4:00 - Andy Wood, cap'n Nick's such a kind humble soul, one of my favourite players in recent years no doubt. And those T-styles are gorgeous. Thinking of picking one up.
Nick's new song is absolutely amazing. He is more than a guitarist, he is a legit composer at this point. Hope he continues in that direction for his new album.
@michaeleaster1815 It does, but it's not an over the top twang. I'd say it's more modern sounding. With the tone knob full, you'll get enough twang to be audible and really standout, but it's not too bright. If you roll back the tone, it's an awesome single coil rock tone. They are also very quiet, but not noiseless by design. Probably because they are low output.
Anderton’s you guys are knocking it out of the park with these interviews and NAMM footage and gear reviews. I’d say #1 in the UA-cam music gear world!! 🌎
I have a NJ Schecter S type, its a lovely guitar! Its not as soft to play a my fender strat and its no where near as aggressive sounding, but its definitely a precision machine its never goes out of tuning and it is very rigid... you can go hard and it will produce! Additionally I have a Schecter PT ii Fast Back which has a Bigsby... definitely that is am absolute work horse of an amazing guitar, its candy sparkling red with black scratch plate and silver hardware... I absolutely love it... weights a ton though! Both of these guitars have necks that are nearly as think as the Ibanez wizard necks! I cannot recommend Schecter enough. Also on my PT ii fastback I had an issue with delivery and I email Schecter and their COO contacted me... talk about a person service :D
I had recently bough a used Schecter SVSS Green Reign that was missing one of the threaded washers for the Sustaniac selector switch. Talk to one of the guys in the front office and three days later I had several of the threaded washers at no cost. In return I bought the Blue Reign and the Red Reign also. Absolutely amazing guitars!!!
They were. Lee's complete statement though was that he couldn't think of a virtuoso who'd done a "guitar like that" (i.e. signature tele equivalent to a super strat).
Just got one and love it but the one thing is it gives me a little neck dive, any suggestions on improving the comfort. Mine weighs 8lbs 11oz. I really want to keep it but I find myself having to readjust the guitar every 10 seconds
Danny Gatton, Robben Ford, Brent Mason - the telecaster is an instrument of virtuosos. Nothing new about another tele with a hum bucking neck pickup…. The original fender telecaster is still the best.
Hmm recently sent back a Fender strat that was horribly set up at the factory and replaced it with a Sire S7 for almost $800 less and sounds and plays twice as good.
Nick is amazing. He's an incredible player, and it's a pleasure just listening to him talk.
Thanks for doing this interview with him!
Tom Quayle's new Ibanez sig. Is a T-type, and of course Ritchie Kotzen is a virtuoso tele player :)
Nick is just a breath of fresh air. Always so positive and humble.
Nick's enthusiasm is very cool and unique. Another home run for Anderton's interviews! Well done Captain.
Virtuoso who plays a Tele: Ritchie Kotzen.
"Virtuoso" tag merely does him justice. He's annoyingly multitalented, set aside that stunning tele.. it's literally an artwork in all aspects.
Andy Wood
Greg Koch of course and Danny Gatton.
Roy Buchanan
and Josh Smith also Guthrie Trapp

So good to hear Nick crank a diamond series PT. Definitely buying that one in white

I have one of the Nick Johnston PT's in atomic green. I love it. It feels and plays way better than American made Fenders I've owned and played.
Does it have twang? That is, is it ok for traditional T-style stuff?
@michaeleaster1815 It does, but it's not an over the top twang. I'd say it's more modern sounding. Nicks the nicest person when you actually meet him , such a good dude, he signed my guitar too at a clinic

I love these interviews. Monster player but what a lovely person. Make sure to grab him again when he's next in the UK please captain!
Richie Kotzen, Mateus Asato, Andy Wood, Greg Koch, John5, etc…
this guy is amazing .. very underrated given the quality play he delivers
Highly underrated guitars. I've played some but not many for sale near me.
Awesome interview, love the T style, his playing and tone are great. He must be related somehow to Kim Mitchell. Cheers
Nick is a cool dude and a great player
Wish Nick hadn't moved away from single coils. That tone and the dynamics found on Atomic Mind and Remarkably Human were incredible
I agree with this!
Our Captain forgot about John 5
Curious to see the podcast from Sheet Happens!!

I would suggest Danny Gatton and Roy Buchanan were Tele virtuosos.
They were. Lee's complete statement though was that he couldn't think of a virtuoso who'd done a "guitar like that" (i.e. signature tele equivalent to a super strat).
@@pepmasters-999 My bad. I stand corrected.
It's all good. Always worth reminding people how good Danny Gatton and Roy Buchanan were. Both really underrated given their abilities.
Superb musician
Dave Kilminster has played teles and T-style guitars for years.
When is Nick getting a signature Orange amp?
Does he even play orange
@brandontodd3498 go look at his social media....that's all he plays nowadays
Ask Nick to get Mikhail Akerfeldt onto the sheethappens podcast! And you should bring him into Anderton's for a sit down! It would be beyond EPIC!
Nick Johnson is slowly turning into monochrome Willy Wonka and I am here for it. 😂❤
Just got one and love it but the one thing is it gives me a little neck dive, any suggestions on improving the comfort. Mine weighs 8lbs 11oz. I really want to keep it but I find myself having to readjust the guitar every 10 seconds
My new Epic Guitar Song with hard Riffs and SPACE!

Sick socks.
It's the 3/4 length trousers that really tie the outfit together 😅
🤣
😎👍
Danny Gatton, Robben Ford, Brent Mason - the telecaster is an instrument of virtuosos. Nothing new about another tele with a hum bucking neck pickup…. The original fender telecaster is still the best.
Julian Lage, Ted Greene, and Greg Koch are some other T-style virtuosos.
Screaming Ritchie Kotzen and Julian Lage at the TV. UA-cam i mean
Virtuoso who plays a tele: Francis Rossi
Beyond virtuoso. A wizard.
🤣
Andy wood
Mike Stern
SOCK
Found tiny Tim’s twin . lol sorry mate but I’m weak as to see tiny Tim not being in a coffin ⚰️ 😊
Need to look in the mirror before heading out.
Remarkably Human is great, the rest, not so much.
He has a lot of great stuff, but to each their own
New song is quite cool
agree, until child of bliss came out. in the same vibe, exceptional compositional effort
Apologies once again, but... First.
That’s not music that’s just noise
More hot takes… sigh.
worst guitarist in da world.
Fender only the rest is waste of money:)
Absolutely not a true statement.
I hope your last name is Fender somehow, if not, I remind you companies are not our friends, we dont have to work free for them
Hmm recently sent back a Fender strat that was horribly set up at the factory and replaced it with a Sire S7 for almost $800 less and sounds and plays twice as good.
