this may be an unpopular opinion, but the story of adinon is the greatest diss track of all time because it vastly improved the life of drakes child imo
I mean if you want a diss track that contributed to the greater good, there you go
If a diss track doesn't vastly improve a child's life, is it even a diss track? 💯

the story of adidon has to at least be mentioned. it may not be the best musically, but i would argue that no other disses successfully landed on someone as big as drake. on top of that, every part of that diss from the story of oj beat, to the cover art, to even his opening and closing lines work perfectly

I’m surprised nobody’s talking about how Kanye literally took a beat that he knew Drake wanted and turned it into a song where all the lyrics are “poopity scoopity” the brilliant pettiness of that move alone makes it one of the best in my eyes

Ok but like fr we just not gonna mention The Story Of Adidon? Questioned Drake's blackness, called him out for being a deadbeat like his dad was to him, and revealed to the world that he had a son. Probably the greatest diss track of all time.
Yea fr I was surprised it wasn't even mentioned
The greatest diss track of all time has to end or at least put a dent in someone’s career. Drake arguably became even bigger after the beef and is overshadowing pusha at this point

Fr anthony just baiting these comments by not putting it in the video lol
It was just new info, no real disses
The fact that Ice Cube’s “No Vaseline” wasn’t mentioned is an absolute sin. It is the single most important diss track in all of rap, it popularized diss tracks and really set the standard for what they should contain. Unlike a lot of diss tracks that are just pointless nonsensical beef, No Vaseline addressed actual problems and drama between artists of easily the most iconic rap group in history. Ice Cube ditched the sinking ship of NWA, got shat on my former friends, and then completely dismantled not only them and the entire group, but even their manager, to the point where No Vaseline is the single largest factor in NWA initiating its end. The vitriol in Ice Cubes tone and rhymes is nearly unmatched by any other track, and the track itself doesn’t attempt to be anything it’s not. It’s very forthright, very focused on the beef itself instead of trying to be clever and funny to win the listener over.
Plus, ice cube left nwa and then proceeded to release three of the most iconic rap albums in the entire genres history consecutively. His diss track hits harder than anything else
True but that song is insanely homophobic and anti semetic, but then again so was a lot of 90s rap
@@isaiahromero9861 and so is a lot of rap today still. It’s a diss track, politically correct rules don’t really apply to the judgement of the track

In the Spanish language, the ultimate diss war was between Fito Paez and Joaquin Sabina, after they made a disastrous collab album. For context, imagine if Billy Joel and Tom Waits (but with Joel-level popularity) going at each other. They didn't just exchange bars, but stanzas. As in, Sabina wrote a diss poem.
Mr. Grinch is the greatest diss track of all time, and nothing could ever change my mind.

To me Ice Cube's "No Vaseline" stands as one of the most brutal diss tracks, yeah there's a lot of problematic lines and jabs that have aged like milk and weren't ok even back then but that single Diss track schooled the 2 diss tracks NWA did, was the final word of that feud and then NWA disbanded while Ice Cube was on the top of his game throughout the 90's. Think about that.
That song was vicious. It's right up there with Hit Em Up in terms of how fiery and pissed off it sounds.

100% best diss track of all time
Easily the hardest diss!
It's not
It's a great diss track but diss tracks should cause a negative effect on your career
With drake, it only made him bigger
@@Gintoki_Madao I'd argue it's impossible to do that to drake because his career isn't really built on rap but built on pop. mainstream chart listeners don't really care who bodied who really. Drake is "too big to fail" so I don't think it's fair to rate drake diss based on how it affects his popularity. It embarrassed him and really exposed him as inauthentic and cringe. Plus the fact that pusha forced drake into revealing his son and made him look like a deadbeat (and also it potentially ruined a deal with adidas for him, which would've been a big bag) was absolutely more brutal than hurting his sales in my opinion.
@@gpu213 yeah, but people don't care about that... They bring up sales all the time... Drake even won artist of the decade.
Pusha T's diss was great, it just didn't dent Drake's career
Look at No Vaseline, Killshot, they did damage
But all in all, you have a point
It’s Sam Hyde’s Anthony Fantano diss
right hand on the bible
Everyone brings up “Killshot” for Eminem, but that was nothing compared to “Quitter” or “Nail in the Coffin”. Some of the angriest shit I’ve ever heard him say.
“It’s not that we don’t like you, we HATE you. Period.”
Or the line where he reprimands Benzino for not selling crack anymore cause he’d make more money from it than he does rapping lmao
Couldn’t agree more
Don’t forget “I remember”
"Girls"
Unpopular opinion -I love Em but killshot sucks, even MGK's diss was better
Yeah, nail in the coffin is probably his best diss track and it's waaay more personal and insulting than Killshot, it's one of the best oat
Everyone always forgets the brutal verbal assault against MC Eiht that was DJ Quiks “Dollars+sense”. To sum it up in his own words “E-I-H-T now should I continue, yea you left out the G cause the G ain’t in you”
dj quikster very underrated so true
Top 5 diss track without a doubt
I don't think that his fanbase known who is Dj Quik or MC Eiht.... Fuck Wit Dre Day, No Vaseline, Bitch In Yoo, Super Ugly.... So many diss tracks that need to be mentioned
Yo he told him he was alright sucking on the tip if he did it. That's sus.
This right here. Plus the commercial success of the song adds to it. What other diss record can still be heard on the radio
Story of Addidon was the best, most ruthless, and lazer focussed diss track. A diss so effective a child gained a father. No contest. The stuff about 40 was evil and the most vicious attack I’ve heard in any decade of rap.
Honestly, Death On Two Legs by Queen is absolutely insane. That song is such a big “Fuck you” to their record label at the time and just pulls zero punches, it’s absolutely amazing and I really don’t think that I’ve heard Freddie Mercury that angry before. And this is off the same record that gave us classic Queen tracks like You’re My Best Friend, and of course Bohemian Rhapsody just to give context about when it came out
honestly as much as I love what All Too Well represents in the Swift-verse, I gotta say Dear John and I Bet You Think About Me are better diss tracks in the sense that they're far pettier and overall more straight-to-the-jugular. All Too Well is more a reflection of a breakup with a few call outs here and there, while in Dear John she straight-up calls out John Mayer for grooming her and IBYTAM is basically a 4-minute Jake Gyllenhaall roast about how pretentious and bland he truly is. "I'm shining like fireworks over your sad empty town" and "I don't have to be your shrink to now that you'll never be happy" are SAVAGE lines.
What do you mean grooming her. Taylor asked for dater to john
@@Robo_Cop_YT John was in his thirties, Taylor was 19
I’d agree. Dear John is next level. More passion in it, but it’s hard to say that because ATW10MV was released like a decade after the actual event, so she did not have the same anger towards JG in that. If she dropped ATW10 in 2012? Different story.
I think "Bad Blood" was a great diss track too
Dear John doesn't t really count because John Mayer obliterated her. Morrisette had a way better disstrack
Despite Exodus 23:1 not being a totally direct diss track, its does its job perfectly as a subtle diss. I mean, it annoyed Wayne and drake, and forced them to clap back, in this sense, this is just one of the many yet important things that led up to "Story of Adidon" which is a pretty direct and brutal diss track
I've always loved "Exodus" the lyrics may not be packed full of disses...but it's so dark, bleak, and sparse...very skeletal and cold...the vibe is just...wow
name checks out lmao
Also - story of adidon dropped exactly 6 years after exodus 23:1 - to the day.
As a Christian I thought this was some sh*t post joking about God being sassy or something lol
"Pretty direct" lmao this track was literally "Fuck u, fuck yo dad, you got a pornstar baby momma, damn your poor child go take care, man your poor mother what would she think, oh and your producer is dying and I think it's funny"

After this last week, one of these Kendrick tracks should be in the top 5 all time
Carly Simon’s You’re So Vain is the ultimate diss track and I’m upset it is not in this video.
I think a criteria is it’s blatant who the diss is directed towards. This and Remind You seem more written from a “this is about the feelings of this situation” rather than “this is directed to this specific person” being deeply tied into the song. Death on 2 Legs- also has that feel but isn’t blatant enough as to who it’s directed towards for me to call it a diss track.
The Story of Adidon is fucking cruel. It’s as clever as the more lighthearted cuts like Killshot while being more cutthroat than hardcore diss tracks like Hit ‘Em Up

In a 4 minutes song, there's like 3 minutes of repeated filler verse fading-out.
And then you got The Warning in response. That shit was hard. Like "life shattering" hard. Like "and then she shut the fuck up forever about that" hard! Such a great record, shame she aint drop more albums.
She dragged him across that whole album really. Lost Ones was where she really let him have it though. This sounds really interessting. Can you tell me the name of some of these Songs?
The Oracle by Mase, Acknowledge from Masta Ace or even Pest Control from The Game should definitely get some mentions
I know the subject of Eminem has been beaten to death, but I don't understand how anyone can leave out Em's diss to Everlast in "Quitter". That is, hands down, the most brutal diss track ever. Eminem has a ton of great diss tracks. Quitter, Bully, Can I Bitch, The Sauce, Hailie's Revenge, (especially) Go To Sleep, etc.
@@alysdaxei Yes, and none is as brutal as Quitter. In "Quitter", he literally tells Everlast that he would punch him in the heart as he had a heart attack, and tells fans to hit him with sticks and stones and kill him. The sheer viciousness of Quitter is absolutely savage.

You outta know is strong vibes, but I'm not sure it's much of a diss track, she doesn't really say much specific about the dude. It's mostly how great she is and how he lied to her.
Not Similar to Ourselves
the fact that "eff grand dad" by thugnificent was left out is damn near criminal. plus it had a legendary nate dogg hook. easily top 5
When you were talking about old punk sonsg openly dissing politicians it reminded me of that Suicidal Tendancies song "I Shot The Devil" where Mike literally sings about shooting Reagan
I recently learned that "Rockin' the Suburbs" by Ben Folds was a diss track towards Korn, Limp Bizkit, and all the angsty nu-metal bands of that era. It's pretty genius looking back at it!
I legitimately never thought of it like that. I always thought he was taking the piss out of himself.
Weird that No Vaseline or Story of Adidon didn't show up considering they are two of the most iconic disses of all time
Yeah, those 2 + some other disses like Takeover, Ether, and Real Muthaphuckkin G's definitely deserved a mention
The Lil B track against Kevin Durant is amazing and hilarious and I'm so glad it got mentioned.
I love how Peggy is an active member of the community.
Ya'll forgot Stormzy bodied Wiley twice in a week and drank a cup of tea while doing it.
That was hard
I was looking for this. Still disappointed was brutal
Bagpipes from Baghdad is still one of the most vile and funny disses to come out of early 2000s em
Oooooo the album King Cobra by Brian Ennals and Infinity Knives has several songs with bars going at politicians. Also an entire song about a landlord. Most of the songs have underlying political themes. No idea if it was even out when you made this vid. Just wanted to shout them out.
Father John Misty "Pure Comedy" vs the Human Race is the best diss track ever made
El-P dissing Sole in Linda Tripp. Starting the track off with the secret phone recording of Sole pitifully apologizing to El-P was one of the most ruthless things I've ever heard.
I would have always said Benzino diss by Eminem but as of late it’s got to be Anthony fantano diss ;))
Crooked I had a snoop Dogg diss that was fire..forgot what's it's called but he had a line
" for shizzle my nizzle, bless you my nephew, God damn that's his first verse and his next two"
