I watched your video in the beginning of 2022, it was one of the videos which inspired me to take 10km ride on my kickscooter in May 2023 alongside the ocean.
I freiken love what you do. I use my scooter to go to work and now I am going to purchase a swifty mk3. This scooter has 16 inch wheels and all terrain tires that are used on bikes. These things are powerful.
I love this. I just bought a razor so i can scoot around the neighborhood with my kids and get some more exercise and its a ton of fun. I'm here thinking how exhausted you'll be at the end of the ride and then you still have a full day of work ahead of you!
50 miles is insane!!! I just bought a Razor A5 and was doubting how it would stand up to a 1-mile commute. This video has convinced me my Razor will last quite a while haha.
while razors are not the most durable, they do just fine for commuting, just dont try and do tricks and freestyle riding with one, but simply ''scooting'' to and from work, running errands, they do okay
@@marciep00 I think the A5 Razor or A5DLX Razor is the closest you're going to get to a commuting scooter you can do tricks on, because the pro scooters for tricks have small wheels which get caught in cracks, unless you jump every crack. Heck i guess that could be fun. I've had the A5 DLX for over a year and ride a few to the park a few times a week. Bunny hop is easy. I suppose you could do more stuff on it, but I find the most practical for gnarly spots.
I'm planning to buy myself a kick scooter but I was having doubts then I saw your vid and it helped me resolve in purchasing one. Just waiting for it to arrive now
“The laughter has already started by the confused drivers”😂😂😂 I FELT that. I too willingly choose to commute this way, so much fun but I do get a few looks😆 oh wellll

I love doing challenges like this. My last on was a 62 kilometre ride to the next town. Planning to do a short 34 kilometre in two days. Why? Just a fun challenge. I ride a Xootr or a swifty. Good on you.
I'm going into this as well. I found this realy nice scooter, don't know the name, but it's more durable, like they use them in skate parks for tricks. Tried on in the store and I was mindblown how smooth and fast these things go.
This is epic man. I’ve been push scooting for over 20 years. And the most I ever done was 10 miles. But at 66. I regularly do one run of 9miles. And lots of 5 miles out and back. The sweat and the need for drinks is high.😊
If the tour de France was first raced on kick scooters, no one would bat an eyelid, when they saw an adult on a kick scooter but it is still considered a bit weird, a bit of a stigma, so I thought what the hell, and got one, so fast healthy so efficient, and cheaper to maintain than a bicycle, this is the future. Keep Scooting
Im 60 and still Skateboard. I bought a Razor A5 to allow my dog to run more. It is so fast, smooth and efficient. I put my phone mount (from my bicycle) on the handle bar, plugged in a podcast and off we went! Well worth the $75.
Surprising, I felt crazy for thinking about doing half of my commute to work between two hills by kick scooter, 5 miles one way and transfer bus, but now I feel like I'm no longer alone
I found a StreetRunner Dart recently and it's practically become my identity! Tried a few of Razor's more expensive adult scooters but the new anti-rattle folding mechanism comes loose after a block. A5 Lux is probably the best choice in their line. Getting mine tomorrow!
This makes me excited to try using mine to get to work! But there's a few hills where I'd likely get looks pushing a scooter up, but even better looks riding down!
Whoa great idea with the lights on the back pack. When I come back from the park at night with my scooter I never have a back light because i was like there's no where to put it.
the light I used is a blackburn light. it is a clip but also comes with a rubber strap for handel bars or bike seat posts. it can be red solid/ flashing or white solid flashing. I also use the white solid setting when I run and its enough for sidewalk/ road running. a really useful light for $20. I also carry it clipped to my backpacking pack as a back up incase my main light fails.
We feel you, bro. PU wheels are terrible for long distances even if scooting on concrete. My husband and I are planning to change to pneumatic wheels so it's more comfortable. Just hoping we don't roll over any sharp objects along the way (fingers crossed)!

“I don’t have my badge. I got to go back for my badge” Go on then 🤣🤣🤣 Tell me something. Do you do this ride regularly in the good weather. The 2nd time would be easier. After 20 years I only learned how to scoot with either foot on the deck. I wish I did that a long time ago. But now the 10 mile rides are a doddle. 10-12 miles covers most parts of Cork City in Ireland. From end to end.
This was great! I watched every moment, loved it! Purchasing my first scooter soon and if my body can handle it, I'll do some long distance and scooterPacking? I feel like it's my next step from Bikepacking.

How difficult is it to use a kick scooter in the rain? I got one just now but it's got smooth wheels and I'm kinda worried that I'll hurt myself while riding it in the rain
Depends on the road surface. Asphalt is fine but smooth cement is slick and so are paint stripes. Also the rear wheel sprays a ton of water on the back of your legs. The brake isnt long enough to act like a fender. Also the brake dosnt work at all when its wet.
pneumatic wheels are slower depending on teh surface. If its very smooth hard wheels are better, but any bit of rough will be faster on pneumatic. Its easy enough to increase you tire pressure to reduce the drag. @@t.terrell7037
