If the Braves didn't have any other holes to fill, I'd love to see them sign Adames. Starting Pitching is a much bigger need than trying to squeeze more offensive production out of SS, though. If they're going to spend 30m/5yr, you give it to Max Fried.
And I think Arcia tends to play a little better when everyone else is hitting. I think it relieves some of the pressure off when all the other bats are connecting.
Tyler you made good since I 've been watching your podcast and I agree with you it will foolish to sign Willy Adames True that the Braves lose some kin players last year Arcia was the one to step up be the leader in the club house but he didn't do it and he [ Arica ] didn't know who play second when Ozzie got hurt and the same thing with Auston So what I saying that when he [ Arica ] relasing it was to late to adjust back like he was because he swing that he should not and when he hit it will go to a infilder or a outfilder Let's hope that if Arcia back at shortstop and a new hitting coach a new in pross of hitting
Arcia wasn't signed for his bat to start with. His defense is what got him the job and he has done great on the defensive side. Ride it out with Arcia because spending that money on Adames you're getting the same other than a few extra home runs that still wouldn't justify paying out 10x Arcias salary. Go get some pitchers or give fried some money.
I have thought AA has had his sights on Adames for a couple years that’s why he didn’t go after Swanson or the other 3 a couple years ago. He is the type of player and person AA loves and I’m calling it now that Contreras will be the next catcher after Murphy
It is reasonable to explore opportunities to upgrade the roster, such moves align with the team's long-term strategy and immediate needs. However, it would be unjust to place the entire offensive burden on one player like Arcia. While bolstering the lineup is important, the Braves' current priorities should also include addressing key areas of pitching depth. Players like Max Fried, Charlie Morton, Joe Jiménez, and A.J. Minter are essential to the team's postseason aspirations, and their contributions cannot be overlooked, those holes have to be filled. Additionally, with payroll limitations, strategic decisions must focus on filling these critical holes without overextending financial commitments, ensuring a well-rounded and sustainable roster for future success. Sometimes people forget Arcia is only costing 2.0 Million I agree with you 1,000% I would not touch Adames contract with this healthy Braves lineup just not worth it.
I maybe wrong but everyone is going to see after this offseason that the days of the Braves and AA being called cheap is over. I’m not saying they number one or two but if AA thinks it’s worth it and AA wants someone then just like he said he has never been told no and given the green light. He’s not gonna waste money but the Braves are playing with the LA’s and NY’s now
Adames just feels like a braves guy to me, and I wouldn’t be scared of a lot of years bc he could move to the DH spot as his age may slow him down as a defender……. They could probably get him around 27 or 28 mil!!! I’d pay that for him no doubt bc he’s consistent year over year, u know what ur getting and he’s durable and a veteran!! It’s just a really good fit and gives u time to farm a SS to succeed him at some point
Could they get Adames? Sure. Would he be a good upgrade over what they have? Maybe not, because since Arcia's been with the Braves, they have him being a 1.5 fWAR per 600 plate appearances player. Arcia is set to make $2mil in 25', and $2mil club option with a $1mil buyout in 26'. If Adames were to make anything in that $20mil to $25mil range, he would cost 10 to 12 times the price of Arcia, while only being a guy who produces somewhere in that 2 to 3 times the amount of WAR.
Adames isn't coming to Atlanta. Too expensive, especially when the team should prioritize LF and SP. Im good with sticking with Arcia. He has a good glove, he suits up everyday, and his bat is good enough when the lineup is back to normal.
No one was scared of Arcia at the plate he was feeble along with Murphy RISP with them coming up to hit no stress on the pitcher they giggled and got out of the jam easily.
🤔I dont think the Braves will do this when they could've kept Swanson for less and let him walk. If the Braves sign a shortstop, it'll be a veteran who will compete for the job or just for depth. A Whit Merrifield type of player. The money they have will go to pitching and a corner outfielder. But mostly pitching.
The Swanson point is a good one - I think they're likely hoping for someone out of the farm system to take over once Arcia's bat is too big of a problem. I still think that if the offense is working on all cylinders, Arcia will be as well.
@BravesOnDeck Yeah…same for me. And I think no one really had it going this year besides Ozuna. So if we can get .260-.269ish at the Shortstop position we will be ok. My main concern on the offense is speed. I’ve been saying this for a few years now. We can’t always rely on the big fly. We have to be able to put some pressure on the opposing pitcher with speed on the bags. First to home is big in the game right now. So taking advantage of guys being on base that is not named Ronald or Michael will be key.
Me personally I’d rather see that money spent elsewhere an be tickled with someone like edman or I would have liked to of seen biggio get some reps there at short.
@ShaneColeman-n1w (Caleb Durbin you mean?) I have to admit last time I heard his name was in 2021 when he signed with the Braves after they drafted him. He might be an under the radar acquisition because he is not ranked among the Yankees top 30 prospects and was already in our system. Looking at his stats he has posted 800+ OPS seasons back to back in the minors.

I think Adames is over rated for what he is going to get paid.
Totally agree. SP before anything else. Especially, since Stridder might not be back until may or later.
Glad I stumbled upon this channel, keep it up dude!
Welcome aboard! Thanks brother! Tell your friends!

I agree! Sign Fried!
Exactly. Braves value defense up the middle.
Yes, no more Arcia unless late defensive substitution late in games. Sign Eovaldi/Means, Treinen as well.
Giants should definitely pitch in for Orlando Arcia

Willie don’t make the mistake going to the bravos!
Ha-song Kim is another probably better get though IMO
Don't disagree - this is the one everyone seems to be talking about right now - so I wanted to get out ahead of it.

I doubt it

I don’t trust Willy but he brings great energy I’m telling you he is a leader

Look at the difference between Runs Scored. Adames is way better than Arcia.

You know we should’ve never got rid of Chad Durban and we would have our short stop of the future
Me personally I’d rather see that money spent elsewhere an be tickled with someone like edman or I would have liked to of seen biggio get some reps there at short.
Could we trade for him to get him back from the Yankees
Do not sign Adames. Use the money for pitching. Come on , shortstop is ok for now. Pitching , starting pitching, is WHAT THE BRAVES NEED.!!!!
If they don't get Adames, then AA better knock it out of the fuckin park with the other acquisitions.
Tyler !! No love for your followers ??
?
@@eros587 no I’m saying we should go get Caleb Durban from the Yankees trade for him and he would be our shortstop of the future future

No, I can't see them spending around $150 million on him, nor would I want them to.
They could, but they WON'T
