    This brought back so many memories of my early days camping with my kids. They were pretty young like your son. I remember vividly the first time I had to take my son out of the tent overnight to go pee.... every sound was a bear to him. How I miss those days. Wonderful memories.

      Oh awesome. Luckily here in NZ, we don't have bears or snakes. We are pretty much top of the food chain haha

    We love our houses and comforts. I love rain in a tent. I have many tents, a couple are canvas. My favourite is 10' x 10' canvas fully waxed. It's a dream to sleep in when it's raining. The white noise and pattering sounds of large droplets while warn, dry and snug. Nothing beats it. I want to grab a 23Zero Dual swag, like yours but in the 1100mm wide. I alread bought a canvas fly for it.
    Happy camping from Queensland Australia.

      One thing I haven't got is a big canvas tent, might have to put it on the wishlist! Cheers for the comment 🙂

      @@anotteroutdoors There are some good ones on the market. Mine are Campmor brand. Australian canvas, high tensile solid poles on their domes and high tensile clips. Heavy PU bucket floors. When you're sleeping with dothers, it's nice to have extra breathing space and to get dressed in. Not sure what brands you'd have available, but I am not one to go for instant-up tents. The original form of swag was basic bedding inside a canvas sheet. Any swag with a middle pole is a no for me due to difficulty getting in and out. Only reason I would need a swag is for easy overnighters. Good to see swags catch on in the US. They need a lot of design refinement still imo.

    Hi mate, great to see you out with your lad. I'm 69 and still have very fond memories of camping by a river with my dad hunting rabbits, panning for gold and hearing great stories of the area. A lesson he to\aught me was to understand where you are camping and the prevailing winds to set your camp accordingly. Keep at it you present well and the little bloke is a joy. Have a look at Tyler Thompson and his trips with his little bloke. mine young fella is 22 but we stil enjoy a good camp.

      Hey mate, thanks for the feedback. Yeah I will definitely take more notice of the wind next time. At least my young fella will remember this one being a wet and wild adventure 😊

    If you turn the video off when it's raining, you are cutting out the best part. I don't understand why Outdoors UA-camrs don't understand that. "AB Outdoors" a UA-camr in New Zealand climbed to the top fast because he understands. His channel grew by leaps and bounds really fast because of his camps in the rain and showing US the rain. "that was a bit of a rough night" but you don't show your viewers. We do not want a monologue of events; we want to see them for ourselves.

    • @anotteroutdoors
      @anotteroutdoors  2 роки тому +2

      Yep totally understand that. I'll try to film more of it next time. Its really hard to not think "man this is boring, people won't want to see this", but obviously there is some interest there. This particular one was my first real camp in the rain and I realised I'm not that well set up in terms of gear. So everything was wet and wasn't really fun for either of us, which is why we packed up early. I also need to set up some waterproofing for the camera, so I can have it out in the rain a bit too. Onwards and upwards, cheers for the feedback 😊

      @@anotteroutdoors I appreciate your very mature response. I subscribed to your channel when I watched your video. You have GREAT potential. I like how you present on camera. I love love the content. Just need more of it. In fact, I am sitting here watching your catch and cook Snapper video. By the way 20 minutes or longer is great---even an hour. just my opinion from other successful channel I watch.

      @@ArtGardenFoodExpressions thanks, great feedback. It's funny, most of the channels I watch are 30 min "episodes", with fast pased adventures, action, fishing etc. The whole sitting back and enjoying the sounds, nature, scenery and then recording this, is very new to me. With 3 young kids I don't get to experience this "relaxing" much haha

    • @ArtGardenFoodExpressions

      @@anotteroutdoors You are welcome. you are going about it the right way. Take your time. You will appreciate it more and we will appreciate it more because we get to journey with you and watch you grow. At no time should you ever feel pressured to post a video if you do not have the time. By the way, rain helps people who suffer from depression and anxiety or people who can't get out to see nature or people who live in low rain climates. It also helps people to sleep well and relax from a long and hard day. In no way is it boring. It might be boring for you to film so I can totally understand that. I hope you have a great day and thanks for responding.

    Breaking camp in rain is pretty awful.

      Yeah it can be hard. When it's a minimal set up like mine, it's not so bad. But that's what makes the memories!
