My battery storage

- I keep my batteries in an ammo box which has worked out to be an excellent way to store them. I keep to name brands of batteries and buy in bulk & on special where I can to cut down the cost.
I NEVER buy Eveready batteries, my experience with them has been so bad my moto has become "never ever Eveready".
I use rechargable Sanyo Eneloop batteries for day to day use and highly recommend them. They now have a version for high drain devices and I use those in my high power flashlights, and I recommend these also.
Nice man! Batteries are often over looked, and I have to agree with you on the lithiums, holy crap they're like $7 each at the supermarket!
Cheers,
Sean.
that is a great answer and reason. i wish it could be that way for me, we are getting a full house generator one day so i will not need the D batteries for my big lanterns anymore, i guess they will be a show piece until i need them again one day.
A very good question. Two reasons:
1) for power outages of a week or longer. People don't realise how many batteries just running one torch night after night uses, I have a family of three.
2) For my volunteering. When the power goes out I will get called out. I have some gear like radios, and search torches that literally eat batteries. I won't be able to just go to the supermarket and buy more.
Thanks for the comment :)
Excellent question! Basically I don't have anything that uses C or D batteries. At the moment all my gear (except for my steripen which takes CR123's) use either AA or AAA batteries. Easier to source, less different types of batteries I have to stock up on.
Ultimately I'd like to be running all my gear on AA's, not sure I'll ever get there tho' :)
my only question is why no D or C batteries?
Funny cos' you're recommending lithiums in one of your vids. I recommend them too, just can't afford them :)
Why would you need so many batteries?
But then plain AA batteries are just a waste of money.. Why don't you buy external LiFe battery packs or something similar (higher capacity, lighter in wight, faste recharging, etc).
