    Beautiful. I'm a self-learner on piano, and your various expressions through different sections really makes the piece a journey of emotions

    Pretty cool arrangement! Probably have to modify it to fit with the voice part, but still, interesting to play it only instrumental. Thank you.

    Severely underrated channel, no way you have this much talent yet go so unrecognized. You deserve at least 100k by now.

    Very well played! You were able to convey the feelings of this tune / song through your piano playing very well. Great work, Theal An!

    I'm gonna need to learn how to read sheet music to learn this one 😅

    • @thealanpiano

      How do you normally learn music (e.g. by ear, or something like synthesia)? Anyways, glad you like it!

    • @Camille-23
      @Camille-23 2 роки тому +3

      @@thealanpiano Yeah synthesia or if someone has a tutorial on UA-cam. But if there is only sheet music I use a note sheet to figure it out. Tutorials seem to work the best :)

      I see, thanks for the explanation! I will definitely consider recording and sharing the MIDI files for future videos. (Will need time to find/buy the right equipment though.)
      I do sometimes write down my notes in the video description (but not this one😕), but standalone tutorial videos seem a bit too time-consuming unfortunately. I'm also not a music teacher so my explanations probably won't be very good either haha... Maybe if a video is really popular 😉

      Update in case you're still interested: I found a way to generate MIDI files using Musescore (the software I use to write sheet music). You can open it in any MIDI visualizer software - I assume you already use one but if not, I tried a few free ones and of those SeeMusic seems to work the best (you'll probably want to turn off the effects though since those are performance intensive). Also should mention that this is generated from the sheet music and not the recording in my video, so it's less detailed and there may be a few inconsistencies. Hope it still helps though!

    Hey, great cover! How do you record the sound from your Kawai CA-79? The recordings I get from the USB stick are always so low and when I boost them, they lose a lot of quality

    • @thealanpiano
      @thealanpiano  2 роки тому +4

      Thanks! I just use the USB but have the same problem as well so I use a software called Audacity to increase the volume (the amplify effect if you're familiar with it). Not sure what you mean by quality but buzzing/static noises appear if I overdo it. Audacity shows how much I can increase the volume by without that happening, so I go by that. That's usually close enough, but if not the only other workaround I've found is by compressing the sound. I try to avoid that though since I usually want to keep the dynamic contrast. Hopefully that helps!

    How do u make your arrangements

    • @thealanpiano
      @thealanpiano  2 роки тому +11

      For me it's mostly a combination of listening to the original soundtrack and then experimenting to see what works. For simple arrangements, I usually try to just transcribe the notes 1:1 but for harder ones I will also spend time thinking about the overall structure/approach and which aspects of the music I want to emphasize. Hope that makes sense!
