So, here I am late night watching old/er Memphis Mike youtube videos, looking forward to some new ones, someday. Have a second Wing, bought a pan for it, watched your install, gonna knock mine out tomorrow. 1/2 to 3/4 beer install, guess I'll do it before my lawn work since that is a two beer minimum!
Nice, I put one on mine in 2014. Could only use the but part that protects for sure. The Front I could not use because of the Trike running board mounts. But really protects.
Have a 2018 Goldwing with a hole busted in the frame between where the center stand would mount. Flat piece of steel (maybe leaf spring) kicked up after the front wheel ran over it and on it’s way out it caved in the right side exhaust pipe and cover all before the first oil change. I would recommend one.Hope they will be making one for 18 and up.
Great belly pan, and simple installation. I found a lot of satisfaction peeling off that protective covering on it. Did not enjoy laying on my concrete garage floor, but that goes with the territory. Did give me a chance to clean the bottom of the bike too before I placed it on. Nice review and video!
Thanks to you, Dano and Wingstuff to make this video happen. Glad we have the added protection ourselves and have never had a problem with heat, the air flow works well. I leave the guard on when lifting the bike and even if it does bend the vents a little, there is still plenty of air flow and not worried about it. Looks like you definitely could use one with all those lower scrap marks. Ride on!
yeah got a little low on that one side! using the lift with it will be next...i am sure no issue....and if it does bend a louver, none to worry...my last belly pan was 100% flat anyway with NO vents! Thanks Greg.
Have the Macgyver belly pan. No problems with the jack, when I use it, lighter, aluminum will run cooler than the stainless steel, as far as heat retention. Both do their intended jobs. Thanks MM and DanO ❗️
Useful video Mike. My immediate observation was how tinny it looks and sounds as you were pulling it out of the packaging. To be fair any protection underneath is better than none but whether the pan is thick enough to protect against objects that could do catastrophic damage, so not stone chips, I'm not sure. Can't help but think that it needs to be thicker.
I have a solid belly pan and love it, but I live up north and don't spend as much time in super hot weather like a lot of you do so I can see how the vented pan is a great idea. You can see several marks and dents on mine, so it is a great protective accessory..
The Wingstuff belly pan was the first upgrade I did when I bought my 08 Wing last June. Why the previous owner didn’t install one is a mystery other than that fact that he seldom rode the bike. I am going to try to lift the bike today with my J&S jack. I’m a little hesitant but results will be TBD. I do think if the side mounting bolt access was slotted, the belly pan would be easier to install \ remove.
Mike heres a topic u can make a helpful video of. How to raise to centerstand. Cit 2 ;1x8s bout 10"long. Set suspension to 25. Place 1x in front of rear tire n drive bike up on the 1x. Place 2nd board under sidestand. Bike will sit there. Now raise wing up onto centerstand like normally would. U can slode board out once up on centerstand so u can roll rear tire to inspect it. If u got crippled legs this might work. for u. It does me. Jb
I have the exact belly pan in black. Just changed my clutch fluid and saw a number of peebles in the area. Without a belly pan these rocks and gravel would have hit the bottom of my coolant reservoir and possible puncture it.
Ha. I knew Dano must be close by. Good review Mike. I don't have a belly pan. Just the belly. ☺ Probably a good idea to consider it. Funny ending. Nice job.
Something hit the coolant reservoir on my first GL1800 and put a pencil size hole in it, I put a belly pan on it after that. I don't have one on my current gl1800. (yet)
@@MemphisMike901 It's a 2003 that just turned over 50K, it's in like new condition. I owned an 02 years ago and missed it after I sold it. I will turn 69 soon and have been retired for over 10 years now, I screw off all day every day and this virus thing has not changed my life much.
Yea zir thanks for that video , question - i saw on Traxxion Dynamics bout a case cover should be made protecting the motor casing behind the front wheel , if the motor casing ever gets damage by a rock , a whole motor maybe needed . As far as this cover shown , why would one need this cover for under the bike and can you still jack up the bike with the lift or do one has to remove the cover .
Had one on my 2007, also bought from our friends at Wingstuff. Rick and the gang are a good group of people. Also folks be careful with those acorn nuts. Snug is good enough the stripe easy. Just saying 😉
I was missing one of my plastic ones. Ran to hardware store and bought 4 SS Acorn Nuts to replace! Yeah Rick is a great guy. Had a phone conversation not long ago while he was driving to the Office!
Great video, however,, Looks like the front section does not line up on the sides,, kinda poor fit and finish around the front also , has a gap on both sides also looks like
Thanks MM, I’ve always thought about putting a belly pan on, never did but after reading all the comments about road pebbles or stones damaging I pulled the trigger, got one on order from Wingstuff. I was even reading the reviews on wingstuff that some of these guys with belly pans seem to get a smoother ride on the highway at higher speeds due to the airflow, if so that’s a bonus I guess! Have you heard this at all?
I need to get one for 2010. I also have a quick question for ya Mike. Where did you get your clutch and brake resivore covers? i really like the look of them and think they would really go well with the color of my Bike.
i bought them off AliExpress. tons of color options.. these actually have faded a little bit but the ones on my CB1100 have not. makes a nice little touch tho.
Great review, my brother, I use the same belly pan going over 2 years now and I must say, "It is my top 10 best investment I made for my bike". My J&S Jack Stand did leave an imprint on the belly pan after several lifts but this belly pan is still going strong on my Goldwing! Again, great review!
@@MemphisMike901 The J&S jack stand uses a support beam for (Goldwings only) that will leave an imprint after several lifts. I do not think other jack stands use a special bar specifically for the Goldwing. You should not have any problems with your Harbor Freight Jack Stand.
Nice video MM. I seen where you had a character blemish under the right side. Been laying that baby over in the turns have ya?! Lol I got one too. Hit a dip in the road while I had it laged over. What is the cost for a as piece? You know?
I believe Carnell said the Lift will make an imprint over a few lifts. I can live with that tho as I do not want to remove every time just to put bike on lift
I use Dunlop E4's..... good and bad....very hard compound and seem to get good life out of them....bad side...they seem to not grip the best in wet weather... i may try the Bridgestones next just to see..i am not a fan of Darkside personally as I have tried it for about 50 miles... not my thing.

Hey Memphis Mike, Thanks for this video! I am wanting to know if those two screws on the front piece of the belly pan ever gets loose? The ones that just turn a 1/4 turn to "Lock"? It seems the will vibrate and loosen up. I am needing to get a belly pan and I want a good one. Thank you!
MemphisMike Ok. I would love to see what happens after a few lifts. I currently have the aluminum pan. I’m thinking about upgrading to this one. I’ve had my eye on it for a while.
Easy install thanks Rick for sending it to Mike, about 20 min install half beer and got it done.
You need to drink faster! 😎
Great belly pan, I installed it on my 2015 Goldwing , looks great and protects the bike at the same time. Well worth the money
Good job Dan O! Mike, ahhh…. nice video! LOL Always enjoy the Memphis Mike video productions.

I just received mine from WingStuff yesterday. I will install it later today
