Awww must be soooo awful that the family had to leave there penthouse to go stay at a luxurious hotel uptown. They had to walk down a horrific 15 floors. Then after 3 days at the hilton, and room service from maids who had to walk to there 6.25 an hour job,the family have to wait in angst in hopes that jfk will open so they can go to 75 degree sunny weather florida.Isnt life nice.If only they could have stayed at the convention center in neworleans in 2005 for one day.Just 1 day
Good job ABC on telling us the story of the Bradshaws. A brave family who trecked stairs and hotels to survive superstorm Sandy, a true story of perseverance. Not like those whiny Staten Islanders who lost everything, some even there lives.
The lady who lives with her baby and was interviewed is a fool. Not only is she right by the hudson but she's also in lower manhattan in a highrise apartment. Only a New York resident would overestimate their survival chance... Unlike her 10 years ago I was in a midrise apartment not anywhere near lower manhattan and not in danger at all but still took safety precautions.
If any New Yorkers see this comment. If your some of your electronic stuff got damaged, and you need them replaced but dont want to spend a lot of money replacing. Theres a company called "Monoprice" that sells good quality electronic stuff for really good prices. I've bought plenty of my things from there. I hope things get good for you guys that were hit by Sandy very soon.
"OMG we just got hit by a wave" This lady seems like she obviously never been outside of the house before. You can literally get that "wave" from a normal thunderstorm. "Ignore mandatory evacuation" "We are taking this seriously and prepared" What? How can you take it seriously and be prepared when ignoring the instructions they give you?
as someone who lived through katrina...and many other hurricanes, the most recent being isaac of course. i really hope new york, and new jersey recover from this quickly.as well as all the other affected areas. i hope that we can all pull together and help out those who lost homes, and other things. you have my best wishes.
I was like 8 years old when this happened in 2012 and I do not remember as a single second of it. I wasn't by the coast of Manhattan but I was n't very far either. At the time I was in the Bronx so I don't know why I can't remember it only thing I can recall from 2012 was sitting in my empty room (remodeling at the time we've moved since then) looking out the window because my parents had gone out to buy food and water.

You know, I may live hundreds of miles away from where this storm hit. But I'll never forget the impact it had on our world.

You can build close to or even on water. No problem. There a lots of cities that are build in flood areas. But not the way it's done in the USA.
Nobody should have a vacation to florida because it always rains out their and always hits hurricanes, worst hurricanes out their actually.
The young couple with the 18 month old baby, TOTALLY IRRESPONSIBLE to the safety of their child 🤮
