I am in my 60s...and these videos always remind me when my dad( US marine) came back from Vietnam in the late 60s...a military kid is always a military kid.
Same with me on both sides. My dad coming home after a TDY in the USAF. Then me when I was in the USAF. Military flying is a duty where you are away from home more than you are there. The funny thing is that we never got used to it.
Sandie: My late father only served one year in Vietnam (1968-69). He was first mis-assigned to Quartermaster battalion for the first six months, and then (correctly) assigned to Intelligence for the second six months. He took color photos (which turned yellow and green from the heat's effect on the film) and (since he preferred nonalcoholic drinks) he had to learn to put ice cubes in his milk to keep it from going sour (which he did for the rest of his life). He passed away in May 2007 from cancer (he didn't smoke, though) that may have been caused by exposure to Agent Orange all those years ago. I still miss him alot.
@aubug5 Everyone has to display every tiny thing they do on public forums now. Sad really, what it's come to. Today child didn't need to have this lovely moment in front of an audience.
I'm sorry to hear darling.. be strong.. dad will always be with you throughout your life.. treasure each moment you had with his beautiful soul.. warmest greetings from sri lanka xxx by the way was he in the forces as well?
She just woke up she wasn't ready for that surprise ! Surprised not surprised but happy to be reunited to her dad and then came the tears of cry by realizing that is not a dream but true reality by getting herself hugged , held by her dad !
That is a daddies girl for sure. So sweet. I lived seperate from my wife and kids for about a year while we got on our feet and sometimes we went a month without seeing each other and it was such an amazing feeling just gettng together after that little bit of time. They always ran up to me and sometimes happy tears. I couldnt imagine that long. Thank you for your service..you and that little girl of yours.
And I want to add a thank you to that little girl of yours too. The sacrifices she makes with her daddy that she obviously loves very much being over seas.
Thank you for your service - this is the America we (in New Zealand) so much admire. I watch these videos when I need a reminder of the good of your country
There is nothing more powerful then emotional reaction of little child. No acting, no faking.... Just purest emotion. It truly is the most powerful force in the universe.
Very special moment. Very. You could tell this was one of the first times she was feeling real emotion and coming of age and didn’t know how to process it....true love for her daddy. So sweet. Very touching.
Its not only these soldiers who make the sacrifice for America, its also their families who have to go without their husbands, fathers, brothers, sons, wives, mothers, sisters and daughters. I Thank All of these families for their diligence and sacrifice as well as their Dear Soldiers!! I Salute You! 👍😁😁😁
I,m glad your home safe and now enjoy being with your family Also you kept your family safe too..Your family should be proud. Of you for your service because even thou I,m not your family also I can say I,m proud of you and Thank you for your service again..Also for keeping me safe..
When soldiers are defending all of us, wives, or husband's, and All children suffer as well. Love to them all, and thank you for your service and your family's sacrifice....
God Bless our Soldiers and the sacrifices they make for our country and to keep ALL Americans safe. We often forget that these soldier's wives and children also make huge sacrifices when their loved one's are overseas.
@@haileyprocter2211 What do you think your precious military do in countries that never asked for intervention? You are so blind to the existence of any cultures or societies other than your own American mess.
I have a 7 year old that runs up to me every time a come home from work, hugs and kisses every single time and loves you at night. can't imagine being away from her for more than a day! thank you sir for making it possible for us! Great...now I'm crying.....
These videos always get to me as I was in School just started Year 7 which was High School (I'm in the UK). Anyway my Mum was in hospital with Cancer & I remember the Teacher coming to get me, they told me that there was someone to see me, I was so excited as I thought it was my Mum. Walking into that room seeing my Dad, a couple of Teachers, the School Nurse & my Mums Nurse I knew straight away, my Dad asked me to come sit with him but I just shook my head I wanted to run away from that room thinking if I didn't hear it then it wouldn't be true. Eventually I sat down & he told me that she had died then I was taken to get my stuff I remember my friend seeing my face & grabbing everything for me then she hugged me & I was taken to the Hospital to say goodbye to my Mum it was the hardest thing I ever went through & I've had a lot of sh*t in my life but that day is ingrained in my memory 💔. I miss my Mum every day it has been almost 22 years now she will always be my hero, best friend & Guardian Angel, I know she is watching over us now I just wish I could give her a hug 💛.
One of the things that I was not expecting returning home was just how emotional I would get seeing everyone again after a long deployment, you'd think only they would be crying and overjoyed and relieved. Boy was I wrong I was crying just as hard and there was no dial or button to shut it off.
God Bless Fort Hood its the best my mom signed my brother in at seventeen years old when my Dad died a year before that .He came home from basic training to see her in the hospital when he returned to Ft Hood She died and he wasn't allowed to come back home because he had used his time at the hospital. 50yr old British Army veteran and that broke me, She is such a cutie and man 6 Months from my daughter every other year was bad enough I really do feel for US Service personnel and their families, year long separation and this one 3 years! Wow..
Like Sandie below I'm 61 and saw my dad leave and come back alive from 2 tours in Vietnam. He was gone for 18 months at a time. Also a year in Okanawa. He lived to be 82. When your dad is a 1st Sgt and was a drill instructor there is no such thing as a "service brat" in our family. We were truly blessed and my mom was a super mom rearing 3 kids almost by herself.
