I usually do a few weeks of enthusiasm before adding a sit at the end. There's nothing worse when you call your dog, especially in a show ring, and they aren't really sure if they want to come. Everyone is thinking wow, what do you do to your dog that he doesn't want to come to you. Once I get the enthusiasm, like they come flying to me, without even thinking about it, then will add the sit when they get to me. Also don't correct or even deep sigh when doing stays or waits because coming to you is the best possible thing ever! Better than the squirrels, bunnies, feral cats, etc, so act like you just saved your dog from getting hit by a semi truck. Hope that helps.
