Case 580CK transmission repair Part 6. Nearing the End

finally getting my 1968 case 580 CK backhoe back together. we are nearing the end of this project which is a huge relief. hopefully all this work fixes the issues and I can put the machine to work.

That’s just a coincidence 😂 but I do really enjoy this machine. My dad had one very similar 1971 CK when I was 5 or 6 before he traded up to his 580K

I have the same machine, my Dad bought new, I still have the sales receipt from the dealer and with the Cat controls my Dad ordered it with it was 6400.00 brand new. I'm currently repacking the cylinders again and should have it running again soon, over the life of the machine I've put a radiator, starter, injector pump, and many multiple oil changes, the engine has never been opened up and the tractor has never been split.

They are tough machines for sure. I have no idea the history of this machine but in the 3 years I’ve had it, I finished putting a replacement engine in, radiator, swing cylinder and stabilizer cylinder packing along with the shuttle clutches

$6,400 is insane. In good shape they bring that much today!

My transmission needs done on my case 580b but it does not need to look perty like yours

If it’s just the shuttle that needs replacing, you can remove the hoe and split the transaxle from the shuttle transmission instead and save some time
