The Dude Each have their merits. Brazos is a solid buy if that’s what you’re in the market for. I’d treat them both like separate but similar tools that are both capable of equally decent BBQ.
Most of the competition guys use the guru fans to get quicker heat up on starts on the gravity smokers. Mixon pretty much says they are required and it’s not for regulating once you are up at temp since once the ball valve is dialed in it will stay pretty solid. Mainly useful for starts and recovery when you open door.
Start up is painfully slow for sure. Using the larger wood for this one didn’t help as drastically as I thought it would so an adapter to use my PartyQ is my next purchase. Recovery after opening the door wasn’t so bad - took 15 mins. When I resumed the video, i had let the biscuits cook for 45. Thanks for watching and the comment!
I just picked mine up today. turn the grade at bottom of shoot upside down that there are 3 little pars you can slide your Firestarter into to lit the pit.
Kris Bruu Academy only right now. There were production issues due to Covid but last I heard more were going out. I believe it’ll show up on academies website again shortly. Price is $1300 pre tax.
Thanks for the videos, trying to decide on either the gravity fed or the Brazos stick burner.

Love the videos. Just ordered my own from Academy. Do you have a link for those casters?

Can you tell us what the caster dimensions are or maybe a model number.
What casters did you get?
Have you installed an analog thermostat yet?
where did you get the casters from?
Can you cold smoke on this?
what casters did you use?
Where can I buy one of these? What is the price?
