1:35:17 does it for me. The love for the manager in what for many was the most important game in football at the most sacred stadium. I'm lucky I went twice to old Wembley, 1990 Cup final and reply. Too much money in the gane today and players are more fashion statements and political pawns over classy and aggressive footballers. From a Man United fan.
Note a young Terry McDermott playing for Newcastle. He was of course born in Liverpool and would join the club shortly after this game, in time for the 74-75 season so it’s fair to think that, even if in a losing cause, he impressed them. Coincidentally, Alan Kennedy was a twenty year old defender that day who would also join Liverpool but he had to wait until 1978. And then in the early eighties McDermott went back to Newcastle, Keegan also putting in a stint there after finishing at Southampton whom he joined after returning to English football from Germany in 1980, I think.
In my eyes proper football this is when FA Cup final meant everything
10 years old i was and ever since been a Liverpool sopporter. 50 years this year :)
When the cup meant something how sad today
Money killed the magic of the FA Cup.
@@treadstone1970 The present team does not represent the region - too many foreign players

Attendance for the 1974 FA Cup Final was a sellout crowd of 100,000 fans.
Another devastating defeat at Wembley for cursed NUFC
A great occasion but a real let down for Newcastle fans. Newcastle didn't get started and were totally overwhelmed on the day.
Newcastle failed to repeat the heroics of Sunderland in the previous final
1:39:15 ♥
was the ref a scouser? i watched on the day in b&w........on school trip ...........
If he was, he was an Everton supporter. There was nothing wrong with Lindsay's effort.
Newcastle Utd should have been banned after the fans rioted in the semi final glad they got there come uppance
"Ray Clemence in a bright green jersey for those of you watching in black and white" 🤣 ua-cam.com/video/PW6P6gp6EYA/v-deo.html
