I gotta say, even though the Mezco is the more impressively engineered figure, the recently released Hasbro figure wins for me. It’s a perfect representation of the Thanos from the story that made me love the character.
I've never Mezco'ed Marvel before, but I have a few DC since they've had a harder time getting great 6" scale figures. Articulation doesn't seem to be their strongest point but what they lack there they more than make up for in a lot of other ways.
I like this Thanos a lil busy for I love the modern look Thanos baf figure. Having said that I would pick this up to add to my display I have a muti verse formatted collection, as in what I love will be in it multiple version or one. Now on to the whole reason I wanted to comment, you my friend are on par with all the other channels out there hasbro needs to give you your due. You put in the hours your straight up about them whether good or bad but your not kissing ass or trading them either even being dealt a sour hand with the sentinel. "But I digress..." lol your awesome and I've found myself looking for more of your videos now than most others. So keep it up and thank you for your service!
I love Thanos as a character. I have the Hot Toys Endgame Thanos and the Marvel Legends deluxe comic Thanos + some statues. While researching this Mezco Thanos, I encountered a lot of vitriol and malaise. Then I saw this video, and it persuaded me to buy it. I would just like to thank you, David, because now that I have him - I could not be more pleased. This is the best 1:12 scale Thanos, period (except if you're doing a strict Infinity Gauntlet comic display, where the ML version would obviously be more accurate).
Might have to pick this guy up. Have to say, you’d be surprised at the great level of articulation in mezco’s Spider-Man. The black suit Spider-Man is one of my favorite figures I own and it hits poses on par with the mafex for the most part.
Ah, thank the makers, Dave made a complete Thanos figure video. All is right with the world. My inner child is pleased albeit very jealous. Thank you for this.
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour i have mezco cyclops, cable, magneto, and logan. And iron fist too. These 5 are definite improvements over marvel legends. It gives magneto a cloth cape, a crazy armor for cable, a badass and proportionate look for logan, and an awesome costume texture and jacket and effects for cyclops. As for iron fist it is just an overall improvements in every way, with the sash, costume, proportion, and effects. The rest it is more worth it for you to get the hasbro ones. Even doom haha. 🤘
Nice review Dave. Mezco Thanos is awesomely detailed. You're absolutely right about sacrificing articulation. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Lol
Heck yes you finally got a mezco lol. If you do feel like paying a premium, get yourself a Deathstroke and a Punisher. With some time, they can make some kickass poses.
Sincerely decent review, Dave! Identified the good with the bad; did comparisons and showed the packaging and additional (included) items that the figure comes with. Well done!
He looks great. Now I've never held a mezco However, I've seen many reviews of mezcos and they always say "with this leathery material, becareful because if you leave it in a pose that is stretching the material there for a long time, it can rip." So be careful. Now I don't know if it does have this material but if you are getting more mezcos, be aware. But glad to see you enjoy this beautiful piece!
Since 98% of the time my figures are stationary, I don’t mind less articulation. Give me more details like in this Mezco Thanos & as you stated he doesn’t need high level of pose-ability like Spider-Man. Not perfect but I don’t own a figure that’s perfect yet.
I've watched you for a long time, I love all your videos. I love your marvel legends vids the most. And it's kinda sad that you are getting rid of figs. I keep telling you it will still be good if you keep them packed in. But I can't be mad at you.
I got it and love it best thanos ever made. And the clothes are not baggy at all. That is almost perfect. The only problem I have with it is the infinity gauntlet when it's on. That is not well thought T all
I wanna collect s.h figure arts for a mcu collection and Mezco for a comic collection. I thought s.h figure arts was overated but i saw it on sheleve in gamestop and it looked awesome, cameras truly dont capture Mezco or s.h figure arts amazing action figures. Sadly each of their figures cost a kidney😭
mezco thanos does look amazing! just like your channel! may I just ask one thing, where can I look at the other Thanoses that you said that were for sale?
Bizarrely, I'd put the Mezco in 4th place - the, packaging, presentation, accessories and lights are great. However, the shortfalls in articulation with the proportions and suit are too far off.
I was going to get Thanos but i passed. I have quite a few mezcos and the Pleather stuff isnt great. Love everything else about this Thanos though and those head sculpts are 100000% better then the ML version
Owning all of the 6-7 inch comic-based Thanos figures, comparing the Mezco to the Legends or Select figures reveals such a gap in sheer quality that it is almost laughable. Don't get me wrong, the recent Legends Thanos is as comic accurate as a Classic Thanos figure can get, but that Mezco figure is really something special, as it should be given the price point.
@David displays model behaviour I know that you're trying to hold yourself to this "one definitive version of each character" rule, but I really do think that you should hold on to the Deluxe Legends figure. Perhaps you could bend your rule with the Deluxe being the definitive Classic Thanos and the Mezco being the definitive Modern Thanos.
not digging the gold decals especially the ab area, in my opinion the blue decal in the pants looks way better, they should have continued that style and color in the upper torso as well
not a fan of the crazy over-designed costume on that guy, there's just too much stuff going on for my liking, especially the boots and the shoulder piece
I gotta say, even though the Mezco is the more impressively engineered figure, the recently released Hasbro figure wins for me. It’s a perfect representation of the Thanos from the story that made me love the character.
I totally agree
Can't argue it's the perfect infinity gauntlet look from the early 90's!
"I wont have multiples of a character...Expect for Spider-man, right Dave?
Never enough Spider-Men!
I've never Mezco'ed Marvel before, but I have a few DC since they've had a harder time getting great 6" scale figures. Articulation doesn't seem to be their strongest point but what they lack there they more than make up for in a lot of other ways.
Yeah I hear you Jake, it kinda depends on what's important to you doesn't it.
Damn. That Thanos looks sick 🤤
I love him!
Get mezco blade. Definitive version for sure
I’m tempted!

You're welcome! :)
I need to get into Mezco. I’ve wanted one for a while. I keep looking at the x-force Wolverine and the Logan. Their X-men Cable looks nice too.
Yeah I was tempted by cable. I like their Cyclops too with the bomber jacket
Im just tryna get the symbiote and normal spidey

The sculpting is great the only issue is the baggy suit that will crack over time
Yeah I'm going to have to watch that with great care!

The Punisher look fantastic!

I’m with you on that bud. Great but flawed. Still love him!
I love the figure, I'm happy I finally have him from mezco haha. Forbidden Planet, you live in NYC?
Oh no, that's forbidden planet London.
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour ah gotcha. I got one in my city too!
You really should keep the newer Legends Thanos. That's more classic whereas the Mezco is a little more modern looking.
Yeah I do like the classic infinity war look

mezco thanos does look amazing!
just like your channel!
may I just ask one thing,
where can I look at the other Thanoses that you said that were for sale?
Thanks YZ. I'm probably going to sell my figures on Facebook. I usually use the group Marvel Legends UK.
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour cool, thanks man!
Glad you are happy with your purchase but I still prefer the marvel legends!
I totally get that!
I’m waiting for the mezco fantastic four and dr.doom to come out .a lot of people are saying mezco Conan is figure of the year
Yeah there os a lot of hype for that guy!

I think the best is the Marvel Select Thanos
Unfortunately not much articulation

Actually I’m flattered to say I get that comparison quite a lot. Never ceases to put a smile on my face!
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour :) well its good the personality matches the face, looking forward to future videos.
You're the goat
What did you use as the podium for the Infinity Gauntlet?
A friend of the show made it for me. It's just corrigated cardboard and polystyrine filler. Very simple
Nice videe mate
Thanks OTO!
I'm drooling
Lol right?!
not a fan of the crazy over-designed costume on that guy, there's just too much stuff going on for my liking, especially the boots and the shoulder piece
I totally get that man. The Hasbro deluxe is definitely more comic accurate. At least his 90's look. This has a lot of MCU influence.
The fabric is bad idea..u put in shelf for 1 or 2 years the material will rotten..i jad this issue with mezco darkseid now he is shirtless
I think it comes down to the type of climate and conditions it’s kept in. Time will tell!
Short legs...😒
Hey! Maybe he's self-conscious about it.
This is such an awful disgusting looking figure in my opinion
Don’t hold back, say how you really feel! :)
