Soul Surfer is my favorite movie in the whole world. I can relate to it well actually, because my dad broke his neck and his left arm was paralyzed and rendered pretty much useless. He was a very, very serious bicyclist and is now trying to get back on the bike even with his paralyzed arm. It CAN be done, with the grace of God, as shown with my dad, and Bethany.
Wow.... Bethany's hair is so light! When I was first learning how to surf I sucked at it. I tried for weeks and weeks but I couldn't get any improvement. So I figured stop trying, this is hopeless. Then I saw her have an interview with my local news on T.V later that day and i thought to myself ''Wow... If she can do it with one arm I bet I can do it with two!'' So I practiced and practiced and I am the best surfers I know right now. So thank you for giving me hope Bethany... Thank you... :)
This is why bad things happen to teach us lessons and it always ends up for the better. trust me this is why God exists. u might be doubtful but one day u will know it without a doubt.

Tell that to the thousands of people afflicted on a yearly basis by natural disasters, too, those who are struck down by vast tsunamis or whipped up by tornadoes. They are given no opportunity to escape, nor to overcome the situation. They are helpless. Tell that to the thousands of people who are laid to waste by drug and alcohol addictions, people whose weaknesses drive them to insanity and to suicide. Doesn't get any better from there. Tell it to Brazilian slum-dwellers, people so desperate they crawl through heaps of trash to find edible, remotely palatable waste. Their lives are a complication of horror and injustice, and many will be afflicted and killed by fatal illnesses before they reach man/womanhood. None of these people can learn; they are killed before they get the chance. Bethany Hamilton is a single human being. One in 7 billion. She survived her tribulations and relative suffering and had a cutesy little comeback story to tell, and for that she deserves respect, but remember that for every lucky soul like hers there are a million cursed ones. There's a reason these things get made into movies, and that's because they don't happen regularly; they're anomalous and abnormal, unlike all the examples of irredeemable and completely pointless suffering I listed above. Get some perspective into your life. There's no God out there for you, not for anyone. Does Bethany deserve privileges more than starving Africans, more than oppressed citizens under the Taliban, more than innocent victims of genocide? No, she does not. Yet somehow, she gets it. Why? Is it prayer? No- the vast majority of South Americans adhere to the norms of Christianity, but that didn't save those slum-dwelling kids from cholera and other crippling, usually fatal infirmities. Is it God? No, Hamilton's no more special than anyone else, and it says in your Bible that 'we are all one in Christ Jesus', regardless of our religious belief and character, so why would God give her special treatment? I saw this movie on saturday with my sister(big brothers big sisters of Northern New Mexico) and i liked it so much i went to the bookstore with my mom and got the book. I've heard about Bethany's story when i was younger but was never really interested in the whole story of how she lost her right arm. But i was just a young girl who didn't fully understand the world i was living in yet so that's why. But i'm glad that she's still alive and well. She's a strong woman and God helped her live.
I love have always loved bethany even before her attack and annasophia robb is my favorite actress so the movie is just amazing i would do anything to meet both of them they are both very inspiring and i love them

Yeah you're right, you can re-attach them. I read about an arm being re-attached but he didn't have 100% use of it. He could move some of the fingers and move the arm a bit. Eventually, he might be able to use it more. However, in every case where something is re-attached, it has to be done very quickly. You pack the finger/arm or whatever in ice and go to the hospital immediately. You've only got a short time to re-attach it (maybe an hour). After that the tissue will be dead.
The movie about her inspired me.... and gave me a little bit more confidence, to keep up with many rashes (atopycal dermatit and egsemas). Love you Bethany. Keep up♥

I know this is hard for some people to understand and even me sometimes we all do sometimes,but just read this and trust me. When bad things happen to us or we are going through tough times in life, you just have to remember God will get us through this. He might not get you through it in a very smooth journey, or the way you wanted it to go, but God will get us through it and just pray to Him and trust Him! Like it will always get through good If you trust God. For example: when Bethany was attacked she thought there was nothing good gonna come out of it and she thought why did God let this happen to me, but at the end it all happened for a good reason and without the attack she would’ve never inspired as many people as she did. And that is why God let the attack happen. Thanks for reading :)

I barely found out about this movie because it came out on Netflix I think 1month ago or a few weeks ago and since the I had been watching it I just watched it today when I woke up it's like the fifth time I had seen it so now I want to learn how to surf

I know this is hard for some people to understand and even me sometimes we all do sometimes,but just read this and trust me. When bad things happen to us or we are going through tough times in life, you just have to remember God will get us through this. He might not get you through it in a very smooth journey, or the way you wanted it to go, but God will get us through it and just pray to Him and trust Him! Like it will always get through good If you trust God. For example: when Bethany was attacked she thought there was nothing good gonna come out of it and she thought why did God let this happen to me, but at the end it all happened for a good reason and without the attack she would’ve never inspired as many people as she did. And that is why God let the attack happen. Thanks for reading :)

@Ghibligal They put a green sleeve type thing on her arm to blend in with the background and make it look like she didn't have an arm. It some other videos where they are shooting the movie, you see were wearing it.
I barely found out about this movie because it came out on Netflix I think 1month ago or a few weeks ago and since the I had been watching it I just watched it today when I woke up it's like the fifth time I had seen it so now I want to learn how to surf
