  • Smooth new filter from Erica Synths the Fusion VCF3 is dark and gooey with surprising features and a wonderfully natural sound.

I dig the Fusion line, have a Fusion vco, the one with 2 tubes. Sounds excellent!
    Cheers for covering these!

Great stuff again Robin. I love your enthusiasm for this stuff - it's contagious (perhaps not the best choice of words at this particular time, but...hey)!

looking forward to your chat with Girts on Thursday
you asked last night for questions for Girts, I was wondering if they have any new DIY modules in the works

Nice filter, does sound lovely, you can tell you like your filters, I want to go further, i want honeycomb face panels, and I might be tempted to a wasp filter, nice vid again Robin

Great video. Will you be doing Fusion Box 2 walkthrough?

The Korg MS-20’s filter isn’t based on a Vactrol (the MVCA in the patch panel is). The MS-20 has an earlier KORG35 IC filter design or an OTA filter in the later models.

Now I need honey coated patch cables. Thanks...

It's easily done you know - but you'll have to keep the windows closed to keep the wasps out! :-)

6:08 I'm still not sure what the tubes are doing. What exactly IS going on? I have the VCF v2 and the tubes driving the sound is the reason for owning it. Never heard of tubes affecting voltages. Odd. Looks killer, sounds great.

The tubes in this are for gain as the input signal goes through the filter. They don’t have anything to do with the actual filter. I’m assuming one drives the input signal for added harmonic distortion so the filter has more to chew on, and one drives the signal on the way out to add some warm tube saturation to the final output.

That knob recording and EOR gate alone makes my wallet hurt. I know you can get separate knob recording modules like the one made by Flame, but building that into a filter is just a brilliant move. Great demo as always, keep it up

think you made a mistake. the title says fcf3 but on the module it's vcf2.

I *love* how it sounds and I may try to get one on that alone. However, the mult and record additions seem odd to me... even gimmicky. The fusion line is usually beautiful in its simplicity, and these additions kind of clutter it up IMO. Furthermore, I would have much preferred a ping trigger in for vactrol madness and/or a resonance cv in if they were trying to fill real estate. I guess I should quit griping and make my own modules.... because it's easy to throw ones blood, sweat and tears into a product and have everyone love it outright. 🤣

If I sound too picky, it means I really want it... but likely can't afford it at the moment. 😫😂

The Record CV thing is actually quite cool, or at least I think so 😀 and it does have a resonance CV input. The mult seems a bit pointless so I’m with you there.

@@MoltenMusicTech thanks for the in-depth demo - just chiming in with David Owle because I'm also wondering how it pings - don't know if you got a chance to try. cheers

The mult is unusual but my guess its there to take advantage of CV knob recorder. You create some complex CV with the knob, patch it into the mult and then around your rack. The module can be a complex LFO. Great video and great module.
