Second time using the OC gravity pit and it was great on its first use, but didn’t understand how to get the temp to be consistent until after about 6 hours of cooking. The last 2 hours of my first cook the temp was pretty steady. My second cook used the BBQ guru and it was AWESOME!!!! Cook a hole chicken and a bunch of leg quarters. The guru is the absolute truth. It’s a little costly, but it will make a difference in your experience with your pit. I definitely give it 2 thumbs up.
Thanks for putting this video together. I was informative. I've purchased a few OC pits and you have to inspect them before purchasing or at least know that you might have to so some sealing but I've been totally happy with mine. I'm just waiting for this one to get back in stock.
The grease was really the only surprise and I don’t have any other issues. The gaskets are great and the latches are great. I think overall the quality on the gravity smoker is solid and the seal around the edge was easily fixed.
Hey fellow Alabamian and insulated vertical smoker buddy! Cheers! Awesome video. Glad your sharing your experiences with the OC Grav feed. Don't see enough videos out there with them! I'd be curious to see your temp traces using the PartyQ if there are any. Also you triggered me showing that RO 2pack. In 2019 I was able to get 200 lbs or so of it on sale from Walmart. It lasted me 1.5 years or so lol. Not the best, but I miss it because of how expendable it was.
So with the guru are you starting the fire then closing the top and bottom hatch to let the fan do all the work? Or are you leaving the doors open for a bit?
Heyo! I noticed your heat entry box (the one on the right inside of the cook chamber) has a full seam. Mine only has spot welds with gaps. Did you seal that box as well with the rtv? Thanks
Hey JG, I just got my OC Gravity Fed. This will be my first cabinet style smoker. I've used offset and kettle. How do you clean your cabinet style smoker thanks
Hi thank you for the question. It’s a 1.5 inch NPT to 1 inch NPT adapter with BBQ Gurus CNC fitting. Ill upload a video on Friday for my next smoke showing it.

I use the Royal oak lump in red bag. The pieces are smaller so they did jammed in there and make less ash in the wood chamber

How much did you get this smoker for? I can’t find any information about them!
I see you modified your casters...if you don't mind me asking, where did you find those? Are they working OK for you?
So what is that adapter you put on the ball valve where the air intake is? Does it have a fan or something? How complicated to install? Thank you. 🍻
