The clamp for the headset is for carbon steerer tubes found on high end road forks. A regular star nut style would mar the steerer tube and possibly damage it.
I never heard it called a stylus until I got back into records recently. In all fairness I grew up in a household that didn't exactly know how and what everything works or what it's called. My mom used a taped dime on the cartridge. I'm sure you get the picture now.🤷♂️😆
Heads up. Those bars have alot of backsweep at 12° and the upsweep is 6°. They may feel funny compared to a better bar you may have on other bikes. Merry Christmas WT Nation!
I just bought adapter end caps. 9x100. 9 to 15. Adapters. Then you can buy 15x100 through axles rims and it makes it QR instead of through axle. Then you can buy an upgraded fork that's mostly thru axle or boost rim
I’m 290 lbs I wouldn’t put a $13 stem or a cheap handlebar in there. You are more of a small build but I wouldn’t risk it for me, knowing how much more weight and impact I’d put on that front end. I do have an OTR with the rockshox recon silver RL and love it!
Yeah, I usually mention stuff like that while filming but sometimes The Tick edits it out. Myself being a bigger guy I definitely look at things differently than The Tick does. I will admit that after messing with so many "budget stems" I don't worry as much as I used to on stems but I would if I rode like a younger person.
Just ordered my first ever air fork from jenson. I went with 120mm recon rl tapered boost 115x110 thru axle. It was just under 200 out the door as an oem take off 2022 model. Should suit my axum nicely.
Woah, woah, woah has the Wolfman got a new Audio Technica LP70x ? That TT gets great reviews and easy to upgrade with different styli. Been too long since we have had a ramble.
Haha, I immediately thought of you when I opened it. That was a gift from The Tick for Christmas. I hope to have plenty of Ramblings going on soon. The Tick is insisting on doing the edits so we have a bit of a bottleneck going on at the moment.
Love that opener, if that was the Tick doing that, Wolfman would have lost his ever loving marbles. The bar was only $23.99 not $30...lower your cost by $7.
Because you're avoiding the Chinese market, there's a company called Magicbros that does a 27.5/29" boost XC/Trail air fork called Victor. It comes in 120 or 140mm travel, 34mm stantions. They produce their own inhouse dampers that they sell aftermarket to even revive old oil bath Bombers. Multi thread pitches for caps. That alone differentiates them as a brand compared to cheap Bucklos/etc. The stantions are advertised as quite thick (no paper thin self-destruction issues hopefully). It's very stiff. Two part bolt-thru (boot and nut). I've got it on an exercise bike for light trails. Very stiff action when pumped up for heavier riders. But light, stiff and cheap for bikes that need 120 or 140mm.
Wow! That's crazy! Hopefully you can find some deals out there somewhere. Sorry that our findings aren't applicable to our fellow Wolftick Nation members in Canada. Thanks for watching our nonsense🙏👍🏻
You guys ever try the Oury lock on grips? Or any oury grips? Have used them for years and currently have them on my quad, 3 wheeler and comp x. Hope you guys have a Merry Christmas!
In all fairness I grew up in a very non-audiophile family and had never heard it called a stylus before. As a matter of fact my mom had the whole dime taped to the Cartridge thing going on, if that helps to paint the picture.😆 I guess you could say that it was or is Fork Day Eve, haha.
When ordering the Judy it is always a bit of a crap shoot on what you will get. In our experience it's always been this way with the Judy for some reason.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Def a great fork for the money. I picked up 1 in 170mm a few years ago and converted it to 150mm. It's been so solid I grabbed another last winter for 279 bucks.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Realistically I knew the Jeson sales were better because I was kind of considering them for a Schwinn Axum. ...Never did pull the trigger I don't really want to buy the thru-axel wheel to go with one. And if I had a better fork then I would want an advent clutch derailleur, and then if the bike was that capable I might as well put a dropper post etc. :P
The start was hilarious. You two remind me so much of my father and I.
Haha, thanks man! We always love to hear that.
Those are for carbon forks where you can't use a star nut. It expands to provide equal pressure against the carbon tube.
Makes sense. Thanks
Don't roll your eyes, audiophile is a real hobby!
Merry Christmas Wolf and Tick.
You tell em!!! Merry Christmas!😆👍🏻
I laughed my ass out when Jeremiah called the Wolfman, Wolfman.
Yeah, that was strange wasn't it?😆 I swear he does things just to keep me on my toes! 🤷♂️
He did Disney
I know that was perfect
That thing with the headset is for carbon fiber, fork, instead of a star nut
Makes sense. Thanks for the info.
Nice fork. Very nice for the price.
We agree!👍🏻

I can appreciate any talk about vinyl records and turntables, Its another love of mine, as well as bikes
Thanks! I will make sure that The Tick sees this comment!😆👍🏻
I have the domain sitting in my closet getting ready to go onto my Norton, That was a killer deal when i got it.
Smart to grab these forks when they or on great sales and use them when you have the right situation.
Way to go on the fork!! Merry Christmas you guys! 🎅🎄
Thanks man! Merry Christmas!
When you were looking at forks it was funny the first picture was actually a 13 1/2 fork 😊
Hahah, we thought so too!
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!
Nice work guys!
Thanks! We have enjoyed this style of shopping for budget upgrades.
Love the videos, I'm finally gonna get the Ridge MTB
Thanks man! It's really not a bad bike for the money. Make sure you get the M.2 version with the Acolyte derailleur.
Need to see how yall do the fork swap.. following every step of the way!😊
Great opener! And I've only known it as a stylus and since Wolfman is still a young man compared to me, it's been a long time.

Love the ridge
We are fans of it as well.

The Tick was wanting something kind of BMX inspired so it's sort of a compromise. Merry Christmas!
The fork I’m looking is the Marzocchi Bomber Z2 at Jenson for $200, marked down from $400 something. And yes, I’m on a low budget…retired
Great fork!! At two bills that fork is an absolute banger!

Yeah we have some of those as well. They are very useful in cases that you need them for sure.
@WOLFTICKVIDEOS love the channel guys. Glad 🐺 man is doing well Merry Christmas 🎄
Have links to those adapters?

My thought on the drivetrain is that if it’s not broke, don’t fix it. After all, it’s a budget build. The $119 Judy is a steal.
We will count your vote as keep with the T9. Thanks Lebron!🙏 Merry Christmas

I got named dropped at the end 🤣. From what I've read and heard it's a very good TT. At some point upgrade to the Eliptical stylus and call it a day.

@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Did he go for the Duracell colour way?

Much as i love my manitou machete, that $119 rockshox is the way to go.
Right! I still can't believe that price!

I'm not sure what they are but I'm going to buy them anyway
I seriously might consider that 29' Judy fork for my Al Comp......Why not? Of course it will change the geometry but it's really tempting.
I couldn't believe that we found it for that price! For a buck twenty it would be smart to order it even if you don't plan on using it right away.
can't pass up the rockshox for that price. Shame about the manitou, it's what i put on my bike and i really like it.
Both are great deals for that price for sure! Can't go wrong either way.
The comment above Jose says tapered 100mm qr. hope this helps.
I'm not sure what we should do first why don't we take a look at those pedals don't feel good yeah and I'm glad that I'm here let's roll this video
What I learned from this video is that bike parts are a rip off in Canada. Everything here is like less than half as much as I can get it for.

Merry Christmas! We definitely need to get ourselves some and try them out. A few people have suggested them now.
C'mon old man. They called it a stylus since back in the day. I have the same one. Merry Christmas! ...so wait. was yesterday Fork Day Eve??

How do you serve up cups of coffee
We have a link in our description of the video. Merry Christmas and thanks in advance🙏
You two remind me of the characters from the movie "Surfs Up" Cody Maverick and Big Z. I am sure you can decipher the two.
You want the weight not the rise I don't know the wolfman says be at the box I'm not sure
My chain broke and I lost it can you tell me what size chain I need for the stock drive chain
Ok le manopole korky costano solo 9 dollari ma pure io le avevo acquistate e sono durate troppo poco 😢 comunque bellissimi i tuoi video❤
Thanks, man! We have actually had pretty good luck with our Corki grips in the past. Not the best grips, but at $9 they aren't bad.
Second
🥈👍🏻
20 year old stanchion size is not a no brainer, lol.
It is for a RockShox Judy Silver TK 120MM at $119! The only downside is the 30mm stantions and limited rebound adjustment.
What does call system love album by the many I suppose let's get on with the show
Get yourselves a Rockshox Yari for 249 on Jensen usa.
We would love to review and rate that fork! Maybe if it's still on special after this build.👍🏻
