I had a g1900 some time back with the 60" deck, and now have an 1800 with the 48" deck. Both were 2 wheel steer. Best advice I can give you is find a way to get that thing inside. Sun fades them and rain rusts them. Great machines

I have one of these also , bought in 1991 and has 1300+ hrs on it still runs like a Cadillac. Right now am replacing some bearings in the outside spindles and in the front drive shaft .Have only had minor repairs. I guess the reason that they quit making them is that they last too long. I wouldn't swap it for a new zero turn, I love the 4 wheel steering!

I had a G1900, and still have a G1800. The 1800, my mom uses. The 1900 was 4 wheel steer, basically a zero turning radius. The 1800 is 2 wheel steer. The 2ws version is a lot harder to steer than the 4ws is. I mowed 1.5 acres with the 1900, mom mows about half as much. What I liked the most about them is that a tank of diesel lasts ALL season (in my yard), mom's mower--she gets almost 2 full seasons-out of a single tank of fuel. BUT they are maintenance intensive little things with grease fittings everywhere. There's 2 hidden ones--one on the front axle pivot (that nobody greases) and the other one on the drive shaft on the back of the engine. If you dont' grease either one of them, you'll have some expensive problems down the line. Kubota parts aren't cheap. Ours were/are in great shape and I personally service(d) them once a year, pull the fenders and deck off, pressure wash everything, fuel system cleaning, two new fuel filters, all fluids/filters, etc. I was a 30 year kubota service tech so I ain't afraid to do all this stuff. RUST is an issue on the mowing decks, usually from leaving clippings on the deck-which holds moisture and causes the paint to flake, then rust sets in. If it weren't for that I'd still have my G1900. Buff the hood and fenders with a drill and one of those wool pads that fits in a drill, they look brand new--then wax it to hold the finish. Taken care of and not overheated or run out of oil or dusted, they'll run forever. Literally forever.

I have G1800 Kabota and I don't have a operator's manual. My question is does the back wheels on the deck suppose on the ground when mowing or does the deck supposed to be floating? If the is all the way down. the wheels leave a path on soft ground.
