Very good video. Thank you. 👍 Also a tip for anyone who's like me and hasn't got the best memory: Get a notepad app' on your phone and make notes whilst listening to the video - now I feel confident to do this method because I've got all the steps listed and can follow my own instructions lol.
I use the narrow plastic bags from produce dept. at grocery store over handle grip buttons. Secure it to handle bars with zip ties or rubber bands. This will help prevent water from entering switches. Cheap fix. Cut length of bag down to fit this area better.
Great video. Additional comments to those already submitted. Use foam ear plugs when doing the air dryer. Makes the process more pleasant. Definitely use the shower setting on the hose around the control area. And that dryer works good getting all the water out around the switches. Don't forget to remove jewelry like bracelets before you start. I am going to get some of the grit guards for my buckets. Good idea!
Chris…. Your channel is costing me a small fortune. I bought every one of the items from your Amazon store that you demonstrated including the blower, with the exception of the Turtle Wax which I already have. I use a leaf blower to dry my bikes but it’s a marginal solution. And I really needed new towels, so…… why not?
@@cruisemansgarage …. Hi Chris, I finally had a chance to use the Sidekick after two-bucket washing my Harley this afternoon. Holy cow that thing has some power. It’s a high quality build item as well and I like the heavy duty on / off steel toggle switch. What pleasantly surprised me, was the warm air that blows out of it. That is a bonus for drying quickly. By the way, the towels you demonstrated, and I bought, are really good too. I barely needed one to finish wiping down the bike, but they are super high quality as well.
2 bucket idea has been my method for years they now say use 3 buckets as well as deionized water for even better results.. Try to always use a foam cannon to help lift the dirt particals of the bike. Some people like ststed also use a leaf blower.(works perfect) harborfreight has one with two speed settings (hi/low) with short oval nozzles as well included, useing air from a air compressor (low to mid setting on air volume) can also be used Remember the soap not the water does most of the cleaning so try to keep the bucket filled with lots of sudz . Btw i use 2 different microfiber towels whhen wasking the bike (one for upper and one for lower) and i use completely different towels for the wheels. Tip: use a permant marker to tag your towls that way you know what towl was used for what areas ,also if any of your washing and or drying towels for the body ever fall on the floor DO NOT use them again for washing or drying as dirt could have been embeded in the towel and can possibly scratch your paint.
Be very cautious using a blow dryer on your electronics, I have similar dryer I use on my Harleys and have taken out multiple radios over the year by getting water into the cd decks. In fact there is a cottage industry fixing Harley radios, Iron Cross audio, to repair radios guys like me break. ps Great video, tks for making.
Enjoyed the video a lot. Some good tips there but one thing I would like to see (or know) is how you clean the top face of the exhausts. Because the panniers are so close, I can barely get a rag in there.
Hello Chris, I just watched your two bucket video; what a good idea, one that I never thought of. It makes a lot of sense, thanks! BTW, what seat do you have on your bike! A Fellow Goldwing rider, Loyal.
Excellent Cruise. Thank you. An area of ownership easily taken for granted. If you value your investment in keeping it looking it’s best. Love the dirt traps. The blow dryer is a great tool for getting areas you can’t get to with the chamois. They do work!
On April 2, 2022 you do a great video on washing the windshield and dash. As the dash is very susceptible to scratches and even blotchy clouding from exposure to chemicals often found in cleaning products. Yet this video completely contradicts that video when you wash the bike.
I have been trying to watch your videos from the link which I saved. The link always worked fine until yesterday. I have been trying to email you and I just get messages that says email has been blocked. I don’t understand the problem. I can’t get a hold of anybody to help me. I used the email link that you had posted in the description of the video as well as going to your website to contact you. Just says email has been been blocked. I know this is not the place to discuss this but I’m hoping that you see this and can post some kind of a comment back to me where I can get a hold of you to rectify the situation. And for anyone thinking of buying the house maintenance series videos they are some of the best I’ve ever seen. I purchased the series February 4, 2021
I, too, wash my 2018 Goldwing's wheels first. So when I'm ready to wash the Goldwing entirely, I won't be on wet ground to finish my washing of my Goldwing.
As Dan Rahn said, wash the wheels first. I start with the rear wheel first; you lay down on a dry driveway while washing the wheel. Before rinsing, I wash the front cowl (located behind the front wheel, both front and underneath?)
Very good video. Thank you. 👍

Yes to ear plugs when blow drying and shower setting for rinsing. :)
Patience is a virtue....
Thanks for another helpful video Cruiseman....keep em coming 😊
Outstanding method. It’s the right way.
That air dryer is fantastic. I'm getting one for my garage.

Let me know what you think of the Sidekick blower. I even used it on our car the other day!

Wow- i haven’t washed my bike in 2 years…. Probably should get that done when it finally stops snowing here in. Wisconsin!!
So never?
OUTSTANDING " How To " videos Cruiseman
Excellent video and description. Who knew there could be so many necessary steps. Thanks for sharing.
The other comment is to NOT wear jeans (with scatchy rivits) and belt buckle while washing, wear sweat pants instead. And, no top with a zipper!

Great tips
I, too, use a foam gun for washing BOTH my car and 2018 Goldwing Tour DCT.
Good video, Ive generally have stopped using that method in favour of muckoff applications. Lots of rinsing and drying post muck off as you do.
Thanks so much. Exactly the video I was searching for.
Great Video Chris, I will start using the two bucket method.. I'm a sucker for NEW soaps , LOL.. Thanks a Ton for this Video..
Ace video, I live in Scotland, we don't have direct sunlight. 🙂
lol
Always good advice! Thank you!

Yes I did enjoy the video.
Nice job Chris
Looks good Chris, I like your procedure, the waffle cloth and the drier. I gotta buy something. :-)
Enjoyed the video a lot. Some good tips there but one thing I would like to see (or know) is how you clean the top face of the exhausts. Because the panniers are so close, I can barely get a rag in there.
Hello Chris,

FIRST TO SEE THIS? WOW!
Awesome Bob! You might go purchase a Lottery ticket now.

Seems to me that the yellow dirt trap would be preferable since it appears to have less surface area for the dirt to collect.
My brother said the same thing.
Good video. Any problems with Ultimate, RDL or other non-OEM seats. Seems they always recommend a cover?
Absolutely! They sure do.
Hello, do you still you the Sidekick Blaster? Do you still think it is a good investment? 🇨🇦
This was my first time to try it, but so far, I love it and plan to use it on every wash.
My 2022 bagger has a matte finish so what soap would you use.
Chemical Guys has a whole kit for matte paint. Wash, sealant, detail spray. No wax so it does not hurt your paint
Chris, I can't find the 'description'.
Description of items?
How do I obtain your do it yourself video ❓
On April 2, 2022 you do a great video on washing the windshield and dash. As the dash is very susceptible to scratches and even blotchy clouding from exposure to chemicals often found in cleaning products. Yet this video completely contradicts that video when you wash the bike.
The only chemical used on the windshield and dash in this video was a mild car wash solution, which will not cause any harm.
Can i Convert my honda goldwing from 2004 to 2015 body kit ??
Not sure about that because changes were made in 2012 that might cause issues.
@@cruisemansgarage thank you sir

If you're washing your bike to get ready for paint prep and ceramic coating, I wouldn't recommend using a wax based soap.

GoDaddy switched our email servers a few days ago, I wonder if that’s why? Try cdikmen@cruisemansgarage.com
Why not just wash wheels last?

All the Parts you cleaned are not the big problem - the problem are the wheels :) and the front of the motor engine
Test
7 minutes... just to get to the wash... Holy shit.
