Bought my first roller pole in the early 80's from Woolworths, it's taper fit and still works perfectly. 2 years ago I decided to buy the wooster GT pole and sherlock arm system - fantastic roller and pole, loads better, only problem is after 6 months the roller arms fall apart. Talked it over with the Wooster rep and he informed me it was my fault for leaving the sleeve on the roller after I'd washed it, which caused it to corrode ( he did replace the broken arms for free). That's progress.
Any tips, hints or advice on painting the dude of my property?, Best long reach roller to use?, Pile of roller sleeve?, I'm using sandtex paint, just don't want to get anything wrong 👍
Long pile sleeve if it's rough surface medium pile for anything smooth. Get a pole that can extend and has a screw thread. Also a scuttle rather than a flat tray. Plenty of dust sheets a cloth and a bucket of water. You can use newspapers to wrap up drainpipes. Thanks
I find the biggest issue is trying to save paint by pressing too hard which breaks the pole or the handle as they're not made very well, so not bogarting on the paint is a key way to keeping these working otherwise they just snap :)
@@camdecorations9779 spot on, everywhere seems to sell the plastic shitty types and your average DIY er hasn't the memory to recall where half is stuff is 5 years after he decorated to remember it all broke and to buy better stuff, you have to get to an age to appreciate this stuff ;) all the rollers here are total shite with the black plastic handles ;) you twist as you paint and they come loose , eventually they just come out or the plastic snaps :/ they make you want to pay someone to paint hahahahah whereas decent ones make it a doddle.
The reason they snap is not because there crap or made badly it's due to the fact that the operator the person using it has no idea how to use them ..there's no need to push hard on them let the roller do the work 😉
@@peteramond3358 Sure you can work like a fairy with em and they last longer, it's not just the pushing hard it's the fact that the joint into the plastic handle that the roller fits into is shit, there's never a metal collar in there just plastic, so as it moves back and forth it loosens until it just spins round, specially after a few ceilings:/ just trash. Very helpful. And thank you for showing a repair. Nice to see someone not just chucking tools and buying new ones. It's not just about the money.
Thank you.. waste not want not.. beat way..
Aluminium roller definitely the way to go, Pam swears by em and won’t use anything else 😂👍
Good advice, thanks

I find the quality has dropped in all painting equipment. Nothing seams to last.
i found the easy way to use the roller is i used a 10 litter paint container with a grid found it a lot easy .
