  • In this video, Dr. Sam Schroetke of Physical Therapy & Hand Clinic demonstrates The Classic Exercise for Neck Pain - Cervical Retraction. This exercise is a staple an any physical therapy practice because it can be very effective for treating neck, shoulder, mid-back and shoulder blade pain.
    Perform 10-15 reps every 2-3 hours, or as needed for pain.
    Check with your physical therapist or physician before performing this exercise to make sure that it is appropriate for you.

    Great video and so easily explained with a great demo.
    What about ones pillow? I’ve tried cervical memory foam pillows and they’re so stiff and smell of chemicals. I’ve researched and read reviews of so many pillows. Any suggestions?

    My sharp pain occurs when my neck is retracted back. Not sure if I endure the pain until it starts to relax or if my nerve is being pinched worse by this exercise.

    this dude has such a patronising voice i couldnt finnish the video
