The reintroduction of a tram system was money well spent. I got a return ticket from the airport to Princess street for £9.50 and it took just 30 minutes. A taxi fare one way is around £34 for the same journey. That's £68 return. If you are flying into the city take the tram.
Or take the bus, the Airlink Service is not bad as well. Years ago bus No 35 drove for a lot less from the Airport into Old Town. I purchased a Ridacard and I top it up when in town. 22£/week and you can take the tram, too 😂
had my 50th in Edinburgh, staying in a hotel in Leith was a long dear taxi ride away but was worth it after stuffing a great big kebab then doing Rose Street next morning, my pal came up from Chatham for my celebrations and went home in the morningon Sunday, was great, we love Scotland Kev
Not being awkward but I would choose an empty restaurant over queuing up every time. You should get quicker service, a better welcome and enjoy a more relaxed meal rather than being processed and rushed out the door. I have had a long career in travel and marketing. Forget the tricks. Deliver good service and value for money and you will prosper. It really isn’t difficult. One thing was missing my friend, what did the Indian restaurant do to create the que? Sit people outside morning to night to look busy? Ps. Am enjoying your videos.
Rose St. pubs have rip off prices and are for the tourists with two exceptions - The Abbotsford and The Kenilworth.. There are far better and cheaper pubs in every direction less than a ten minute walk away. Also avoid the pubs on the Royal Mile - the same applies.

lets face it most restaurants affordable to the common man are cutting corners,your only clue as to how good they are is asking them how many microwaves do you have in your kitchen
tell how bad dining is getting,frequented a local steak franchise in my city in canada,went to same steakhouse in another city ordered steak and lobster tail, the melted butter in a wee cup on my plate was canola oil,complained said it was a mistake and later changed story and said it was head offices change but its made with butter in it,i dislike the taste of canola oil and i swear if there was butter in it it made no diff as the quantity they used was just a disclaimer,i would say most restaurants are good for sandwiches and ive even found some are lousy at that
