  • Angkor Wat pulls in over 50% of Cambodia's yearly tourism which is an absurd amount! So there must be an amazing reason why just so many people visit, and this is what made me fly all the way out to Cambodia... just to find out why for my self.
Join me as we explore the ancient ruins, temples, meet the locals and at the end venture into the Tomb where Angel Jolie shot Tomb Raider to see if this attraction is all actually worth it.

I was blown away by Siem Reap. I had just heard about Angkor Wat but as you know there are over 70 different temples to visit. Amazing, must visit place.

Angkor what was repurpused into a buddhist temple. It was originally a hindu temple. In fact angkor wat is the world's largest hindu temple.

    Timeless Angkor Wat.
Angkor Wat stands as a resplendent testament to the magnificence of human achievement, its grandeur and intricacy surpassing the bounds of imagination. Constructed as a sublime monument to the greatness of mankind, its sheer size and the colossal number of stones utilized in its creation leave one awestruck.
Beyond its physical splendor, Angkor Wat holds a profound spiritual significance. It is revered as a sacred conduit for mankind's communion with the divine, a celestial nexus where mortals can transcend earthly limitations and forge a profound connection with the heavens. It transcends the realm of mere palatial or competitive architecture, ascending to the lofty realm of a hallowed sanctuary for all of humanity.
In the presence of Angkor Wat, one is enveloped by an aura of enchantment and awe. Its meticulously crafted carvings tell tales of ancient wisdom, intricately interwoven with the rich tapestry of myth and history. Each stone, meticulously placed, bears witness to the visionary genius that birthed this masterpiece, weaving together the extraordinary skills of artisans and architects into a harmonious symphony of divine craftsmanship.
Angkor Wat, standing proudly as the center of the universe in the eyes of many, radiates an ethereal energy that resonates with pilgrims and visitors alike. It beckons us to embrace our shared humanity and embrace the spiritual quest that lies within us all. It is a sacred sanctuary, beyond the realm of mortal confines, where our souls can soar and find solace in the divine presence.
Indeed, Angkor Wat transcends the boundaries of time and space, whispering the secrets of the past and serving as a celestial gateway to a higher realm. Its profound symbolism and unmatched splendor speak to the innate desire within each of us to seek the divine, to be a part of something greater than ourselves. It stands as a testament to the indomitable spirit of humanity, a beacon of hope and inspiration that ignites the fires of imagination and fuels our eternal quest for spiritual enlightenment.

The beautiful place you were at was lost to the world for over 400 years before it was rediscovered again in 1840s. The whole place was forgotten and reclaimed by the jungle back then.

So I was born in Cambodia and live in the US now but finally came back to visit in 2017...advice for ladies and gentlemen, any temple you go to in Cambodia make sure your not wearing skimpy clothes... they kinda frown upon it. After going to Cambodia I went to a Target store and saw a book called "1000 place you should visit before you die, number 1 was Angkor Wat... the country is beautiful, getting better roads... just need better government
