Just finished the book. Lots going on. I am not sure if I understand but it sure is interesting. I would recommend Kafta on the shore by this author.

I quite like that pleasantly bewildered feeling I have after reading a Murakami book.
Nice review. Love the way you held the book up the whole time!

The ear-thing is something you will see in many of Murakami's books. I guess he has a thing for them :P As for recommendations: The Wind-up Bird Chronicle!

Great review. I reckon you'd love 'Hardboiled wonderland and the end of the world' by Haruki Murakami. I've read all his books and it's my favourite.

I might be late to the party here but I recommend you check out dance dance dance, it’s the direct sequel to this book and is a favourite among many fans. Wraps the story up nicely !

Thanks so much for your review! Short, to the point and simple. Just the way I enjoy them.

Great review. I haven't read all of Murakmi's books but South of the Border, West of the Sun is one of my favourite books.
If you haven't tried her books, it might be worth you checking out Banana Yoshimoto. I don't think her books are as well known as Murakami's but I enjoy them. The most recent one I've read is The Lake and I liked it.

Thanks! I'll check out Yoshimoto. The description of The Lake sounds really interesting.

Awesome book review! I am halfway through the book and I was about to quit as I struggled so much with Murakami's style and the many digressions. But now I am eager to continue reading it :)

Btw. His writing style reminds me a bit of 'Rituals' by Dutch author Cees Nooteboom. So if you like Wild Sheep Chase, you might also want to look at this book.

Nice and calm review, even though I didn't like the book very much. To me it was kind of flat and draggy except for a few really nice moments. My favourite of Murakami is Norwegian Wood, I really recommend it!

I’ve read all his books and they are all 4 star or higher. He is like S King to me

He used a lot of metaphor and analogy, and I think you just missed it.
