1 second slower than a professional bmw driver on your second round of laps is insanity. I mean they should consider hiring you for half the cost. I mean wow. Impressive dude. Seriously impressive
@Jerry Springler I'm talking about on this simulator (hoping they made their own program) due to how much time and effort that went just the program getting as close to perfection as they can. Yes ik there is tas for other racing simulator games but it's not gonna on the same level of handling, traction, weight, and power realism. Yes I get that modern simulator games have gotten pretty close to real deal but each simulation game is slightly different.

And praised for being so skillful in such short time! You, sir, are awesome! Thanks for another candid look into your increasingly cool life!
"What happens if I accidentally crash, and flip it over?!" "No, DON'--" (car actually flips over and begins rolling, destroying half of the screen and somehow landing on the computing elements)

Being a regular old gamer, then getting VR, then getting a racing sim, then getting a decent wheel, then pedal, HB, and Hshift brought me here. We all have different paths. Some more conventional than others.
If you take a look at 4:14 before that and do watch the scene in total from 2:54 onwards, you can only come to one conclusion: The comment above is pure BS.
Technology "similar" to this is already available to consumers for around 6k (motorized multi-axis rigs). Of course it's a far cry from the precision of this monster, but at the pace sims seem to be evolving, with laser scans of tracks and more accurate tyre/car modeling, and also the advance VR which replaces that huge screen, I reckon rigs with similar levels of accuracy could become relatively accessible within the next 10 years. Exciting stuff.

production value and just general filmaking skills through the rooooooof
I would really love if the camera man would stop filming way high, he cuts the arms and hands of Jimmi, especially bad in the beginning (but through the whole video), it seems he is on a gimbal and is still learning to control it. But the content is good :-)
As a filmmaker I've been paying close attention to these real-life videos on the production side of things, and I have to say his cameraman has improved a lot since they started doing this kind of videos. Still has way to go but he's constantly getting better.
Exactly what I thought. Check out 12:34 that's a kino shot :D
“Well you can probably trade it for your house” 1hr later jimmy shows up in truck with his shed in the back of it “here you go”

1 second slower than a professional bmw driver on your second round of laps is insanity. I mean they should consider hiring you for half the cost. I mean wow. Impressive dude. Seriously impressive
It'd be cool if they did a tas run to see what would be a perfect run time
@Jerry Springler I'm talking about on this simulator (hoping they made their own program) due to how much time and effort that went just the program getting as close to perfection as they can. Yes ik there is tas for other racing simulator games but it's not gonna on the same level of handling, traction, weight, and power realism. Yes I get that modern simulator games have gotten pretty close to real deal but each simulation game is slightly different.
@@lars_hbm good to know. I dont know what software they use but I guess I learn something new every day. But I'd still like to see a tas run😂😂

Absolutely incredible! I've always worried about just how close a sim is to the real thing, and here today I see Jimmy use an official BMW race simulator and translate his talents directly into what's essentially a DTM M3. 1 second and some change from an official driver's time in a few laps! And praised for being so skillful in such short time! You, sir, are awesome! Thanks for another candid look into your increasingly cool life!

I felt genuinely really pleased for you watching this video. You’re living your best life mate and whilst I am a bit envious it’s awesome to see the things you do and I don’t begrudge you any of it. You work hard, you’re funny as hell and it turns out you’re a reasonably handy wheelman too. Top work.
With the exeption of movement from the seat, we can get fairly close to this experiance now with a VR headset.
Assetto Corsa and Raceroom are amazing.
There are seats that move, nothing like the real deal of course. The cheapest is like 2K maybe?

@@drazenbudis7881 I run the original, and it still works for me. I really like how versatile it is. Everything from prototypes and F1, down to econoboxes and karts. Plus the fact that if I wanted to, I could drop a twin turbo F1 engine into an Austin-Healey Sprite and have a go. . .
Only the graphics engine is used, the physics are completely in house and not related to rFactor at all.

I want this rig in my flat. Especially at this time. Could easily stay inside for three months with this bad boy
You could make something comparable for under 3000 I'd say, if you have a good pc to start with possibly less, Projector ~ 500, big ass projection screen ~ 1500, diy something that looks like a cockpit of a car ~ 500 , race car seat ~ 500 and those are pretty generous values so if that's your dream, if you need help planning the diy parts or doing stuff cheaper with some creative thinking hit me up.
