- It's Year 3 of the Madden 24 Saints Franchise. We've accepted the rebuilding role and have started overhauling the existing roster. We're expecting the rookie class to play many roles this season, and even have new Quarterbacks. I'm hoping this year we can lay a new foundation and identity to take into the future.
My Franchise on Madden 24 begins with the New Orleans Saints. The Saints offer a unique challenge compared to any other team looking at their future cap space problems and aging roster. The Saints are not a bad team in 2023 at all. But their future could not be anymore problematic as cap restraints will cause them to move on from players, including some of their aging veterans they still rely on.
I aim for a more sim feel to my Franchises. I play on All Madden sliders that promote a more realistic play style. I have developed my own XP sliders to create a more authentic feel to Franchise in terms of developing young players and replacing regressing veterans.
This will be my biggest Madden 24 series, and I'm excited to get the rebuild underway.
We didn’t pass well today but we made up for it by not running the ball well.

At this point I've firmly planted my flag that Tim Cannon is not an NFL head coach. This offense had expectations coming into the year and to say they've fallen flat is an understatement. This team is just underachieving across the board and in the end it all comes down to the coach. If the Saints miss the playoffs again Cannon needs to be fired
Skelton needs more touches
The accuracy slider needs to be fixed. Perfect accuracy passes landing with no receiver in sight should not be happening.
Thats an issue everywhere in 24, even in online, I don't think sliders will fix it.
Barry Skelton flashed in his two run attempts, especially with a team that seemingly is struggling at the skill positions to block. Maybe he needs to get a couple more carries a game if Roby is going to continue to not create. Especially with a depleted offensive line, you need a guy who can just create something out of nothing more than a guy who can get you what he's given.
I think Skelton's earned some more playing time
Kevin Blackwell should be the one demanding a trade at this point, this offense went from featuring him prominently to not able to get him the ball at all. What you know that this team has the reigning offensive rookie of the year? Sure doesn't look like it.

I have made it official series canon that it was in fact the Colts who called Cane to get Roby off their hands because they already knew what a bust he was.
I feel like the routes are to deep for what the OL can handle right now, and in the run game, I think foot speed is the issue....
Tough seeing the Saints struggle like this.

Should have traded for a faster running back. Getting another guy to do what Kendre Miller does while keeping Kendre Miller wasn't the brightest idea.
He should have traded back up to draft confield
As someone who still has quite-possible-nonsensical hope for Roby, I honestly feel like half the reason Cane got him was so the chat wouldn't turn him into the next AJ Bingham and incessantly beg for a trade every other game. Can't say I blame him whatsoever… and only now does everyone else. Oh well. Pulling for him to turn it around!

Small sample size, but the offense looked pretty identical with Mayweather - too many mistakes across the board for a young QB to succeed.
Just imagine if Kendre Miller had Star Dev. Oh wait...
Saints have now lost 11 of their last 13 games after starting last season 4-3 in case anybody was wondering.

Let’s give Juan Beard some props for the start to his season. Also Barry needs to get some more touches he’s the fast RB the offense needs
Juan beard has one sack this season that he created and it came in this game where once again he was absolutely dominated in the run game and made one impactful play.

Skelton looked electic with the ball. Definitely needs to see the field more to try and jumpstart the offense
I feel like it’s not even a Roby issue, he’s constantly getting hit at the los almost every time
15:50 Back-to-back singleback formations on the goalline - the latter of which was a multi-step drop for Westbrook - using Roby, a running back consistently described as being unable to "create" yardage without the assistance of blockers… and with multiple backup linemen, including at center, in the game (plus Rowe, whom was later described as being deceptively easy to overpower). Both plays get blown up, and Westbrook and Roby get to share a crucifixion.
I would have liked a swing pass to Skelton there. Let him use his speed to outrun the defender to the pylon.
brutal game, oh well. I like skelton. helps with the poor blocking, and as long as you can avoid the big hits, he'll be a nice spark. getting ryan back next week is going such a tremendously big deal. saints have proved to be quite the challenge and I'm definitely still here for it.
Just had the last-minute realization that this'll be something of a homecoming game for our ex-Sun Devil at QB. It might not be Mountain America Stadium, but here's hoping the return to Arizona gives Westbrook a spark!

There are times when I watch the cpu make a completion and think “if cane threw that exact same pass, that’s picked.”

Now you understand why NFL teams in real life don’t put too much value into running backs. Doesn’t matter how good someone is if the line can’t block for them they aren’t gonna look good.
Honestly if the run game isn’t working, then forget it-you have two stud receivers in Olave and Wilson, a rookie of the year tight end and an upcoming rookie and a great gadget speed threat
I didn't like the Roby trade when it happened but even I didn't expect it go go this badly for him...
Clearly the user QB sliders are too harsh. The cpu with similar ratings arent missing as many throws. And even our savior Mayweather missed a couple of throws he hit last year
Unfortunately the sliders are unlikely to change very much at all in that area. People have been complaining about it for years and it never gets addressed

To be fair the Saints O-Line had two back ups. Roby's performance was poor still however.
I'll go a step further and say he's the single biggest FA bust Cane's ever signed in any Madden series ever.

If you have two Quarterbacks, you have no Quarterback.
Make a choice and stick with it, you are not helping either Quarterback with switching back and forth. Like the Falcons last year this will not work out. Neither will develop at a decent rate this way and have a chance to actually become a better player.
And Roby, I don´t know, he just doesn´t work out, he is not offering anything that Miller can´t already do. Play Skelton more, he made a good impression and offered a quick first step.
Also do something about those Sliders of yours, I feel like the games in this season aren´t as good as the ones last year. They are not shootouts with 50, 60+ Points in total, but there are just sooo many mistakes that should not happen. The passes seem to be too inaccurate and the Injury Slider is one point to high. Maybe that would help a bit to level out the Teams performance and not have them out there looking like a division 3 Team playing Alabama.
The only brightside of this game was Skelton. Needs more designed touches. The ol absolutely failed across the board, and the running game has made this offense one dimensional with a rookie passer. Its tough but we can still get it back on track. Need to run more man with all these big cbs
With the injuries this team is now on life support.
You call your lineman solid, yet when you look at how they are ranked compared to their position, they are bottom 5 starters in the league. Rowe is star development but he's the 28th ranked guard
Lower tier starter is more accurate. It's made worse when it's 3 all playing next to each other.
Keeping Kamara an extra season really caused a ripple effect for the offense
I think they nerfed classic passing a lot. I tested with some higher and lower caliber QBs and they still missed simple throws. Don't see that issue as often with target passing.
When I play I use target passing. QB will still make inaccurate throws but it’s way better because you don’t miss the gimmes as often
@@Davdaphone Yeah, it still happens with target passing, but way less frequent. It's sad that they made classic worse for those like Cane who aren't the best at passing.
@@Andarath69 I wouldn’t be opposed to cane using target passing tbh. Free form is really what can make it “OP” so maybe he shouldn’t do that but these QBs aren’t *that* bad where they should be missing open throws
QB accuracy sliders NEED a boost. Some of these misses were crazy

If this wasn't Madden, the head coach would have been fired before he even made it to the locker room. Too many years of just being bad in the exact same ways.
The sheer lack of man coverage with these tall cornerbacks is malpractice at worst and should be adressed sooner lest we see open runners getting open. The Cardinals looked like The greatest show on turf today with the overreliance on zone coverage and this has been a recurring problem for the last season and a half now. You also have a lackluster pass rush and a weak front 7. These issues need addressing now
They started in man coverage in the first half, they got cooked the whole time.

I still believe in the potential of Westbrook, but Mayweather coming in showed just how far off Westbrook still is. Lack of running game and bad offensive line are going to make those growing pains extra painful
Mayweather looked like hot garbage too. This O Line is terrible and cane can’t read the defense.
This offense really has to be quicker to adapt to the weaknesses.
The spot concepts and quick curls are just asking for trouble with Westbrook showing some accuracy issues on those throws.
Having bootleg and rollouts to the right with a backup tackle isn't ideal either.
Really, we just need plays with more options. More plays that have plan B's and C's if the first read isn't there like some level concepts.
If there's an open guy right away, its always better to just take that. A bigger play may open up eventually but you are never gonna lose a game because you threw to open guys.
Westbrook is showing signs of being really good, but the bad running game is not helping him whatsoever. I liked the acquisition of Roby a lot, but I think Miller needs to be traded for a more elusive RB. That lets you balance the RBs, opens up more opportunities for Roby, and takes pressure off Westbrook.
You have to stop putting in Mayweather - you NEED Westbrook to develop which he can’t do if you bench him.
Also plays that fit the strength of Westbrook. Probably quick hit mind if plays.

The only things worse than the blocking for Burney were the throws for Wilson and Olave. Jeez. Is this rock bottom?

Had Wilson right side burning the CB wide open with no safety help at 6:41. Instead we took an incompletion to Olave. Pain.
Barry Skelton is the new Dion Price, feed him the ball. Also the Roby trade may be an all time L, he plays dreadfully in the game engine. CB and WR are the only strong position groups, everything else needs addressing.
trade for an edge or interior rusher, the defense would be much better if someone got consistent pressure. I know both got kind of recent contracts but trading Wilson or Olave for a good rusher would significantly improve the defense and there is enough depth at WR on the team and around the league to be fine. You're not going to get a legit number 1 edge or DT in the draft unless you get a top 3 pick and even then in madden it usually takes multiple seasons for them to really develop. Beard and like Reddick, Gary, J. Bosa, J. Allen or Madibuke, Wilkins, Baramore etc. Then you can focus pretty much entirely on OL in the draft
This offensive line is unfortunately not good enough, I know its not all about overalls but almost everyone on that line is mid 70's and that just isn't gonna cut it with a struggling rookie qb and average at best running bcks

Defense was at least present in this game for the Saints but the offense was god awful.
Roby looks bad, Westbrook isn't spectacular, the O-line isn't good enough, and the team is getting the injury bug as well.
If the Saints keep getting blown out and if Westbrook isn't looking like he is going to win ROTY, might have to draft yet ANOTHER QB.
Westbrook is Andy Dalton with a little stronger of an arm

I love Cane like the son I never had, but his O-line talent evaluation skills are on par with Chris Grier's. No, that is not a compliment.
Roby feels like an absolute bust of a trade
My thoughts so far: Add 1-2 points to the Run blocking and user accuracy sliders. There is no reason for the team getting better and performing worse. This last game was downright embarrassing. Also Cane, please do not bench Westbrook. He is the QB for this franchise, an early pick was spent for him, and he will not develop if you keep him on the bench.

Westbrook... I understand he's a rookie and I understand his upside and his potential. But it happens that rookie qbs get put in an then the team realise they need more time. Mayweather deserves the job.
It seems like Westbrook can't hold on to the ball upon being sacked. Mayweather may need to start again.
Medlock is on a dangerous path to looking like a bust…Alim McNeill should have been kept and had his snaps instead
LOOKING like a bust?!?! 😯Then again McNeill was a JAG who did no better. This game seemed to be based completely on making user D suck and blow at the same time. Bengal only got around it by somehow making an unstoppable offense built on throwing to a couple of TEs and running endlessly in the 2020s.
This is the point of the season where you have to make *the choice*. Do you stick with Westbrook (for good and for bad) and play him all year or do you bench him and let Mayweather come in and see what you got with him.

Bump the user accuracy up to 51. I use it at 51 in my franchise and my rookie qb was at least completing 60% of his passes. Also calling more short passes and just not hesitating on throws will help.

Yeah running needs to improve but idk if its the blocking or the RB. As for the defense it pretty good. I think a generational talent RB or pass rusher will put this team over the top and whichever you go with you add a stud on the opposite side of the ball with a Free agent. Other then injuries team is so close to being sitting at the top
Skelton should start or be 2nd string. And westbrook is actually and upgrade or 2 from being th QB that can run this offense.

Mayweather is Russel Wilson. Westbrook is Sam Darnold. Might take awhile to develop Westbrook. But we need a run game to develop either of these guys. Gotta give more reps to Skelton. Roby doesn’t offer much. Miller is more dynamic and earned the starting spot.
Roby isn't fast enough. He performs worse than Miller and is basically the same type of back with the same skill set. You need a lighting to your thunder. I would advise to trade Roby for a back that brings a lot of speed. You can't get anything going at all on those stretch runs. Trade him and get your fast back and it will open up so much more of the playbook
U should totally add firing to your series because cannon needs to go and u can easily just change his name and appearance and create a new storyline.. because this team has under performed since the start of the series lol

Money Mayweather deserves the starting job, he's better now and even with the lower overall I think he has more potential.
Man this run game is hard to watch. Play action doesn't work if you can't move south to north with the run.
