    I just took the Kaplan and got a 91. I would not have even gotten close to that without your tips and your quizlet! The science is not what I expected at all and your tips about chemoreceptors, prporioceptors, gout, asthma, and other things that seemed non-important saved me. Thank you so much! For anyone preparing, most of the quizlets were made by people who have already taken the test, and those weird ones that seem random are on there for a reason.

    • @scllgst1
      @scllgst1 4 роки тому +4

      Lois&zed Kalula yes I would suggest that you read each question first on the reading section. There are questions on the reading section like in the paragraph define the term foster an atmosphere (cultivate a kind environment) and what does the term obliterate (erase) mean when used in the passage. There were also questions like which sentence should be deleted from the paragraph. On the science section I highly recommend that you study from the quizlet link under this video. The questions are basically identical! Let me know if you have anymore questions! Good luck!!! You got this!!!

      @@scllgst1 hey could you tell me what was on the math sections. What should I study and what the section mainly consisted of?

    • @scllgst1
      @scllgst1 4 роки тому +5

      Corinne Munson the Math section was a lot of basic fractions. Convert Fractions to decimals, percents to decimals, what is 20%of 40, problems like that. There were also a couple of word problems on there like a college has 2 professors for every 500 students if the school has a total of 1000 students how many professors does the school has? There were also a couple of dosage question where you have to know ml to ounces, if you had a 5ml of medicine in a vial and you had to administer 1/5 at 10:00and 1/3 at 3:00 would you have enough medicine in that vial. That’s just an example of a question you’ll have on there. So it’s mainly a lot of fractions and percents. They also let you use a calculator which made it much easier.

    Question on the math portion- are there many word problems?

    • @tarasaurusREXRN
      @tarasaurusREXRN  4 роки тому +10

      Hi Linda! So, there aren't any complicated/confusing word problems. There may be a word problem similar to this example: if one seller has 10 apples and another has 20 apples and they sold 1/3 of their apples - how many apples were left? They are VERY straightforward word problems. The math in the KNAT book may be helpful to practice and brush up on - or from any of the resources. I found the Kaplan math to be slightly easier than the HESI and TEAS, and you can use a calculator.

    hi! I’ve been trying to find videos of people giving tips about the Kaplan but so far this is the best video lol. I’ve taken the TEAS exam and scored 87 for math, but I’m nervous about the math section for the Kaplan, what is the resource you would recommend the most for the math? Also, other than the Quizlet for science that you linked, do you have any other Quizlet or resources I should use? I’ve gone over notes from A&P 1 and 2 but I feel like I need more.

    • @tarasaurusREXRN
      @tarasaurusREXRN  4 роки тому

      If you did that well on the TEAS math you will do great on Kaplan! The math is a lot easier on Kaplan. I would just use problems from that KNAT book (if you have it or your TEAS resources).
      The A+P section on the Kaplan is not hard, but it is really strange. When I say it is sooooo similar to that Quizlet I linked - it really is. It's shockingly similar. I'm wondering when they are going to change it, but from what I've heard it's been that way for a while.

    Would the ATI TEAS book help me with the Kaplan ? Writing , reading and Math wise ?

    • @tarasaurusREXRN
      @tarasaurusREXRN  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Marie! The ATI Teas book is really in-depth material closer to the TEAS test style. I would honestly say it is not the best resource for the Kaplan. The reason being is that the reading on the Kaplan is different (all paragraph interpretations) than the TEAS. The science on the Kaplan is A+P only, and the writing is also all paragraphs. Some of the principles in the writing and math may be helpful. Any passages you can review in reading may be helpful, and the A+P section may be helpful, but I wouldn't use it as my main study resource for the Kaplan, because the test is a bit different.

    • @tarasaurusREXRN
      @tarasaurusREXRN  4 роки тому +1

      For most of these nursing entrance exams I would recommend waiting until you take A + P. However, for the Kaplan please visit the Quizlet I linked. The questions are very similar to those. I would recommend getting the ATI TEAS Study Manual 6th Edition Get the book on the ATI website www.atitesting.com/ as it is only $25 compared to Amazon where it is $81!! LOL crazy. You just have to create a student account and go to the online store. It actually gives a really good overview of Anatomy and Physiology by hitting the basic and important points. Remember that the TEAS study manual overviews other sciences such as introductory biology and chemistry which will not be on the Kaplan, so don't worry about that part. Also, you can watch videos on the 11 different body systems on Khan academy.

      Corinne Munson Hey! The majority was basic math:
      - **converting between percentages, decimals, and fractions**
      - ratios/proportions (know how to set up the proportion from a word problem)
      - equations (solving for x or y)
      - add/subtract/multi/divide fractions (with mixed numbers too)
      - rounding to nearest tenth/hundredth
      - I would also learn dosage calculations .There were about 4 questions on my test
