherwise, it's the same crap in the shops. The off licences are mostly full of the usual piss, maybe the odd mainstream Polish beer. Who was the 3rd party that you used? I fancy giving these HB beers a try. With regards to your videos, I noticed over a year ago that you don't appear in search results very often at all. The others like Andys, All the Beer, Wraggy, or the long-haired lover seem to get pushed by UA-cam. I can't make sense of why they get so much love from UA-cam 🤔
@thebarmen5640 maybe it's the channel name? You could maybe add Beer Reviews to The Barmen to see if it helps. I use Rumble too, but I mostly watch on TV, so I have to use UA-cam, unfortunately
@@benbinks2012 Northumbrian Gifts or the Wobbly Duck are the third parties I used. You do pay a premium, but what can you do if the breweries don't ship their bottle products.
@@benbinks2012 That's they way things work on UA-cam. It might be worth it. Although, I'm not looking for more views, it's just the ratio of views. More people watch when I do a crap mainstream beer, but do a good less well known beer and only a few people watch it. To me that's sad.
Yes, unfortunately a lot of breweries in North England disappear without even a whimper. That's why it's important to support small breweries that are making really good beer. No point moaning about the standard of today's beer if we don't support the good breweries producing good beer. This brewery is definitely one of them. 🍻🙂
@thebarmenreviews they rely on cask for most of their sales & profits. They can't compete with big brands in the bottle market, plus beer drinkers aren't educated enough to pay extra for quality anyway. Most can't tell the difference between this & something cheap like Pedigree.
@JoeyMills-y3v I used to drink Pedigree back in the 80's and it was a treat. Its bland as Doombar nowadays. You're right that many breweries can't go down the bottling n canning route to survive..Cask will always rule for me👍😊🍺
@SlurpyDave254 I agree secondary fermentation in cask is what sets British beer apart from all others. In bottle you're getting almost a raw product. But that makes it easier to discern the quality of ingredients. It's mind boggling to me that anyone can taste a bottled taylors beer next to a bottled Marston beer & not know, immediately & with zero doubt, that the taylors beer contains higher quality ingredients. I've seen your channel & you know your beer, but the majority of beer drinkers do not. Look at hobgoblin, it started out as a strong, sweet, old peculier clone aimed at a younger audience, but is now a weak chemical soup. It has had its ABV reduced by 30% since introduction, & every ingredient has been either reduced in quality or replaced by artificial flavouring. It is undrinkable, yet still has a market. No other alcohol product could keep a market after such a reduction in quality, but beer can. You can't educate these people, sadly, they're just not intelligent.
@@JoeyMills-y3v I agree, many breweries do rely on cask as there main revenue stream. But with free-house pubs either closing or being bought up by big breweries, their market is getting smaller. Then we have the punters drinking macro lagers instead of real ale and a lot of these breweries are on a hiding to nothing. I am sure it's the love of brewing is what keeps them going. With all the technology available and millions being spent on research, the beer world hasn't come up with an alternative that is equal to or better than cask real ale. There is no product like it in the world and it's something we should be proud of in this country. 🍻🙂

I found the Tyneside Brown in the local Morrisons for 4 for £7 🥳🥳. Nectar. I’ll be back tomorrow but this time it’ll be 8 for£14.
@stvnkll You have won a watch with that price. It is a very nice beer and that price is worth every penny. Cheers 🍻🙂
Totally agree....the C word 'Carling' is very offensive to me, too 😂

Been a lot of good small breweries up that way but they tend to disappear in the blink of an eye. Elland, Mordue & Cropton 3 recent examples.
