- Have you taken the new Xinbaal Mayan Train (Tren Maya) in Mexico yet? In this video, I am going to take you along with me as I ride from Cancun Airport Train Station all the way to Merida Teya Airport Station. Along the way we will stop at Leona Vicario, Nuevo Xcán, Valladolid, Chichen Itzá, Izamal, and the Tixkokob stations. As we travel along, I will:
-Tell you the best way to get there [whether that is via taxi, DiDi, Uber, or a Free or ADO Shuttle bus from the airport or the city center]
-Tell you how and when to get a ticket for the train, as well as what discounts are available to who
-Give you a tour of the entire train
-Give you the prices for all food and beverages on the train
-Show you the difference between tourist class seats and premier class seats
-Explain which seats I think are the best or most optimal for each route, in either direction
-Show you the speed of the train as well as the speed of the wifi
Upon exiting the train at Merida, I will show you the entire station as well as how you can catch the affordable cheap cool new electric IE Tram shuttle bus into the City Center via the La Plancha station. I will let you know how much the tickets will cost you, where to purchase them, as well as how to get the best deal for an IE Tram ticket in the future.
I will show you all the features of the train and bus so that you are fully prepared on your journey with the Tren Maya!

The train is super modern! What a massive project, nowhere in Latin America do you see something like that. A ride of almost one thousand miles. Imagine when the restaurant trains and the trains with private bedrooms start service… simply something you have to try. 🇲🇽👏🏻👏🏻
@frenchnavy1 I couldn't agree with you more! What an amazing feat for Mexico! I can't wait for the Janal & P'atal trains to be added to the fleet. I would absolutely take them; just for the experience! 🚆 So cool!
I watched the video about this train going from Merida to Cancun and it seemed like there was only 10 people on it. I think we need to drop the prices
I am sure the many people of Mexico who are mired in poverty, corruption, and lawlessness are thinking about this amazing train every day.
@@DegoHX Nice, big bridges don't cure poverty or fix corruption.
Your explanation is very complete so that there are no doubts, welcome. 🇲🇽
Thank you! 😊
Mexico is booming!
Couldn't agree more @cesur1149 👏🏽
Maybe for the drug lords and the rich in Polanco, but not for the average Mexican who has to deal with crime, corruption, poor education, poor health care, low wages, and no access to a functioning legal system. Time to be real! So sad when 'you-know-who' told the frightened people of Tabasco that the federal government will not help them because 'drug dealers are people, too'.
The people benefitting from the 'boom' are the same folks who have always benefitted: the rich in Polanco and the PRI, only these days it is the ex-PRI folks who joined Morena to make money off of sole-source contracts for projects like Tren Maya.
The average Mexican is struggling under poverty, corruption, and lack of public safety. And, organized crime is taking over control of more and more of Mexico. Another six years of Morena means organized crime will come to control all of Mexico and the 4th transformation will then be complete.
Wow this is very detailed and very helpful! Thank you.
Thank you! 😊 Glad you found it helpful.
So, the tren was good? Very nice and informative video.
Thank you! Yes. It was quite an enjoyable experience.
Muchas Gracias @CHIVAC0LA
Excellent video and great information. Love your charming disposition and how well you explain things. I really appreciate the train seat information in particular. I plan to fly into Cancun next week and take the ADO bus to Valladolid so I can spend a couple nights and also visit Chichen Itza. Afterwards I plan to take Tren Maya to S.F. Campeche and spend a couple days, and then hop train again for final leg to Palenque. Your video will certainly make me feel more confident about where I'm traveling. Thanks
You are very welcome! 😊 Thank you for the kind compliments and commendation. Your trip sounds amazing! I hope you enjoy your time here in Mexico; as well as your train ride🚊🇲🇽
We went to Cancun and saw the massive project. Our next tour will be to travel the peninsula
Thank you for making this video! I don't enjoy feeling lost when going somewhere new so this will definitely help us when we get the chance to travel on the Tren Maya!
Thanks for video you explain everything really good 👍🏻 😊
Thank you! 😊
“A beer called Montejo…” it’s the beer of Yucatán!! :)
😂 Good to know.👌🏽 That was our first time ever seeing it. We'll have to try it!!
Great video. Thanks for the detailed info.
No problem! 😊 Glad to help.
Aaliyah , your explanation was very good!! Excelente!🎉
Thank you!
Very detail and informative. Thanks
Muy completo, gracias.👍
De nada. 😊 Gracias a ti.
This reminds me of trains in China
Hola buen trabajo muy completa tú información te felicito muy profesional 🎉🎉🎉🎒👒🦜🎈
Muchísimas Gracias José Luis! 😊
Very good!!, muy bien chica, muy bueno e informativo el video👍🏻
Muchisímas Gracias! @kernantaurus4621 😊
Hi, excellent and detailed information. Thank you for your observations.
Thank you for the compliment. You are very welcome! 😊
Ty. Train seating diagram helped👍
T 4 looks to have the better facing forward seats. T2 has the seats facing back. I noticed that when buying the ticket, it will default to T 2 which would probably explain why it fills up faster.
Very helpful: thank you
Thank you! 😊 I'm glad it was helpful.
Great video
Thank you! 🙏🏽
Great video. Maybe you can explain why you wanted to move to Mexico. And why you channel is called mixed. Is it easy for you communicating in Spanish in Mexico.
Mexico is a Spanish speaking country, communicating in Spanish should be easy.
I was surprised, I was expecting that the train would be sold out. .. With that said, do you think buying a ticket at the station the day of one's trip is a safe bet. Thanks for this great video.
Thank you @livingintorontorealestate I was surprised too. It could just be dependent on the day of travel. We traveled on a Tuesday, so it wasn't nearly as busy as the Thursday-Monday trains, but I think it's very possible to still buy a ticket at the station day of [as long as you do so at least 31 minutes before take off].
TRASPORTE PÚBLICO/CANCUN
A través de Laguna Y HASTA AERPUERTO /TREN
Thank you for the info, I have two questions…
How do you get from the hotel zone to the train? Is Uber working in Cancun? I hear that taxis won’t let them in and passengers were getting attacked.
Do you know how to buy tickets for April from Mérida to Cancun it only allows me for the last days of march
Hi @alepsisfountains6558 Their online portal only allows you to get tickets to certain dates. (Potentially because they still may be ironing out some "kinks" with the system) But they have been updating it; I would just keep checking; or if you can, just plan on getting to the train station in advance to get a ticket in person. I hope that helps! Enjoy your ride! Let us know how it went! 😊
You should also speak on how many Aquifers have been polluted by tearing all the millions of trees
Shut up bot.
@@neurotrollium253 That is what I tell AMLO supporters every day!
@WILL-xl4ik get your facts straight, it’s all China… that did all the work… your here on UA-cam look it up & inform yourself….
@UC9I0j-_u_ZC8DCoXBuk7Ptw who is building the train…Mexico right…. Nothing to do with American companies….. Your President doesn’t want Americans in your country
@WILL-xl4ik The talk is on whether Mexicans will be wise enough to put Sra. Galvez into Los Pinos or make a huge mistake and put AMLO's puppet Sheinbaum into Los Pinos.
Maybe I missed it but what about pets in crates. I have read about pets allowed but I did not see in your video anything about petsense I'm flying into Cancun if my dog in cargo and I wanted to bring him to Merida
I've seen people carrying their dogs inside the train with no crates.
Hi @user-po1ln6jr4l the above comment is correct; you can indeed bring pets onto the train, I reached out to the customer service team when making the video, and they said it is permitted, they just request that the animal be placed in a crate or carrier when possible for greater security. I hope that helps! Let us know how your goes/went! 😊
Great video! But what was the name of that drink? 🍸🍸🍸
Thank you @prayersandmotivation & the drink is called a carajillo 🤤 Delicious!! [if you like the flavor & smell of coffee]
@@MixedinMexico Gracias!
Very good
Thank you! 😊
Amiga ¿Dónde andas?
Oh , almost car crash 1:32 😅😅😅😅
😅 I saw that too!! 😂 I'm so glad someone else noticed it!
The Mayan train destroys the Balkanization project for Mexico...
Geographic mobility is vital to maintain the territorial integrity of a country.
By taking away the train, which worked throughout the republic, under the pretext that "it was not profitable" they took away our geographical mobility, in this way they intended that the regions of Mexico, once isolated, would lose the feeling of identity with the others.
They were already achieving it in the north, even this led to almost all the border states having cecessionist governments that... when the time came they would appeal to "corrupt centralism" to seek the first separation.
But López Obrador came to remind us of the greatness of Mexico, to tell us that we are not lazy or corrupt, but simply that we have been poorly governed. This new nationalist, patriotic sentiment resonated loudly, to the point that when they desperately tried to advance the project, they could no longer find it. response from the people, it was already another Mexico.
Now it's time to return the train, but how? If it started in the center it would support the discourse that appeals to "centralism", if it started in the north, in the event that there was no continuity there it would have stayed, it would not have advanced to the other regions.
Starting it in the South was the best option, because it hurts the northern ego, "Why is there a passenger train in the underdeveloped south and not here?" This would inevitably lead the people of this region to demand a passenger rail network, thereby contributing to the interconnection of the entire country and the restoration of national identity.
But it goes further... Now it extends to Guatemala, which will bring territorial integration between these two countries that in turn will give prosperity and well-being, but El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica will not want to be left out. This in turn opens the door to a possible peaceful annexation (something rarely seen in the world) of the entire Mayan area and later, in a scenario where Panama also collaborates, it could reach Colombia, which by then would already have its own. own passenger network too.
The doors have been opened to the restoration of the territorial integrity of Mexico, but also to the definitive integration of all of America and all thanks to López Obrador.
How can I not be proud of my president?
Isn't the US ashamed that a middle income country was able to pull a 9billion dollar project that will benefit the people from our poorest region while the US has not been able to solve any issue for the past 30 years? In Mexico, they have a government that works for the people. In the US, we used to have a democracy, but after Reagan, we have a plutocracy: the rich have total control of politics and they only pass legislation that benefits them.
sadly its only for tourist THIS IS NOT FOR MEXICANS....mexicans dosnt recived any benefits for this train
The majority are national, foreigners are almost not interested, due to the ecological devastation, something hypocritical since just by coming they have an impact, but it is the reality of current tourism, here in Bacalar there is no foreigner who is interested, and some are going to do photos of the works, to give the train a bad name in their countries, since they are "environmentalists."
The Tren Maya will not have any positive impact on Mexico because the country still cannot provide the basics to most of its citizens. The average Mexican is weighted down by poverty, corruption, poor education, poor health care, low wages, and lack of public safety. No one is interested in dealing with these core issues. When the narcos are taking over more-and-more Mexican territory every day, and the frightened people Tabasco get told the federal government will not help them because 'drug dealers are people, too', the long-term prospects do not look good and the train isn't going to help.
The right name for this must be "TREN DE LA MUERTE"
Mixed In Mexico should change the title for this video ASAP.
Why?
