You've got some mad skills!! Keep up the great work - you inspire us slackers :)
Fantastic job, well done with the inspiration of the seat cushion too
You are crazy good at replicating the Warthog! Thanks for making such outstanding vids showing your process.
This is insane! I watched all your videos up to this point in a row. Unbelievable!!! You are a champion!
That’s insane mate. Great attention to detail. Awesome work.
Awesome work dude! Love the artistic lisence and ingenuity. Inspires me to keep building! 👍
Your attention to detail is top notch
Amazing fantastic attention to detail
Love the detail and using furniture pins to look like rivets, easy to do and so effective (thanks for the idea, will use on my next project) . Also until you said the canister was made of wood, it looked real to me.
Man you are really crazy - in the good and impressive way…. I stumbled across your channel and don’t even do flight simulators, but honestly wow !!!
Cat proof covers … fantastic. Great work
Dude, I was a crew chief on the A-10 and the F-16. That seat looked outstanding. Don't down vote your own skill.
Wow, that's just nuts. I'd be happy finding a chair where the swivel locks....
Great craftmanship!
Really impressive.
Holly smock! You went nuts! In the good sense.
Yes, excellent work. Your skill and attention to detail make this visually spot on with the real seat. I saw you even had the battery inspection window on right hand of the seat. Brings back lots of memories from when I would sit in one of these back in the 80s, when I maintained the Pave Penny system (TISL). I maintained A-10As at Myrtle Beach AFB (354 CRS) and Nellis AFB (57 CRS) and OA-10s and A-10As at Suwon AB Korea (6151 CAMS).
Hey Steve when were you at Nellis? I was with 57 EMS 88-92, Parachute Survival Equipment 😀
@@kenlanier2131 I was there from November 89 to September 90. I was overseas previously and extended long enough to get back stateside before being separated.
I’m an egress systems technician in the Usaf. If you need bits a pieces we often discard a lot of things I believe you might want for realism. Send me a message if there’s anything you’re looking for. We throw away the black wool cushions all the time if you would like replacement cushions
Thanks for sharing. Just building mine with some little changes to make it Viper look like :)
Amazing job, an amazing web site !!!
just wow!
Cool, making the same thing basically :) with some minor differences. But for a FA18. Great to see some ideas, im just in the idea-phase and just finished a rough base to try and fit parts on. Will be making compromises like you did for comfort. No fun to play when its uncomfy as hell :D GREAT JOB
Nice work.
For the butt kicker, if you want more feeling but not right on your butt, on your frame mount 1"-2" stand off posts that a metal or playwood baord/plate bolts to. Mount the the kicker to that. Should put the vibrations right into the frame of your seat. The more taught the strapping, the more it might transfer that vibration. another thought on the side of the plate the butt kicker mounts is to aput a thin flat plat mount on a spring(s). So when you sit it gives way for comfort, yet your rear is in contact with butt kicker surface. Without weight applied to it, it would rattle like crazy though.
Your motivated man.
Amazing work!
Where did you get the plans for the seat?
Hey man, I've been following this project for a while and am very impressed! I was wondering if you could give me the measurements of the seat cushion. I'm about to pull the trigger on one myself but want to confirm if it fits on my current seat. Keep up the good work!
damn this is cool
Outstanding. Is there a link to where you purchased the plans from?
"It's not something the a-10 has but i like it."
Hi there, I'm new to your videos, and very inspired by your project. You mentioned a viper pit guy that sells the decals you use - after a ton of googling I can't find anything, would you mind throwing up a link? Thanks much!
i need this guys ingenuity and salary.
Looks cool, but i see that you have original TM Base- its cheep plastic, i high recomend change it to BRD base - metal.
The forum link in your description is broken, please fix!
Have been following your pit and website, appreciate all your sharing. Just curious do you have a background in the electrical or fabrication side of this ? Or just learning as you go along ? Thanks !
Learn as i go. Masters at UA-cam University!
Amazing work! The detail you put into the ACES II Seat is right on. I was a Rigger stationed at Nellis AFB 88-92 and have packed my share of seats. I cant believe you even had the compartment for the drogue chute in the rear of the seat. Well done!!! Curious what your professional background is? I
Is this the same seat that's in the f16?
skatking83 Yes the aces2 is in f15, a10, f16, f117, b1, b2, and I think the f22 but that plane came after my time 😀
I’m learning how to pack the aces 2 right now however I’m going to a C-130 base so I’ll pack the BA-22 but if the need arises I’ll be able to pack it
@@Mustang6971 Are you in Tech School? I went through tech school way back in 1989 at Chanute AFB before they close the base in 93. Was stationed at Nellis AFB, exposed to all kinds of chutes. We even picked a Pararescue Squadron (66 ARS) had to learn the T-10, and MT-1XX chutes went to Fort Lee for that. Long time ago now, sure do miss them old days. Good luck to you Rhino6769
@@kenlanier2131 yes I'm about to graduate I'm a Sheppard AFB for that's where they tech us these days, and thanks from what I've seen you helped set a tradition of great riggers.
Very Nice!!! I like the thought of the Ford Seat mechanism. How much "feel" did you lose when attaching the Butt Kicker to the bottom plate VS. the bottom of the seat? Would you recommend 2 butt kickers for the seat? 1 for the bottom and 1 for the back?
Lost a lot of power moving it, but I have since relocated it to the side of the seat and it's much better now. I wouldn't run two buttkickers, I'd rather use the same money to buy a jetseat instead. I've heard good things about those...
Hi. Fantastic work!!! Where did you get the oxygen bottle?
It's wood with stickers on it. His dad turned it for him and he painted it and printed some of the stickers, some he bought.
I wonder if the build plan for this seat is also available in your downloadable content? Best regards from Germany
edit: I went through the content txt file, obviously there is no seat build plan, I think because of intellectual property.
Is there any other way to get such a plan?
Sir, working on building a similar A10c pit with my son and we have run into an issue in DCS. We can't find the Arduino sketch to make our seat ejection handles work in DCS. We got the arming lever to work but DCS-Bios doesn't show a sketch for the ejection handles themselves. Would you mind sharing how you accomplished this? Thanks
I had the same issue! I didn't use DCS BIOS for the eject command, instead I used Helios to send a keypress matrix when the lever is pulled (ctl e 3 times).
Hello. Brilliant work!!!!!!!! May I ask where you got the oxygen bottle from?
it's wood. he says in the video it was made on a wood lathe...
Yep. Wood turned on a lathe and painted up. The details were all made from scrap plastic.
How many degrees offset do you have on joystick?
Wow you should be very proud of you talents. If I where you I would sale these sets. You would make a killing. 👍
Chris Gunter they aren’t his plans so he can’t sell them.
Really interested in that comment you made about the back cushion. You said it has a metal plate in it? I have an original bottom cushion from an F15 but not a back cushion. Are you able to expand on that a bit more mate? Or show us in a detailed video somehow? I know your super busy, but any insight would be great!
I’m looking at replicating some sheepskin cushions. I’m going to make them out of genuine materials and use the correct dynamic memory foam material for the bottom cushion but make it .5 inch thicker to comfort my boney arse!!
The seat back cushion has what feels like two strips of really thin aluminium sewn into the back of it. It can be bent and retains its shape, so the cushion does as well and it conforms to shape of the seat back.
The Warthog Project
Sweet dude. Good to have the info. 👍
Think I might have to trawl the web to get a back pad for myself to replicate it accurately.
If your interested in a more comfy sheep skin replica cushion let me know dude and send you some details. 👍
Keep the updates coming mate, makes good watching.
Is your simulator installed on the ground floor or 1st floor?
I have one question : where can I get such oxygen cylinder? I also constructed this seat based on same plans but I don't know where to obtain the oxygen bottle. Any advise?
he stated it is wood and was turned on a lathe to make it.
does it eject for real?
How can I contact you for a project?
Does it eject?
How far does it throw you in the air when you pull eject? Just kidding. You should take up powered paragliding and really get into the air. Your mad design skills could be useful in seat harness design, etc.
now add the rockets

United Gaming he has used to much Reddit. But don’t worry Matt. I’ve done the same!
I bet you crash deliberately to get you balls tickled. 🤣I would😉 fantastic building. Fantastic
You colud make it as a product for lazy people who have a lot of money ;)
Great build mate, fantastic attention to detail, no offence meant- but you clearly have no girlfriend/wife/friends. There's NO way you'd have the time, money or even energy if you had, let alone permission. 🤣
Yeah he said he sits in it for hours playing the game. I can't even get 45mins to play any games without her stepping in for something
I have thousands of hours in real jets.... and as many in real full motion sims. I actually find your sim exciting and just the kind of system I’d want for home use. I left aviation several years back, lost my medical... and now build custom homes. It’s 2:42 am and ended work and am winding down about 2 hours ago. Back to work at 8 am later this morning........ I can afford to pay someone to build something like this but to date non I’ve found have the same level of detail until I hit the $30k price point and even then, I don’t think they have the same attention to detail.
