I watched someone play easy mode with mods and still get pulled out of lockers more times than I can recount, and saw his heartrate get up to 147 after a rather low-key scare but it was during the nerve wracking The Hunt. That he even played it, being someone who is a scaredy cat and not a horror game fan- who has played quite a few terrifying games- I give him a lotta credit. Even on easy, it can still be terrifying.
That’s not true at all. I have played it on all the difficulties and unless you have a lot of experience with stealth games, the alien does and will hunt you down even on easy mode. The atmosphere of the game itself keeps you paranoid, especially if easy or novice setting is the first time you’re playing it. Personally, I didn’t think that the difficulty ramped up by any significant amount between easy, medium and hard.
@TheKaurK bit late but i think 99% of the experience difficulty wise is the lack of loot/resources. On hard and above, it definitely gives the alien AI more hints (giving general location, etc) but it still hunts more or less the same. My first playthrough was on hard and if you stopped moving it patrolled around and made it difficult to leave. On easy it still relied on you moving lots but you had more opportunities to escape when you stay still since it will wander off a tiny bit
Ign helped kill the sequel. The publisher wanted a high average review score to approve a sequel and ign gave it an extremely low score because it was "too hard". Remember to thank ign.
@@iHaveTheDocuments that’s the dumbest reasoning of a review honestly saying that it’s too hard, I thought it was easy from novice to medium and obviously more difficult on hard and nightmare, but nightmare being the hardest for sure
I had the alien come at me before the introduction on my first playthrough, I just backed up because i thought there would be a cut see. There wasnt a cut seen and i got the living shit scared out of me.
The alien AI always knows where you are, but at the same time it doesn’t. One half is like “okay bud she’s in the room with the androids” and the other half, the half that controls where the alien goes and does listens to that but forgets 60% of it. So the alien might head over to the room with the androids but won’t go to your exact location. Sometimes it’ll go to a room next to the room with the androids. Hopefully that helps your play through!
Now I am imagining Gab at the dinner table, giggling maniacally as she tosses a DIY noise maker on the table and takes off running, as her friends/family are looking at each other with wtf expressions.
Sigourney Weaver is the shit. Ripley is absolutely my favorite part of Alien. Hands down one of the best horror franchises. I can't afford to buy a ton of video games so I live vicariously through you playing these😂
01:02:28 - The magical moment where Gab first spoke to me 🥰 Honestly, it made my night and I so loved you play through of this game on Hard Mode so I can’t wait to see how nightmare will go. You’re awesome Gab and you’re such a wonderful content creator - so cool and chill and funny 💜
Aliens can follow you through vents if memory serves but they usually don’t as longs as you don’t lead them to the vents via noise or direct sightings. Noise makers are great but on nightmare crafting supplies are slim you can use flares to distract in a pinch but make sure to throw it before it fully ignites as the ignition sound will give you away which lead to players thinking flares don’t work for distractions, and if all else fails use your wrench to hit a wall crude and potentially risky but it’s unlimited. Good luck Gab
There I was in the mood to play some Alien Isolation after some stressful months. It is nearly a perfect game but very spooky, and so I've never finished it... even though I was very close to finishing it once. It was then that I asked myself: "Why not watch some gameplay instead? Again... But from whom?". To my surprise Gab has full gameplay of it, in nightmare even. I'm a longtime fan and I've watched other more friendly games such as Ooblets. I know she plays other horror games, but rarely one like this, never mind the difficulty level. It's "one of the few full-length games that managed to actually terrify me every time again", as she puts it. And so I lay down in bed, put my headphones on, and start binge-watching this 4 year old series. PS: Gab, if you read this, thank you and say hi to BB for me, hope he's doing well.
I saw her Clock Tower video from back in 2014, I think it was, and her speech has changed so much. A lot smoother. Interesting to see how people can change over the years.
Re-watching your Alien Isolation playthroughs again because IM OBSESSED/IN LOVE WITH THIS GAME!!!! 😍 And I’m currently playing it again for the 4th time!! :D
I love this game very much. I stopped my gameplay at nearly 70% of the game in "Normal Mode". I have to finish it when I have more time for playing. I hope this will happen soon. Fingers crossed.
I recently found your channel and binge watched your first play through of this game. I dont like playing steath games, but i like to watch them and I am a huge Alien fan! I will watch this play through also. Looking forward to the rest of your vids.

The earliest the alien can kill you is after it killed the bald man in the tutorial. If you make noise or hang around too long it will come out and kill you. The next time the Alien can kill you is after you get the hack tool working. It comes down to kill the other NPCs. If it sees you it will attack you and kill you. On harder difficulties it will be active on the map after killing them, popping in and out of the vents. The medical ward "introduction" is not the actual introduction of the alien. I don't know why people think it is.
If you do the math the Narcissus was drifting for 15 years after the Nostromo incident and it didn't get picked up for another 32 and Sevastopol station is between Acheron/Lv246 Zeta 2 Reticuli and the Frontier where Amanda works. They must have flown past her mother on the way to get the blackbox. Hope you don't mind me saying the game sound level is too quite compared to your mic, perhaps you could level it out.
Damn. I googled it because it made me scratch my head, and yeah Disney now owns 20th century fox film so technically yes Disney owns Alien... Disney is taking over the world man 🤯
Just when I thought I was running short on Gab content! It's been a while since you last played Alien Isolation so I'm excited to see how this will turn out!!
24 frames is about the standard for films. You think they might have been trying to mirror that in the cutscenes? I mean it could just be tech limitations but it’s fun to guess.
Every single time I load this game up on my PS4 sheer terror strikes my heart beating it on nightmare mode was one of the most for filling and satisfying things I’ve ever done love this game to bits
Most people who are playing Alien Isolation on nightmare mode forget their healing completely. :) If your healing is very low you will die instandly by any attack from each enemy. So you will get way more deaths in this game without using medkits. On nightmare mode you have to know when you need a medkit. But great lets play, it's very funny. :)
I started this series in 2021 to take my mind off of the tornado sirens, and I've gotta say thank you you being so soothing. Even though it's a horror game, you still make me feel more relaxed
34:54 That's a Chiappa Rhino. They're weird revolvers because the bullets go into the barrel from the bottom of the cylinder instead of the top. They, like Steyr AUG rifles are used in scifi stuff because they look futuristic.
I'm replaying Nightmare mode again so I had to rewatch your Nightmare run again since you're one of my favorite gamers, and I'm doing this after The Evil Within on Akumu mode...STRESS like you like to say, but I love it and your playthroughs.
Hello from the dystopian future! I came here by way of The Algorithm after rewatching Drayux's speedrun of this game from SGDQ 2020. Thanks for the content! Looking forward to a cozy survival horror night-in-lockdown.
i love this game because it has the aesthetic of the original films.. great playing skill and play through. cans are best 7:08 .. your laugh is like Al Chestbreach lol
As far as I know he played it in his freetime back when it came out. (And he played one mission in VR on the channel) Not sure if he wants to revisit it just so that we can see it. It's an older game so it probably doesn't bring in the views. I wouldn't get my hopes up.
Rewatching this playthrough cause it's such a good game! Don't know if you'll ever see this Gab but you inspired me to play Alien in Nightmare mode oh so long ago. Became my absolute favorite game and now I'll be streaming it on twitch (in Nightmare of course) for my first stream ever! I'm super excited! So thank you for inspiring me to play this game ❤
I have watch AI sooooo many times on UA-cam already that I can dream what is going to happen (in normal mode) and what you have to do... yet when I finally bought the game myself, i was scared shitless and started over on easy. haven't played it in forever because it made my heart beat uncomfortably fast.
Sorry to burst your bubble but it isn’t Sigourney Weaver who voices Ellen in Alien Isolation it’s an actress called Andrea Deck, she does work on the audio books too... she sounds just like her it’s spooky! I Love the atmosphere of the game and the whole look, just like Alien! They did an amazing job, one of my all time favourite games! 👍🏻
Doh! I was mixing up Ellen and Amanda, I defer to you and to google! 😂 I know that in a lot of the audio books there is a voice actor who plays Ellen Ripley, who isn’t Sigourney Weaver , and she is AMAZING, sounds just like her, I would have sworn it was her but my husband told me it wasn’t her!
Shame about The Witcher 3. I BINGE played the entire game + the DLC and I have to say with 100% confidence that it is the greatest game that I have ever played. It is really worth playing even if its "too long" there is so much that the game does right that other RPGs just don't do. Plus the DLC is better than most games (adding some skins, some new weapons, or a level) The Witcher 3 adds fun weapon slot enchantments, an engrossing narrative led by Gaunter O'Dimm that expands upon the character which you meet early on in the main game and pretty much never hear from until the DLC Hearts of Stone. Then, Blood and Wine opens up an entire map of the nation of Toussant, new monsters, a story surrounding vampires, you get your own vineyard estate, & you can extend your mutagen abilities. I went through and completed every single ? on the map, I found and eliminated every monster nest, slew every enemy I crossed and had nothing left to do. I have 315 hours logged for the game and it was well worth the time.
sometips for nightmare mode, you can't see map so make sure you already memorize everything from previous run. Dont try hide in locker or vent went you face xeno, if you hide in locker you'll most likely always detected and forced to lose some health because holding breath and there is very little source to craft medkit in nightmare (im only able to craft 2 the entire gameplay), and if try you hide in vent usualy xeno will intercept you in your exit path so try only by breaking sight from the xeno either hiding behind boxes, walls, or even under the table are much effective. I just do the same like you this month by going from normal, hard then nightmare, Good luck :)
I’m so happy to watch you playing this awesome game again!! And on nightmare mode!!! I know you can do it! You’re the best, Gab! Excited for the next videos 🤩👏🏽
Just bought this again for the ps4 and I'm gonna try again!! I got it when it originally came out but I was still new to games like this and eventually I got SUPER stuck in the damn Working Joe area, ugh! Let's see if I'm successful this time!
Emmanuel Enriquez lol oh wow I never got any notifs about a reply to that original comment until now, but I’m happy to report I’ve played & beaten it twice since then. It’s such a good game I keep going back!
I recently built a new box with a nicer processor and graphics card, and I was surprised about the low frame rate on the beginning cutscene, despite the rest of the game being smooth as silk.
I recently just finished this game. Loved it so much only I made the mistake of getting 1/4 way through the game without saving, dying and having to start again. 😭
Hi Gab! Your playthrough has inspired me to play this game for the 1st time, and I need your 'pulling a Gab' luck lol. I'm struggling a bit in the lobby section with those humans & their guns. So annoying! The game itself is really good - especially the sound effects from the movies.
That part where you talk to Verlai I had a glitch happened to me as well where Samuels got stuck in that lab room thingy. Amanda and Taylor where already there to talk to Verlaine but Samuels wasn't showing up and nobody was talking at all they were just standing there and I didn't realized it after a few minutes later and I pass by the lab room and he was still there as if he got stuck lol. Had to re-do that part again.
I really wanted to like this game, but I couldn't take it when I kept dying and having to go back 10min to my most recent save point... over and over again.. could not save any more recently... so annoying LOL So I will satisfy myself watching your play through! :)
With the way this game ends, i wonder if the extended scene in Aliens where they tell Ripley that Amanda lived to 80-ish years old is true or if that was something Weyland-Yutani said as a cover up.
@David Roberts So you assume it was a language error and not a conceptual error? Maybe. But people have a lot of conceptual errors when it comes to outer space: Star Trek and Star Wars depicting explosions making sound, for example.
I like to think that in Easy Mode you can put on a moustache or sunglasses and say to the alien "She went that way"
I watched someone play easy mode with mods and still get pulled out of lockers more times than I can recount, and saw his heartrate get up to 147 after a rather low-key scare but it was during the nerve wracking The Hunt. i just love how much attention to detail they put into this game to capture the feel of the films. feels so authentic.
So true! Feels like Alien should feel! Scares the hell outa me lol
According to some devs, apparently they had over 1TB of unreleased footage and assets from the original movie to work with! It's super fucking cool!
Me at the alien introduction: scared shitless
Gab: "Oh, there's gum under the desk!"
Not really surprising since she did finish the game several times already
I loved how they did Ripley. We definitely NEED more Alien games from this developer.
I wish but it doesn’t sound like it’s going to happen unfortunately.
@@jaybird5001 I think mainly it’s because the game didn’t sell as well as they hoped it would from what I’ve read

Great video xx
