    www.revzilla.co...
    Öhlins was founded in 1976 by motocross rider Kenth Öhlins who was busy designing exhausts, engines, and suspensions to give him a “go fast” advantage. Over the years Öhlins has developed a reputation for building some of the highest quality suspensions available. Their steering dampers utilize the same attention to detail and technology as employed with their suspensions. An Öhlins steering damper offers an easy to use, easy to install option that is a premium upgrade improving handling over your stock unit.

    Just pick up my 2019 ZX6R !!! Got the Ohlins steering damper installed and ready to ride. I was just gathering some info on the Ohlins damper for knowledge. Thanks for the video!!!
    Got frame sliders as well.

    Just picked one of these ups for my 09 R6. Always thought it was crazy that it never came with one stock but I am glad I got this one. My only complaint is the price, but this is the best money can buy so I hope it is worth it!

    Quick question, just installed this on my bike. Even at the weakest settings, turning the steering is VERY difficult. I admit that I bought it used. What do you think the problem is? I was told that at the weakest settings, it should feel like the damper is not there.

      Maybe your stabilizer needs service,try to check the fluid inside,and yes at 0scale out of 18,it should feel like thereis not even on the bike,also check your tire pressure,and your front suspension is set correctly,as an owner of a ninjaZX10R I have this ohlins scale 10 of 18,and still 2nd and 3rd gear close to rev limiter I feel strong vibrations,adjust it to your own riding style,ride safe cheers!

    Since you folks sell to All types of Motorsports, perhaps you can weigh-in. Why are linear-style dampers Not seen on dirt/enduro/Dual-Sport bikes ? They are often OE on sportbikes; but, on off-road it seems that folks rely almost exclusively on ‘pod-type’ (e.g. Scotts) ….. 🤔

    1. Do you recommend putting a steering damper on a 2016 Ninja 300 KRT ABS? Ride around 40 MPH speed, mostly in town and occasionally on minor motorways at around 70 MPH. New rider :-)
    2. If yes, will these Ohlins one fit? If not, then do you sell or recommend any which do fit my bike?
    THANK YOU!

    He refers to measuring two time in the vid however I don’t see what you would have to measure and see nothing regarding measuring in the instructions/package. Seems real simple to install, basically swap two bolts and done. Am I missing something? I have a BMW S1000R. thanks

    I have a 07 zx6r and i have one of these installed , came with the bike so i thought i try it out. I put if half way and it was fine through the highway ride in the wide exit turns , you feel the stability but how ever when you are coming to a stop at a light it doesn't let you move the steering left and right quickly to balance the bike , so it makes it feel like its wobbling or about to slide out under you. With that being said what setting should i use it at and should i leave it at that setting or turn it off when im just commuting where there are lot of stop signs and lights?

    • @RevZilla

    Does a steering damper help control your bike when it's windy? I'd assume so but I thought I'd ask. I have an 06 CBR600RR and I'd feel better going on the interstate (mostly a bridge going over the water and it's windy) with one. Would it help or am I just being nervous?

    About how much torque is necessary on the triple clamp steering nut? I have a Yamaha R6 and as I'm riding at slower speeds, the bike feels wobbly. Not sure if it's because it's too tight or too loose as I've had trouble finding the torque spec for my bike. I feel like it was riding better without the Ohilis steering damper.

    nice! intending to get some measurements done to put this up on my XSR900. Due to the common damper clamps on ohlins dampers, do you think the dampers still function the way the should if they are mounted in a somewhat "slanted" position? The damper mount i got comes with a damper clamp that is meant to accommodate round shaped dampers such as hyperpro, china mades, matris, etc. Thanks!

    • @beerbellybenw2245
      @beerbellybenw2245 5 років тому

      I don't seem to be able to find ohlins damper clamps that mount on the mounting kit from the bottom of the clamp. I always see the common "sideway" mounting clamps.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  6 років тому

      It depends on the specific RAM mount you have and how the specific Ohlins damper mounts to your bike. If you use a steering stem RAM mount and the Ohlins damper mounts to your steering stem, then you'd have an issue. Otherwise, you probably won't have an issue if you use a bar-mount RAM mount. -DrewZilla

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  5 років тому

      It depends on the quality of the stock damper and the quality of the aftermarket damper. If a bike has an Ohlins damper as stock, then it's going to be great quality. The stock damper on the ZX6R should be pretty good if I recall correctly. -DrewZilla

      These Chinese one is actually BETTER in some very limited situations. For example many Japanese, Italian and Chinese made "scooters" are rigged with the fake Chinese Ohlins dampers and used (mostly) in "city" driving conditions. The Chinese (admittedly low quality) have FAR less resistance, even at the very lowest Ohlins "click" setting ... Thus, the Chinese made copies will leave city drivers of light weight scooters with faster maneuverability, tighter U turns, etc. than the Ohlins orig. Granted they won't last as long and will degrade in their damping faster than the original Ohlins. But at a 94% discount to Ohlins pricing, just get another one ever 2-3 years. If you you have a 10,000-50,000 dollar motorcycle (or more) and/or are racing your bike, the original might make probably does make good sense, esp for those who are rich and don't care. But there are large segments of the market where the Chinese copies will do just fine, and in SE Asian city driving, even better due to less friction or drag.
