My dad was a rock hound so I was fortunate enough to get to go to gem and mineral shows all over the western US. We also went geode hunting a lot (we called them thunder eggs). My dad even bought a small house and had it moved into out back yard for his tumbling equipment. I will always love anything to do with rocks, mining, crystals, etc.
Oh my goodness dude! Those colours! Those are some once in a lifetime finds man 😳😳😳 I’ve never heard of pyrophyllite before but they’re gorgeous! What a great place! And love the Nintendo sounds 🤓👌
Whaaaaat??? That's right, what an awesome haul of pyrophyllite!! Look's like you had a good day! I've never been on a dig like this but I see it in my near future! Rock on fellow "RockHound"!!
Wonderful pieces of crystals and I love the range of colours and the beautiful star shapes. The iridescent colours are gorgeous and I love looking at them. It amazes me what beautiful things can be found in nature, thank you Bryan for sharing your love of crystals with us. Mary-Ellen UK
My 14 yr old son and I go to Graves mountain every yr.usually twice on the public digs..It's a blast..it figures we didn't go this past one a few weeks ago and you guys were there...We love your videos..it really helps because we have no idea what we are doing. However we've found great pieces and it's so much fun. Thank you for sharing these videos..Your Awesome just like all the beautiful "ROCKS" you must have kind ❤
Aha! I remember your video when you were mining starburst phyrophillite and kyanite at grave mountain, it honestly interested me and brought me to your channel
That iridescent hematite is the trippiest mineral ever. I'd never even heard of it till now. Thanks for the education Bryan. Might have to buy a piece.
I was so lucky to be visiting family in the area when you had your last event and dig at graves I loved loved loved it! And absolutely love my treasures I was able to bring back to California I love you graves mountain and all the wonderful people I met there!
Wow!! I''ve never heard of pyrophyllite before but have heard of rutile quartz. The hematite and pyrophyllite crystals are absolutely stunning. You truly hit the mother load this time!!
Damn! I live just a few miles from Graves Mountain, and didn't know about this! Back in the mid seventies, some friends and I explored the mountain, but it was still an operating mine at the time.
Random/ not so random. Have you ever tried looking for jade in Wyoming? Medicine bow area. Wyoming has lots of minerals and stuff and it’s hardly touched due to low population. Just think about it bud. Hopefully I can see you out here soon so I can join in with you! Thanks!
Brian, you need to purchase the small "bendy" try pod so you can wrap it around branches and rocks so you can use two hands to extract the crystals your digging for. When in a muddy place bring a 1" x 1" x 6' long pole so you can drive the pole into the mud or ground, wrap the bendy tri-pod onto the pole for the camera. Now both of your hands are free to dig!
A lot of radio active minerals have deformed crystal structures. How does one know for sure? Great video. I love your channel. The best on UA-cam!!! Cathy from Ontario.
Yes you’re right, sometimes when you’re getting pretty colorful stuff it may not be safe, you always want to check out the chemicals that are occurring in your area that you’re digging
Awesome!!👍 Thank you for sharing sir🙏 - Hematite is similar to some of the slag from the silicon industry (after the melting process) I think of the color play...
Pyrophyllite....nice! That's what the Saint Clair, PA fern fossils are preserved as(a pyrite psuedomorph)....it's what gives them their bold white "color".
Yes I’ve dug there a couple of times! The pyrophyllite there is mostly chalky where it formed after the pyrite. Wouldn’t that have been awesome if the ferns would have stayed as pyrite and not changed to the pyrophyllite ! Still is awesome material, I heard it was closed now?
Great place to dig! I missed this dig but going to try and make the fall dig. And man you win! I thought i had good piece of pyrophyllite from there(would attach pic if i could).
Yes the rutile are world class there, wild! Yes, for ultimate safety it would be best to always wear glasses, but the hardness of the pyropyllite is 1.5 to 2, so it rarely will shatter off pieces like that. But I agree would be best to use them.
It 's a great exploration. we can't find easily iridescent hematite at the markets. I think this area is residual deposit as secondary deposits. I hope to visit there if I have a chance.^^
You had quite a lot of fun. I have some specimens from Graves Mountain at home. I have two small specimens one being a rock composed of Kyanite and Pyrite, and the other being Iridescent Hematite. I wonder if all the Iridescent Hematite there should be called Turguite? I know Turgite is an iridescent mix of Hematite and Limonite which is a Hydrated Iron Oxide mineral which I also suppose could be the golden orange color on some of the Pyrophyllites in the video.
Are these formations the result of lava layering over preexisting crystal formations? The new lava from the 2018 Kilauea eruption has these same iridescent colors. Some of your pieces look very much like bubbly lava. Thanks!
Is there a possibility to encounter a big poisonous spider at those pockets that you dig out? We don't have them in Poland but we don't have any minerals like that either. I have arachnophobia and I also very like shiny crystals :(
The Crystal Collector thanks I absolutely will. I love your vlogs. I was born and raised in Villa Rica, Georgia just a half mile or so from the old Stockmar Gold Mine. My Grandfather worked the mine after he came home from the war (WW2). I learned to identify most of the minerals found there.. amethyst, garnet, diamonds, quartz (clear, smoky and rose), kyanite, beryl, feldspar, tourmaline, barite, and one I haven’t heard anything about really, by my Grandfather called it Appetite? You could find some a gorgeous blue color, but most were a yellowish green. There were also Dessert Roses (?), pyrite and geodes. I LOVED it there and it was the place my love of rock hunting began. Thanks for your time in answering. Take care M
Melissa Ann Pate oh wow!! That’s awesome, I’d like to see if there are any tailing piles you could maybe still find some of this minerals that came from the mine
The Crystal Collector there are huge tailing piles. Lol, I used to get buckets of soil and run it through a shaker box and that’s where I found most of my diamonds. I found a couple of good size pieces of gold in what used to be the old mercury shack they used back when the mind was operational. You can still get loads of black sand full of gold dust if you’re any good at panning. It is definitely full of awesome childhood memories there. They have opened a City Museum/park now.. I haven’t been in a few years. The best time to go is spring or fall.. otherwise you roast in the sun and get eaten alive by Chiggers, Mosquitoes and ticks.
I SOOOOO needed this today!!!! TY!! Ok so question: is iridescent hematite the same thing as rainbow hematite? Also....how rare (or not rare) is specular hematite......is the specular used more frequently for tumbling and jewelry? TY hun.........good to see you back on........waiting for the next video!!!!!
Awesome rocks and video, as always! And man, I tried to remember what your "Whaaaaat" reminds me, especially when you find a nice pocket or show an amazing find. I got it, it is just like when I was a child and saw my grandma's chicken finds a worm! found someone's video, illustrating the sound :D ua-cam.com/video/iGw2Rr9tb18/v-deo.html

🌈 Iridescent hematite is quite stunning. Looks like an excellent dig-your-own location! 👌

Fantastic adventure sweet finds some of those colours amazing your last finds awesome thank u
Wow. Gorgeous colors and those pyrophyllites are just amazing.

When are they going to be on your eBay store?
I was so lucky to be visiting family in the area when you had your last event and dig at graves I loved loved loved it! And absolutely love my treasures I was able to bring back to California I love you graves mountain and all the wonderful people I met there!
That’s so cool, glad you made it! Yes it’s such a fun place!
Nice sharing brother. liked
Awesome finds! You're videos are fun to watch. Tyfs.
Wow!! I''ve never heard of pyrophyllite before but have heard of rutile quartz. The hematite and pyrophyllite crystals are absolutely stunning. You truly hit the mother load this time!!
The cluster is gorgeous!😍
You should go see the Hemalia Tourmaline Mine in California, it is really cool.
Fantastic video ! Great finds !
Love your videos Brian keep up the great work !!!!!
Mother Nature at her finest❤
Super video! Great information and thanks for sharing!
Damn! I live just a few miles from Graves Mountain, and didn't know about this! Back in the mid seventies, some friends and I explored the mountain, but it was still an operating mine at the time.
Yea twice a year!! Check it out for sure!!
Fascinating crystal formation
Love the videos!! Best family friendly content on UA-cam! Keep em coming! Would love to see some Arizona petrified wood hunts!
Thanks so much!!! Yes gonna be looking for some of that this year!!
I love these videos so much...wish there were places in Western Australia near me to dig and find awesome treasures!!
I think there are some but I’m not sure locations, maybe more inland.
Thank you 😊
Looks fun!
Congrats on your pyrophyllite!
Random/ not so random. Have you ever tried looking for jade in Wyoming? Medicine bow area. Wyoming has lots of minerals and stuff and it’s hardly touched due to low population. Just think about it bud. Hopefully I can see you out here soon so I can join in with you! Thanks!
I’d lie to try that!! Need more locations!!
Love the video, can’t wait to see the next one! ❤️💎
Rock on dude I'm glad I got to meet you during the rock dig and swap Sunday you definitely taught me a lot through your videos
Great to meet you also 🙌
I thought the thumbnail was clickbait but it actually isn’t. Those rocks are super cool!
that quartz chunk at 5:45 looks like a termination , awesome indeed
That was fun! I always enjoy going digging with you. Its so good nteresting
Those are beautiful, the starburst shape is sweet!! I had to grab one from your eBay store before they are all gone! 😉

Great finds there beautiful
Wow!!! What a great video/place. My favorite of yours that I've seen. Thanks for sharing. Hope to see these for sale.
Yes I’ll be putting some up on my eBay site
That looks like so much fun
Rainbow hematite stone 💎💎💎💎💎 good work
Beautiful!!
The colors are shocking!
Thanks. This was a great "I wish I had" video.
Man, Georgia sure has a lot of amazing minerals.
Nice find bro
Fun stuff! Never saw prophylite before- it's beautiful!
Who would think you find a Rainbow in the ground. Lovely. ❤💝💘
Incredible rocks or others types of rocks !
A lot of radio active minerals have deformed crystal structures. How does one know for sure? Great video. I love your channel. The best on UA-cam!!! Cathy from Ontario.

Very beautiful
The pyrophyllite is dope.
Awesome!!👍 Thank you for sharing sir🙏
- Hematite is similar to some of the slag from the silicon industry (after the melting process) I think of the color play...
Yea it sure is, slag always interested me as a kid when I found a piece, seems like it was a meteor sometimes 😆
Pyrophyllite....nice! That's what the Saint Clair, PA fern fossils are preserved as(a pyrite psuedomorph)....it's what gives them their bold white "color".

cool place very close to me and listed in my gpaa guide. never knew exactly was there. thanks for the vid
Whaaat! Amazing
SO AMAZING!!
Im early the rock in the thumbnail is beautiful
Great place to dig! I missed this dig but going to try and make the fall dig.
And man you win! I thought i had good piece of pyrophyllite from there(would attach pic if i could).
I wish I could take this whole summer off and just camp and hunt rocks.
Amazing finds, those Rutile crystals are insane! Any reason you don't wear protective eyewear when chiseling??
Yes the rutile are world class there, wild! Yes, for ultimate safety it would be best to always wear glasses, but the hardness of the pyropyllite is 1.5 to 2, so it rarely will shatter off pieces like that. But I agree would be best to use them.
Have they basically been tempered because of the high metal content of the crystals?
It's lovely
Yes, the heavy can’t it does change the structures
Awesome video man! I met you at the NJ show and got a killer cluster from you 🙌 keep up the good vids 😄
It 's a great exploration. we can't find easily iridescent hematite at the markets.
I think this area is residual deposit as secondary deposits.
I hope to visit there if I have a chance.^^
Im sitting here all fascinated like..."yeahhh it does have a botryoidal formation"...i had no idea what it even meant.
😂 that’s awesome!!! 🙌🙏⚒⚒⚒

Yes it’s also called turgite, your correct 🙌💎
I want these ones😍😍🥰🥰🤩🤩!!!!!!!!! In love😍😍😍😍😍
So need some in my collection. Would love to go to this dig
Amazeballs 👌
Still waiting for a Q&A...
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL ROCK
HOW MUCH WOULD THAT ROCK COST?
@7:33 the "cha-ching" noise comes from the 6 o'clock position when wearing headphones. Scared the crap out of me lol.
I saw a galaxy taco in the thumbnail
The finds look great but I have to look them up for the metaphysical qualities and stuff...
Keep up the good work. Have you ever panned for garnets in the chattooga? Haven't found anything spectacular yet, so many smalls.
Not yet! Hope you find some great ones!!!
I want to see cabs of the hematite.. not sure what you do with the other but look at it.
They won’t take a polish but could be cut down and sized out for cabs. Yes!! 🙌💎🙏🙏💎
We r going there soon. Please could u share some tips of finding rutiles? Thank you
Are these formations the result of lava layering over preexisting crystal formations? The new lava from the 2018 Kilauea eruption has these same iridescent colors. Some of your pieces look very much like bubbly lava. Thanks!
Sort of, it was Happening deep underwater at the time of this event, causing most of it not to get too burnt up
I like kyanite. Can you find good quantity at Graves Mt, or is it a lucky find?
This is my first time seeing pyrophyllite. Thanks for the share!
I’ll be doing a part 2 segment soon showing the kyanite and pyrite combos actually! It’s pretty cool stuff
Is there a possibility to encounter a big poisonous spider at those pockets that you dig out? We don't have them in Poland but we don't have any minerals like that either. I have arachnophobia and I also very like shiny crystals :(
Yes we get black widows around these parts, it could happen, got to be careful
What?? I’ve been here in Georgia my whole life and I’ve never heard of this place. I’m definitely going to have to look it up and go
Yes, they do to these digs per year, check it out for sure, Facebook

@@TheCrystalCollector : ) TY!
awesome :o
Dang it i was there I didn’t get to see you
Yeah there was lots of people there, hopefully going to make it back this fall!

I've always wanted to do this but have no idea where I would have any luck in Indiana. I've tried a few times. Found a bunch of clay.. lol
Go to keokuk Illinois, geodes everywhere
I saw you at the mountain
🙌⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒💎💎💎💎 fun times out there !
Parabéns
Belíssima
Wow I never knew these existed. They look like the fake rock pieces in a fish tank. Neat.
I want to go.
you should bring a spray bottle with water in it to spray off the dirt when you find the crystals to see them better ya know
Great idea! 🙌
if you don`t mind me asking was Greg Padget, Charils brother with him at Graves Mountain? Thanks :)
I didn’t see Greg
Look at my stones, my friends
