I don't completely agree with his bar that "black lives matter is the stupidest name, because the system screws everyone exactly the same". I however, know what he meant, and I feel he should have cleaned it up a little bit to better understand what he meant. Tom knows the movement is valid 💯, but the corporation he doesn't like. The corporation amassed 90+ million dollars and did nothing with that money that they were supposed to do. It didn't go to any of the communities it was supposed to go to, they just lined their pockets. That's his issue. I will also have to say I don't totally agree with your stance either. Because to say all "white" people, or generalize all "white" people together and say "we" all get privileges is not correct at all. I grew up in a home that never had food, the house was full of holes, barely running water etc, my siblings and I had to raise ourselves, and nothing was handed to us. As I've grown, nothing had been handed to me. I don't EVER get what I want automatically just because my skin color, HOWEVER I do believe there is a privileged class of people and they are typically white! I will agree to that 100%. They are the Elites. So really each argument is valid! Anyway, please don't take this comment wrong in any way, and think I'm trying to start anything or be rude in any way, just voicing my views on his song, what I know he meant, and how I feel about what you said (which you have every right to say it, so don't think I'm saying you don't 🥰👍🏻). Anyway, also if you do his song(s) "if I was black", and "no lives matter" you'll get a better understanding how he feels. Tom and his girlfriend Nova were living in South Central, Los Angeles before his career took off and "the system" didn't treat them any differently because they are white living there. But they did see how black people were treated as well, and that's why he knows the movement its self if valid. Tom's music is to evoke the much needed conversations America needs right now. You definitely do not have to agree with him, you are right!!! Agreeing to disagree is a beautiful thing now days!! I love seeing people that are open to conversations!! @CooleyReacts oh my yes, it is, and I hate that it is rare. We all need to be able to see things from other people's perspectives. That is what I like about Tom's music, because he does do that. He is about unity and everyone coming together against the system, Elites, etc... not each other. You are right that we've always been divided, but Tom is also right in the fact that the media fanned the flame. (2020 was a heck of a year. Many videos are coming out from many perspectives of how a lot of the division was planned and formed by media fanning those flames 💯) Which all that made the division worse, and it sucks. The algorithms I may have seen with videos put in front of me, are different than the ones you or others may have seen etc. It's crazy what these little devices will do. Hence, the whole thing that Tom said about them with the "slavery" bar. Anyway, with all that said, again, thank you so very much for your reaction and willingness to have a conversation! That as well in its self is rare these days, as well! I really appreciate it!! 🙏🏻
@@cooleyreacts760 I also agree that he could have said it better. After listening to all of music I know he looks at it all through a bigger lens he actually articulates it better in other records. Basically when he said that line he wasn't taking away what black people have went through or what they are going through...He was saying the *System* (government, media, politicians, elites with an agenda are using the pain, suffering and narratives to cause division and inflame the population for their benefit. So that is how the System is screwing all of us the same.
No Lives Matter came out before this song, might give you better insight on what he really thinks. Awesome sharing your thoughts and experiences!

One thing you should know about Tom, he says things in a way that gets people talking. Like you, giving us your perspective, if he hadn't said that the way he did, you wouldn't have shared what you did. And I respect it.
Tom is an artist that has a very wide range.. "Dear Rappers" was the song that made him famous. But trust me when I say he understands your perspective too.

I subbed because I love your calm, but say what you think personality. I'm sending full respect your way! I used to be a total SJW, but about 5 years ago I started learning things that were outside of my lefty world. Lol I'm now an Independent voter & thinker. I read & watch all sides of issues now, & dayum, I've learned a ton!! If you've never heard of Tony Timpa, look him up. 😉 And if you've never heard of Thomas Sowell, listen to a few of his videos as well. Some really cops do this - I’ve seen it in person and in interrogation videos. I’m retired military and worked 20 years as a paralegal in the military crim law field. Our version of the FBI (CID for the army) would regularly go get take-out during long interviews and would also take the accused outside to smoke. This builds rapport making the bad guy feel comfortable and he will drop his guard a bit. This often results in the accused unintentionally giving info the cops.

I agree that the bar itself in isolation may be factually incorrect, but what I see is that we are all at different stages of the manipulation, and there's a reason for that: to create what we have now. Ask yourself why the whole world knows the name George Floyd but nobody has ever heard of Tony Timpa.
