What brand do you feel is safe with regard to lead and cadmium? I haven’t eaten chocolate or baked with cacao powder, since I became aware of it. The “As You Sow” reports are really hard to decipher. Please share! I was hoping you would have mentioned it. Thank you for all you do!
I had some 95% Dark Chocolate I loved it my wife said it was the most bitter Disgusting thing she ever tried. To me it had a Dark Coffee Flavor and I love the bitterness of extra dark chocolate. For me it has to be 80% or higher Dark Chocolate.
Thanks for answering questions and giving me peace of mind. I used to be a huge fan of milk chocolate but switched to dark after I started Keto. Now I eat 85% and I love it. The problem with dark chocolate is that you can't find a bar without sugar in it, but the carbs were so low I bought them anyways. I can't find Lilly's - you're not the first one to say it's the best. Here we have Baker's; it has pieces of unsweetened chocolate but it's harder to calculate how much you can have and it's only 70%. Great for recipes, though. Thanks again for this video, Nicole
I eat 100% chocolate. No sugar or substitutes. 4 pcs 11g Fibre, calcium 6%, iron 8%, potassium 11%, magnesium 40%, manganese 25%. Ingredients cacao and cacao butter. Is it still nutritious with the cacao butter?? I also eat the raw organic bean, are these better or do the skins contain lectins. I don't mind bitter
I often add raw cold pressed organic cacao powder in my coffee, good stuff! Just discovered chocolate is a good source of PQQ (great!) also learned it's high in oxalates (not so good).
Excited to try starting tomorrow our cocoa tablet.we call it tablea in Philippines.Has no soy in its content. No milk, no sugar.Excited for the health benefits.thanks for this video
Dr. Gundry, can you please do a video on adult hormonal acne? As a teen my skin was flawless but upon entering my early 20’s and even my early thirties I still experience break outs predominantly around my jawline. Can you please discuss triggers (food, dairy, gluten, sugar, sleep, stress, etc) and how to heal and rid the body of inflammation causing the breakouts?
I am having 1T of 100% Cacao powder (non GMO/Free Trade) in a strong shot of coffee. I use my spoon to float the powder and keep it from caking on the bottom of the cup and drink until all the powder is consumed. I also sometimes add a dash of clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, and/or allspice. It’s wonderful and sugar free.
Prunes + cocoa powder (100% pure) : make a paste with the mixer and roll it like truffles over more cocoa powder. Delicius, just 2 ingredients, no fats and no added sugar, is sweet enough with the prunes
Advice for people stuck on night shift , Ive been on your program 2 1/2 yrs, read all of your books and have lost over 100lbs . I do eat a small piece of 92% chocolate every day, but night shift keeps me a little run down most of the time. Thank you Dr. Gundry.
Thank you so much for this terrific information on chocolate, I love it! I have a question that perhaps you can address in a future episode or maybe you have already answered it... what gluten free grains can be be cooked in a pressure cooker to neutralize the lectins? I know you said oats and wheat and other grains containing gluten cannot be pressure cooked, but what about quinoa, buckwheat and other gf grains or seeds? Thanks for all your informative videos, they are so helpful!! I do have all your books btw, but I don't remember reading too much on the gf grains and pressure cooker.
Oh Halleluiah!!! Thanks Dr. Gundry for this. I have been searching for the best cocoa powder. I love "bitter water", enjoyed by the Aztecs (l think...). It is made of a cup of hot water, cocoa powder and ceyene pepper. It has no sweetening at all. I love it. I am on a tight budget and love Hersheys, but wasn't sure if it's the healthiest version. I can afford it and cannot afford the "organics"!!! The Hershey's has the "NonGMO Project Verified" label. I am so pleased and grateful...thanks for watching out for us!!!❤❤❤
Thank you Dr. I had a heart attack in 2019 and lost my health insurance I had another heart attack just weeks ago and have no way of seeing a cardiologist , I'm hoping your advice will save my life.
I make my own chocolate treat by mixing cocoa powder, coconut oil and honey with a couple dashes of salt. I realize DrG doesn’t recommend honey but it’s what’s in the cupboard till I run out and try some monk fruit(?). I’ve never had it so don’t know if it’s a fluid or powdered substance?? Anyway homemade is much less expensive and you can make a single tablespoon or a gigantic batch. It’s nice to dip walnuts in and freeze for a hot day treat 🤗
Love your work Dr. Gundry, I have two friends now reading your books and following the Plant Paradox programme! I some questions: Q1. Do you think its necessary to "Activate" nuts and seeds by soaking then dehydrating them to remove the other anti-nutrients? Q2. Would the pectin in home-made apple sauce help with a leaky gut, as suggested by Dr. Tom O'Bryan as I like to use natural remedies, instead of taking L-glutamine supplement as I'm worried that on my low protein days that it could stimulated m-TOR? Many thanks & Big hugs!
Yes, that's a great question! We need to learn about food to eat to avoid dementia, & other Nero diseases we naturally get as we age. Dr Gundry:. PLEASE TALK ABOUT BRAIN FOOD.
Thank you for your honesty, Dr. Gundry. My beautiful wife and I enjoy the benefits of eating cacao chocolate. I laughed when you said where white chocolate belongs. I plan to watch more of your videos. 😀👍🏾
Hi Doc. I'm looking for a list of foods that I can eat. I'm vegan (50 year). Since I stopped eating lectins my health has improved 1000%. Thank you so very very much for your info. My life has turned around.
1st comment! :o) Please give us a list of 1) The healthiest vegetables to eat and 2) the healthiest fruits. Next 3) The healthiest grains and 4) the healthiest beans. Thanks.
I like bitter chocolate a lot, Dr G! But kindly clarify me whether the lectin content of dark chocolate is problematic. Thanks a lots for your sharpness.
Technically it is the foundation that makes chocolate that is helpful not chocolate itself. As we've known for years now milk chocolate can make chronic pain worse and up inflammation. However the base cacao can help greatly with chronic conditions and inflammation. I'm specifying because some that do not know will automatically use your standard 'chocolate' from the store based on your title instead of doing the research and actually listening to the information offered.
Dr. Gundry, I am a 71 years old male with BPH for more than 30 years. I'd been medicated with avodart but it only has aliviated the symptoms a bit. Nonetheless, cutting the lectins from my diet I'd got a lot better, in such a level that I eliminated the medication. My prostate is much less inflamated and I am able to urinate as in my ancient times. Is it possible that lectins were the origin of my problem?
True. Five years ago I suffered 100.00% complete liver failure followed by right kidney, spleen and gall bladder. (Kidney 100% nearly on others) Iron less than half bottom of range, blood sugar less than 100. Dying in severe discomfort, Dr.'s did zero except cut hole in side to drain out 8liters of fluid per week. LLinda almost wanted to do surgery but said I would bleed to death. No treatments. No prescription to help but pain and diuretic. Alive because I changed diet away from theirs. I ate almost all fruits nuts raw vegetables with lots of Vitamin C. All dr.s left me. Point: You really can survive all this. Painful but if will to live is used its more important than advice. Apple seeds helped to stop all paracentisis. Raw berries too. Try it.
I have SIBO, anemia, psoriatic arthritis and suffer greatly from short-term memory, lack of concentration, triggered easily by over stimuli, lacking solid rest. I have a unhealthy addiction to sugar. I don't know how to discipline without having moments of crash binges. I think I don't know my body well enough to know exactly what it needs and how to reprogram it while staying balanced. I work a physical hard job in the hot sun. I need direction..
Hi mr Gundry. I find it interesting that you recommend eating chocolate. Theobromine and caffeine is known to be these particular plants method of defending themselves against predators. It is spoken of as a natural incecticide for this reason. Isn't this exactly what you say about lectins in other foods? And what would the long term implications be if theobromine and caffeine has a similar effect on the human body?
Dr G. Question on pressure cooking. Do you still have to peel and deseed tomatoes, summer squash and zucchini before pressure cooking them? Also about beans is there additional benefit to soaking beans in water and rinsing several times over 24 hrs before pressure cooking them or is pressure cooking enough to kill the lectins?
Well presented doc. Problem with cacao is the phytic acid that blocks mineral absorbtion, but I guess the answer is to eat just small quantities right?
Also address pollen allergies...especially how stevia and ragweed are in the same plant family...so monkfruit is the best alternative for those of us who are allergic to ragweed. And also why has many monkfruit brands disappeared from the grocery shelves? No longer at Kroger or Meijer in Michigan. And why is there a war against xyletol?
HU brand has AMAZING dark chocolates! They use small amount of coconut sugar which is a much better type of sugar. It’s vegan, so no milk. Often you can find them filled w nut butters. They are absolutely delicious. Also they are organic. No GMOs, no soy, no crap! Also they sell dark chocolate chips which I heard are delicious but I haven’t tried them yet myself. They are a bit more expensive but honestly it’s worth it.
I get 100per cent coca chocolate now, in the past I would go for 70-80percent because that's all I could get but the suger was most definitely there the 100percent has no suger and the flavour is amazing but takes some getting used to without the sweetness. It's a totally different experience it feels more like food and definitely feels like it has more benefits. if you can get your hands on it I would highly recommend you get some. and it goes great in coffee the problem that is most prevalent in dark chocolate 70 -80% are they put too much sugar in them to counter the bitterness. but it's still in a different and better universe than the normal shop bought Cadburys etc.
People keep saying dark chocolate may be to bitter. I believe it's more of an acquired taste. At first I didn't like it, now I love it. I eat 90% cacao.
Great info. Love the comment about white chocolate. Unfortunately, the regular dark chocolate Hershey bars (which I love) are low on cacao and high on sugar. Things you could talk about: How beneficial is daily CoQ10/ubiquinol for the heart? How beneficial is daily turmeric/curcumin supplement? Thank you.
You asked for questions regarding other topics to discuss- Please talk about Peripheral neuropathy, what can be done to help someone with this problem ? No one seems to have a solution to help ease the pain.
I drink every day 100% raw cacao powder in warm coconut milk. There is no mention of "dutch" or "non dutch". In the description it says "almost untreated condition"... What would you suggest to look for, in order to find the right type of cacao powder, in Europe?
As being Dutch i´m concerned now. We have one Dutch brand here that claims to be pure cacao powder, named Blooker, and now i am wondering if you talk about Dutch/dutch or a brand in USA that is named Dutch Cacao? Because in the first case we have to investigate this here and present that info in our food docu's about the Dutch food industry which does so many juju-tricks, its awefull. By now i use real cacao beans btw. ;-) greetings from the Netherlands.
Dr Gundry have got arthritis in my knees , I use to take naproxen and diaclofinic but for about 3years ago I have stop taking both medications, I only take paracetamol when only in pains .I have managed to loose weight but still hve the knee pains. My question is is it true to go on a dairy free, gluten free, wheat free andgrain free.
I was eating dark chocolate everyday to help with sugar cravings but I kept having stomach issue. When I stopped eating the chocolate the pain went away. Do you have any explanation for this?
Hi Dr Gundry and his devoted team. What could you say if eating just an square inch of dark chocolate a day (90% or 95% organic chocolate... very bitter !) gives me lots of acne ? I've tried numerous time and the result is always the same :/ Thanks.
I eat 100% cacao, and I love it. But for those who find it too bitter, it's simple to melt it, add stevia, and let it re-solidify. So everyone can eat 100% cacao.
I have Hashimoto's and was wondering if I need to substitute or eliminate certain foods from the list in your book. I’ve been told broccoli and cauliflower shouldn’t be consumed if you have a thyroid issue.
Thomas Edison predicted you😂 he said “The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition” My wife has been following your program for about two years now and has improved tremendously. We’ve been together for five years now and she has always been more sensitive to food than I was but didn’t realize that the food was making her sick. She’s struggled with obesity for a long time so I think she thought it was due to that. She was 334 pounds when she started reading the plant paradox, she’s an extremely smart woman who was able to make the correlations and make sense of what you were saying right away, especially due to her sensitivities. She is 227 pounds today, I’m so happy for her, it’s amazing. I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart😊 me however have been going from eating healthy to not so much, I’m definitely not eating like I used to though and am trying to stick with 100%healthy eating as I do feel much better. In the last few months, I’ve lost about 30pounds, I went from about 190 pounds to 157 pounds. I have noticed that I’ve developed sensitivities since starting to cut things from my diet like rashes. I have two questions: 1- I suffer from anxiety and depression, is this diet a cure for those? Because I’m sick of taking drugs for it. 2- I don’t actually take doctor prescribed drugs as I refuse to and am able to manage it so my second question is, how do you feel about Cannabis? Oil, not smoking it as that is what I take. It’s infused mct oil, is Cannabis dangerous to consume and does it contain lectins?
My question is on whipped cream or actually cream or half and half ... I put unsweetened cream in my coffee and tea and I like it very much it has 32g fat (21g saturated fat) and 2.3g carbs and 2.4g proteins in 100ml. Is this good for me? Coffee and tea surely taste far better with it. I am just wondering if it is as detrimental as milk.
My question is on blend of different food. I experiment a lot on mixing different food. For instance banana, curd, linseed, prunes. Avocardo, blueberry and banana smoothie and lot others. I know all food I mentioned are heathy individually. But can you comment on the concoction of these food items and also tell us how should we decide before mixing any two or many food items.
Thanks for watching! What's your favorite way to eat Plant Paradox approved chocolate?

Discuss Supplements importance
It's hard to find good dark chocolate without the soy lecithin in it. I'm soy-free as everyone should be.
I have kidney stones. My doctor said that chocolate had a high level of oxalate. Should I avoid chocolate?
Dr. Gundry
You know cacao chocolate home made in its purest is very cheap here
in the Phillipines without sugar, raw cacao choco.
I use coco sugar for sweetener
Tried a 100% cacao chocolate (Montezumas Absolute black). Spat it out at first but love the stuff now.
I ate bitter chocolate 99% cocoa, earlier I wouldn't eat it, now I enjoy this bitter taste
DrG has suggested on other videos to taper off the sweet towards the bitter so it’s not such a shock.
I love bitter chocolate
What brand do you feel is safe with regard to lead and cadmium? I haven’t eaten chocolate or baked with cacao powder, since I became aware of it. The “As You Sow” reports are really hard to decipher. Please share! I was hoping you would have mentioned it. Thank you for all you do!
I've been eating 85% cocoa chocolate and it's fabulous!
I've noticed I don't feel nearly as stressed/depressed whenever I eat a couple squares of dark chocolate. Wal-Mart sells a pretty good 90% bar.
I had some 95% Dark Chocolate I loved it my wife said it was the most bitter Disgusting thing she ever tried. To me it had a Dark Coffee Flavor and I love the bitterness of extra dark chocolate. For me it has to be 80% or higher Dark Chocolate.

The Peddler try HU brand chocolates. They are low sugar and they use coconut sugar which is way more wholesome and it’s full of fiber.
"What about white chocolate? There is exactly one place and that's the trash can."
Savage.

So thankful for your work and all you are doing!!! I am in my second week and feel like a new person. 😊
Consumer Labs tested cacao powder and found all to contain cadmium and lead.
Great video, looking forward for my 200th Birthday
jokes aside, your channel really helps us. Please keep going
I like raw cocoa in cup with honey
Greetings. Please do a segment on PrebioThrive like you’ve done with chocolate ... Thank you for everything. You are loved and appreciated!
I eat a chocolate bar that’s 88% 4 grams of fiber and only 3 grams of sugar. I can’t eat the other junk anymore.
Prunes + cocoa powder (100% pure) : make a paste with the mixer and roll it like truffles over more cocoa powder.
Delicius, just 2 ingredients, no fats and no added sugar, is sweet enough with the prunes

Thank you Dr. I had a heart attack in 2019 and lost my health insurance I had another heart attack just weeks ago and have no way of seeing a cardiologist , I'm hoping your advice will save my life.
Why are you having heart attacks? What are you consuming?
I make my own chocolate treat by mixing cocoa powder, coconut oil and honey with a couple dashes of salt.
I realize DrG doesn’t recommend honey but it’s what’s in the cupboard till I run out and try some monk fruit(?). I’ve never had it so don’t know if it’s a fluid or powdered substance??

Is that too much?

Great explanation,thanks🇺🇸
Lindt 90 percent chocolate is alkalized or “Dutch Processed”. Also, many 100 percent organic cacao powders contain heavy metals
All food contain heavy metals.
I like bitter chocolate a lot, Dr G! But kindly clarify me whether the lectin content of dark chocolate is problematic. Thanks a lots for your sharpness.
Hemp oil is on par with olive oil if not better if you ask me

Does coffee cause inflammation?
NOOOOOOOH - bitter greens and chocolate are ridiculously high in oxalates - a plant poison.
1) Instapot lunch/dinner recipes videos 3) DIY lectin free homemade ketchup !!! PLEASEEEEEE ♥️ And thanks for all your great info always !
Yes yes please to the instant pot meal ideas!!!
He should read the book

Love your chanel, very helpful....
Absolutely love dark chocolate 90%
Hi Doc. Tess from island Romblon... Can u blog about moringa leaves ang mangostine fruit ..
Can you please make a video about the healing properties of coconut-oil? Thank you :)
Dr Gundry, what do you think about cacao nibs? Is this a health boosting food or should I stick to already made chocolate?
You asked for questions regarding other topics to discuss- Please talk about Peripheral neuropathy, what can be done to help someone with this problem ? No one seems to have a solution to help ease the pain.

Tofu is made of GMO soya beans in most part of the world.
No good.

Thank you for everything you do :)
I would like to ask you, what's your opinion on raw cacao nibs and beans? Are they healthier than dark chocolate?
How about raw cocoa powder?
Hi Dr Gundry and his devoted team.
What could you say if eating just an square inch of dark chocolate a day (90% or 95% organic chocolate... very bitter !) gives me lots of acne ?
I've tried numerous time and the result is always the same :/

Lindt chocolate is swiss chocolate made with A2 milk. 😋
I eat 100% cacao, and I love it. But for those who find it too bitter, it's simple to melt it, add stevia, and let it re-solidify. So everyone can eat 100% cacao.
Thank you so much 🌺🙏 What do you think about amino acids pills?
Canned peas. As they are cooked in the can isn't it the same as pressure cooking the peas........so canned peas are lectin free; right? 🤞
I would like to know more about Plantparadox during Pregnancy. How to eat and witch vitamines to take or not to take

I have Hashimoto's and was wondering if I need to substitute or eliminate certain foods from the list in your book. I’ve been told broccoli and cauliflower shouldn’t be consumed if you have a thyroid issue.
Are there lectins in seaweed and if so how do you remove them?
Thomas Edison predicted you😂 he said “The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition”
My wife has been following your program for about two years now and has improved tremendously.
I have two questions:
1- I suffer from anxiety and depression, is this diet a cure for those? Because I’m sick of taking drugs for it.
2- I don’t actually take doctor prescribed drugs as I refuse to and am able to manage it so my second question is, how do you feel about Cannabis? Oil, not smoking it as that is what I take. It’s infused mct oil, is Cannabis dangerous to consume and does it contain lectins?
Franco Ceddia try good old exercising for depression anxiety and stress. In my opinion weights are better than cardio.
i’ll be praying for you!🙏🏼🙂
If it’s seedless ur safe.
Hi Dr. What are your thoughts on creatine?
My question is on whipped cream or actually cream or half and half ... I put unsweetened cream in my coffee and tea and I like it very much it has 32g fat (21g saturated fat) and 2.3g carbs and 2.4g proteins in 100ml. Is this good for me? Coffee and tea surely taste far better with it. I am just wondering if it is as detrimental as milk.
I only eat 85% cocaw :). What do you say about drinking hot drinks always? not cold. lol 3:06 hahahahahaha i laughed so hard hahahah
Thank for the scoop on chocolate 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you dr Guntry
My question is on blend of different food. I experiment a lot on mixing different food. For instance banana, curd, linseed, prunes. Avocardo, blueberry and banana smoothie and lot others. I know all food I mentioned are heathy individually. But can you comment on the concoction of these food items and also tell us how should we decide before mixing any two or many food items.
