NOTE: CHÓR ERYANA (The Eryan's Choir) ranks third on the list of most popular Polish revelers in the 1930s. (after the 1st Dan's Choir and the 2nd Jurand's Choir, omitting ephemeral male vocal groups like the Wiehler’s Choir, the Wars’ Choir or the Orland’s Choir).
The Eryan’s Choir, based in Lwów, was founded in 1930 by pianist and composer Jan Ernst (whose artistic pseudonym was Eryan). They had first public appearance at the university cabaret "Nasze Oczko" (Our Eye) in Feb 1931, quickly gaining popularity in Lwów. In Jan 1932, they were offered a recording session at Syrena Records in Warsaw and recorded 6 sides, which were frequently played on air, beginning their road to fame. They then continued to record for the Columbia and Odeon labels. By 1937 (when their activities were suspended due to Jan Ernst's academic obligations), they had given around 1,000 concerts and appeared on air 250 times, including on the hugely popular programme "Wesoła Lwowska Fala” (A Merry Lwów Wave). The Eryan’s Choir returned to public performances after the Second World War on radio and records until March 1966, when they gave their last concert. Among other Polish revelers, the Eryan’s Choir stood out for very high artistic level, when the refined singing was favoured more by the performers than the pop style, as in other revelers' performances.
The slideshow shows beautiful pre-war views of Lwów as it looked when it was still part of Poland's supreme historical heritage (until the outbreak of the 2nd WW in September 1939).

Proszę, daj mi znać, Grzegorz, skąd bierzesz te wszystkie wspaniałe piosenki?
Z moich płyt. Ale też mam szereg zarchiwizowanych w postaci mp3. Już nie ma gdzie kłaść płyt. Trochę nawet oddałem innym kolekcjonerom. Są zbierane przeze mnie od lat, choć część była w zasobach rodzinnych, czytaj na strychach i w piwnicach. Długa opowieść. Zacząłem to czyścić, myć, wyciągać z kątów gdy miałem 14 lat.
