This is the only dehumidifier I could find made today that has longer than a 1 year warranty (3 years). Frankly thats why I bought it. I've had 2 GEs that have died after about 2 years use apiece. Almost all the new ones seem made to fail
I'm not sure, but in the two dehumidifiers I've owned before this one I had the same ice issue. I replaced the temp sensor clamped to the coils and it fixed it, for a couple more seasons then it failed again. They don't make them like they used to.
Thanks for posting this. I recently bought a Pelonis dehumidifier and it is short cycling. I like your hack. Can you offer more details on where you obtained the fan and how it is powered?
I work in IT so I have a basement full of bits and parts from computers, ect. You can search for a 30mm X 30mm X 10mm 12v fan on Amazon and find quite a few. It's powered by a 12V 500ma wall wart power supply. Again, all over the place at Amazon. Just make sure it's AC to DC. So far the dehumidifier is working perfectly now. Only comes on when needed and stays off.

What kind of adapter do you use to connect the fan to the 500ma?
Is tha a computer fan ,how did you connect to 110.

Mine is identical and short cycling for two straight weeks. So good to know this isn’t just and isolated case. This is a poor design.
It stops every 10 minutes roughly, then after 15 seconds kicks back on. The humidity goes up about 10 degrees in that short time!!!
