I think it was the Hulk one-shot The End that shows Bruce attempt suicide by shooting himself and the Hulk spits out the bullet, this was before Immotal Hulk. I like Ennis as a writer but he always seems to forget Canon for plot armor. great video by the way.

I really like these videos, as a comic enthusiast it can be hard to find stories that you really want to read, especially when trying to track down valuable and/or famous issues. So getting a short digestible synopsis of these stories in someone else’s words is fun. Thanks Dave, keep it up!

Good lord! Are you sure that one lady who got run over by *GHOST RIDER* isn’t a superhuman of some sort? That is hilarious!
Speaking of Ghost Rider, how and when did Frank kill him? How did I he manage that?

Wow! What in the world! I had been looking up The Punisher and trying to get something that might affordably represent him in my collection here (I have something elsewhere but it isn't accessible right now), and I was comparing all the different figures for The Punisher, all day, so this is really amazing to see! So glad that you were able to get a video up as well, thank you so much for making this!

If The punisher knew Wolverine was his target, The Punisher would use adamantium bullets and just blasted wolverines vital organs, then rip them out before they had the chance to regenerate.

Alright, I watched the whole video, and it was just totally excellent, you did everything, it was full of humor and jokes throughout without pause, it had sophisticated and true, well thought-out commentary about things that was totally relatable, it was full of character performances to get an idea of the kinds of voices you would create for these characters and readings, not only were they excellent and very well done, totally professional quality, but they were also very entertaining and funny as well.
I was just completely dosed with non-stop pleasure watching this whole video, I loved laughing, I was completely entertained throughout. Your "Second Verse Same as the First" which appears in the Henry the Eighth song was noticed and my wife sang the whole song up until that point haha, and you also referred to another song with the Irony commentary, you displayed and used your toys or footage of toys that I loved seeing (some of those figures are the ones I was considering getting a hold of as well), and you happened to be talking about a character that I was looking into and looking to buy a representation of too, perhaps thanks to your amazing psychic abilities (or mine, or both of ours!)!
You even altered the way you referred to the notifications and subscriptions so that people might give it a little more attention which I hope works (though I think it might help even more if you are looking right at the camera and your face is visible when you're telling them to do that). I loved seeing that Punisher game as well, which was a favorite in my childhood, I've always loved the punisher. This was a totally great story to select too, full of all kinds of characters and so much to see (and so many opportunities for tags and search results as well if all the characters that make an appearance can be mentioned, possibly writing out stuff in the descriptions might help as well).
So, I hope that the results from this video and effort are good, and that it wasn't too difficult to plan, put together what was needed for the sections, perform each, edit, and upload, because this was a completely perfect video for me, totally enjoyable, enjoyable for all ages on UA-cam even if it was quite adult, I loved the story, I love some excursions into massacring annoying characters, and that a somewhat normal sort of person is able to do it, it was a lot of fun. Out of the Marvel Universe, I think the character that resembles me the most is probably The Punisher, and his bad attitude and solutions to things are often how I feel when hearing about terrible things, so I've always loved the character a lot, including his van and other stuff. My favorite Marvel Legends figure version might be the simple "Retro" one, though a similar one to that was also produced which I'm considering as well, it is nearly identical to the Retro version but has some differences in the paint applied to the heads, where I tend to prefer the clean shaven version most probably. In some images of Macendale he appears similar to The Punisher and has a similar character in some ways too, so my Punisher and Macendale might be sort of combined and I may even use the head sculp for Macendale, making it all the more likely that I'll get a Punisher figure soon.
I was considering the Ultimate version with the Motorcycle, but his appearance there is a little bit too messed up and ugly even, where I prefer The Punisher to look more handsome. It was sort of annoying how many similar looking characters were appearing at one point, where Macendale was talking to The Foreigner and both looked pretty similar to one another, and then The Punisher at the time also looked pretty similar as well, and there were likely others too, even one of the characters who was supposedly brainwashed into thinking they were the Hobgoblin or something, called Lefty Donovan or something, even seemed to resemble them. The Hobgoblin also seemed to have a van full of equipment that finally crashed into the water, and then that scene seemed to be taken and put into the film Maniac Cop at the end, and The Maniac Cop in many ways also seemed like a sort of character like The Punisher too, which was very popular through films like Death Wish, Dirty Harry, and The Exterminator, among others.
So, for this type of video, this is probably my favorite so far, it all went very smoothly, it wasn't all too long (the length of a cartoon episode or something), and it had everything, non stop humor, lots of voices and performances, so much entertainment value, it was also educational and informative (about this comic, this writer, showing the art, the time period, mentioning other stuff briefly as well, showing the various toys too which lets people know about the figures, if you know their names and it isn't too much trouble you could even add the names of the figures when they are being shown in case people might want to look them up or buy them, but if anything ends up making the process of making the videos unnecessarily difficult or burdensome seeming those should be skipped, because it is fine without that too).
I'd absolutely love to see more of this style, but all the elements that were so prevalent here in this video can be implemented in any other style and all the other videos you make too, including Good News videos, reviews (of figures, films, food), play alongs & watch alongs, live streams, figure lists, and whatever else you might make!
I think when people arrive on the channel (and they will arrive more maybe if people share the videos with others and you somehow find the time to visit other channels maybe and leave comments or something, I've noticed other UA-camrs sometimes, without mentioning that they have a channel, leave some sort of comment in channels all across UA-cam, particularly of popular videos, and then curious people end up clicking their name because of their comment and seeing that they have a channel and checking out their videos) if they see non-stop comedy and great performances, voices, nostalgic references, wackiness of all sorts of going on, they will see that the entertainment value is extremely high and very likely to occur in any video on this channel, and a lot of people will stay.
You jumped from .6 to .7 when this video was uploaded, so it seems to me that when you make a lot of videos and are uploading a lot, each upload might bring in a number of new subscribers. Very soon you'll bypass 20k, and then the next stop is 25k, then 30k, then 50k, 75k, and 100k. You may also want to keep track of how often you gain a new Patreon funder and how often you also end up selling merchandise and if anything seems to better move things in that direction. If you're somehow able to add 10k per month, you'll be well on your way, and if you can get more than that, all the better, but one needn't be the least bit disappointed if things seem slow, as the way these things work is still rather mysterious, and I've noticed that there may be some adjustments going on with what UA-cam is doing and a lot of channels have suddenly started stagnating after a huge influx, but that could also be because people are getting more accustomed to UA-cam and in other cases becoming more busy after adjusting to the changes, possibly getting new jobs or figuring out new routines with new lifestyles and living situations caused by the issues going on right now. The guy right across from me in this building is getting evicted for example due to being unable to pay his rent after the government assistance stopped and they haven't been able to get any job either, so these kinds of fluctuations are going on right now all across the world and the results may end up showing in how many subscriptions end up happening sometimes, but if you keep on pushing through you are basically guaranteed success, especially if you keep on experimenting with all kinds of aggressive techniques and tactics to keep growing and getting the funding you need to make this the main source of income.
All the variety you make available on the channel should also keep you from feeling burned out about what you make, you'll be able to make "making whatever" habitual and so the people on your channel will be used to it and basically both never know what to expect but also not to expect you to be just trapped doing the same thing over and over, except that the consistency should be in the entertainment and enjoyment you provide through your humor, performances, and insights as well. The audience is intelligent and likes to be treated as intelligent, and the audience also has the humor of intelligent people, which is just childish silliness basically. Dull people are the ones who tend to take everything really seriously and don't like fooling around or even appreciate the kind of talent involved in being ridiculous and loose enough to perform voices or burst into song.
Anyone who watched this video and has any sense will see that the other videos on UA-cam don't match this total sort of entertainment value or level of humor. I saw a video earlier, and this basically covers aspects of that style (I watched it on mute though, so I don't know what voices are used or whatever, but you clearly have demonstrated how awesome it would be for you to perform comic scenes): ua-cam.com/video/u4kd6R7QHvc/v-deo.html they managed to get a good chunk of views by having an exciting sort of topic and title probably.

Of topic, I’m new to your channel and I love it 😊 I’m 39 years old and I’m starting now to collect action figures 🙈 sadly every figure I’m interested in is sold out 😂 but I will not give up. You have a real cool street diorama where you pose your figures and I want to build something similar but I don’t know how. Can you give me some advice what materials you have used to build that beautiful diorama? Keep up your channel, I really appreciate your work ☺️👍

I'm just putting this interaction I just had in another video about Double Dragon that made like a nearly 4 hour or 3 and a half hour video on the game series which was receiving a lot of positive comments from people just for the length. This comment chain doesn't reflect anything about this Punisher video that I liked a lot, but I thought it might be interesting to see some of my arguments against the long format single video trend on UA-cam. I've included the comments by the other guy as well, which I felt bad about since he was being encouraging and friendly towards the guy and I used it as an opportunity (in a lighthearted way, but they may not have taken it that way) to try to discourage that type of video (which I end up avoiding or finding really difficult to complete, and how much more so if I don't even like or enjoy the person or personality making it or their sound or voice or jokes. Like, if I have trouble getting through long videos on my absolute favorite channel, then these other people don't stand a chance!):

Please don't encourage this, there are so many UA-camrs making sickeningly long, stretched out videos, how does that really help anyone when the same information can be provided in a condensed manner so that we can get on with our days and other activities?

@Usama Thakur Haha, that is true, and my comment was mainly made in jest, because I've noticed a lot of UA-camrs have been headed in the direction of making unnecessarily long videos that are absolutely tedious to watch and find the time for, setting aside this much time for something like that can be really difficult, and I appreciated the days when people would put out quick and efficient videos that get me all the information I'm interested in, along with humor, in a much shorter format.
I noticed that a lot of people send praise for the apparent difficulty involved in making long format videos, and this might end up actually further encouraging UA-camrs in this direction since they think their audience is appreciating it. Did you watch this entire video, or will you? I personally doubt a lot of people are able to even watch through these, and so they watch a little, skip through, or skip it altogether, otherwise leaving it playing while they do other things as well, making all the effort involved, all the editing, all the collection of footage, sort of arbitrary and pointless in the end. They may have made it for love of the subject, but are they themselves going to be able to sit down and hear themselves speak about something for this length of time? I think that is unlikely as well, so I wonder who these are for anyway? In all honestly, I would've loved to watch something informative about these games, but not at the cost of this length, its actually asking too much of the audience I think.
So, your comment was fine, I was just using it as an opportunity to show my personal opinion, which is that these long format videos are not really as good as people might be making them seem, they waste a lot of time, stretch things out, they aren't as entertaining or satisfying as better condensed things with quicker humor and rapid information, I am certain that all this information could be squeezed down, along with humor, for far less time, even just 20 minutes or less, but even an hour is asking a lot, but when UA-camrs go for 3 or 4 hours I feel they are basically getting out of control, I don't know if it is their ego or what. Like can you imagine the kind of mentality or view one would have of themselves to even offer that people should sit and listen to them for that long on any subject?
Many people probably try, and then pause the video to do other things, but find that they are never able to return, and the video ends up getting lost amongst so many other options which might also offer satisfaction a lot more quickly.
Furthermore, I'm curious as to how much money the creator of this video is actually making, and if they could, with that money, provide material that is of better quality and more considerate of the viewers and their own limited time constraints, in other words, a better product, better made. Quantity or length, even unnecessarily hard work and effort, doesn't always translate into the best possible result or product or experience for the viewer and the audience, which would take some more consideration for what kind of experience would be the absolute best for people, so that they don't feel utterly exhausted from just one video or offer like this.
I know, that sounds terribly disappointing to me too, that a person should put in so much work and then hear complaints about it, but I'm thinking of it from another direction, the direction of the consumer who doesn't necessarily find there to be more true value in stretched out long form singe videos. He could've even broken it down in multiple videos and may have benefiting more from that.
This is just my opinion of course, and I hope there are others who might feel this way but haven't voiced it or formulated their thoughts on the matter.
Again, nothing was wrong with your comment, even if you were encouraging them, I was just trying to bring up my own qualms with UA-camrs headed in this direction which is making it more uncomfortable for me to even attempt to watch their videos or start them when they are this length and I'm unlikely to finish them, so I just skip it altogether, and they may be losing viewers who are similar due to these long format things, but maybe they pay off. I think they could've made something more convenient for themselves and everyone watching though."

@@DisplayingModelBehaviour Yeah, you've never gotten close to being like the people I wrote that comment about, and even when you've made longer things they've been fun throughout, I think mainly those sorts of have been the live streams and that is just like sitting in a room together and having a good time, rather than being lectured with some kind of podcast essays by these people who must love the sound of their own voices or something. You've also always mentioned having the feeling that people might not want to sit around and listen to you go on and on, even though they probably do or would, while these people have no self-monitoring system apparently or consideration for people with what they present. Like, even these movies that are headed towards 4 hours long sometimes seem pretty annoying to me. I mean, that is get to get 4 hours for whatever amount of money they made the film for, I guess, but really it makes for an uncomfortable process sometimes, just sitting around watching something for so long, even with breaks, finding the mood to get back into it again. I'm trying to figure out what has led people into this direction on UA-cam, if it is their ego or if they think they are doing people a favor or justifying their wealth coming in from Patreon and views, or if it is somehow benefiting them and their algorithm, at least it seems that it did so in the past.
For example, Mr. Beast created videos of the lowest quality, where he just sits around for like 24 hours or something, so it was a 24 hour long video or more, and this was all it was, watch him sit around for 24 hours. It just seems rude, but anyway it was stuff like that which rocketing his channel somehow, and now he is a multi millionaire because of it, because people would challenge themselves to leave the video playing for 24 hours or at least a few hours, and it would count as a huge amount of view times for him, it was basically gaming the system, tricking it, or downright cheating, but it paid off, now people say he is charitable lol.
I'm pretty annoyed with the general UA-cam public, and the algorithm as well, because you've made some really great videos and they just get a pittance even though they have a much higher entertainment value than a lot of other videos which I'm seeing are getting like 300,000 views or more, regularly, from people who just whine about things or repeat themselves incessantly for 16 minutes or more. The "numbers", "lists", "best" type videos still seem to get a lot of views, at least on your channel, but it would probably not be all that great for the freedom and creativity to let this algorithm or the fickleness and possibly the idiocy of the mainstream UA-cam viewer guide what content is made, because so much good stuff would just not be created otherwise.
It takes time I guess, but I've recently seen some terrifying channels where the people have been at it for like years and somehow the algorithm overlooks them completely, perfectly quality videos that have been up since 2017 or earlier have accumulated just 200 views or less sometimes, like 28, on channels where people have been working to this day making videos regularly.
I think just about anyone who has succeeded has done so by tagging along on trends or creating some kind of obnoxious content like sitting around for hours or something that caught the interest of bored children.
I saw a guy called Elvis The Alien (who seems to be profiting tremendously from his clothing line Aylien or something like that), suddenly get just a million subscribers and was able to buy a house and move across the United States to what I imagine is quite a large property in Las Vegas, and all that was achieved seemingly in a very short amount of time. All he does is make mild jokes and poke fun at films, particularly recent ones, but also older ones too, and he gets only a chunk of his subscribers returning to view them I think, but it is enough.
If you can somehow build up to 100,000 - 300,000 views per day, even if it takes multiple releases per day or some other strategy, that might get things going, but even people at 60k a day might be getting enough success, but a lot of these people are heavily supported (at least initially) by pretty large Patreon followings.

    • @aFoxyFox.
      @aFoxyFox. 2 роки тому

      Part 2
So this is just the beginning of February, do you have any plans for this month? I'm thinking that a kind of pre-filming strategy where you film a lot on a day off and give yourself more time on other days to work and study and relax while videos keep getting released daily (and multiple throughout the day) might help, as well as trying for other topics and types of videos, like, you have built a little toy community, so the initial results for a movie community might take a little time but should probably be worked on, but each group that comes along with each type, that generally has a good chance of overlapping, will give you views from your regulars, from toy people who have a mutual interest in the other thing like anime or recent films, then there is a nostalgia crowd. Everyone is ready for comedy and having a laugh and silly antics, and apparently there are also a chunk of people who are gamers, then a chunk who want to hear film analysis, then there is a whole chunk of people who just want some kind of heartfelt seeming talks or advice, some want to hear about financial things, others want to hear about tech, some want to hear about stories from the news or history. Some are likely avoiding this channel thinking that it is a toy channel, even if they are comic book collectors or avid film watchers. I'd love to see if somehow so much more could be covered and different communities could be built up, with a lot of overlap and people from one group or type of video coming on over and finding an interest in the other types, rather than the formerly (and possibly still) popular tactic of the pure and specific niche .
Even for the niche though, it is likely too small of a niche to just be about one type of thing (like just Marvel Legends) so the expansions through the news, showing other things you've collected, I think that was all pretty helpful when it happened.
Also, if all expenses, of money as well as time, can be brought to a minimum, then the focus for this year can be pushing the channel towards more money and savings. As the lowest goal, if this channel, including Patreon, Merch, and ads, and UA-cam payments, can get you as much as a minimum wage job in the UK, that can be the lowest level achievement, and then if it can go from there to a mid level or higher paying type of job, that can be another marking point, and then if it can match your highest paying and most lucrative job from the past, then exceed it.
I'm curious if you have any ideas or strategies that you might be trying out for this year and any particularly expectations or hopes or goals and their levels from the bare minimum achievements for the year you might expect or hope for to the more miraculous ones.
Also, I think if you see success in some other people's videos and things, of any sort, you can copy them and create your version of them, changing up the titles slightly but keeping them close enough to what seems to work, since your version will always be better, and you may be able to get ahead that way. Sure, people might make a fuss or something, there is a chance of that, but these are desperate times!
Also, besides that, so many of these people are all copying each others videos freely and apparently it keeps working, people just choose the burger from the burger place they like more or develop some kind of loyalty towards or which they have made habitual, and so the same seems to be the case for content. I see one copy after another, and a lot of them getting as much success as the others, all from their own loyalists or teams, the ones who like that particular person for whatever reason even though the same topic is covered and even the same title or nearly the same title sometimes.
I think you can do it, totally, and very soon! All it requires is that these efforts make you around 2000 "bucks" to 3000 a month for the bare minimum goal. If you can get it like some of these people, they are making 6000 to 10000 a month, and then it isn't long before they start making ridiculous amounts like 50,000 dollars a month sometimes, just gossiping, talking about things going on in the world, giving away the entire plots of movies and making fun of them, I mean its a really nice life and lifestyle to be able to just relax at home (and eventually your own bigger place and space) and have enough savings and support that you can basically just do whatever, say whatever, follow your interests, talk about what you want when you want, take breaks, the pressure is off, but especially if you're able to create a schedule where you produce a lot that can be released in a measured way which gives the impression of constant activity so that people remain invested and returning the channel regularly, even multiple times a day (like I check quite often, and probably others do too, so that your channel ends up being searched quite a bit and appears more quickly when one types David Displays or something like that).
Anyway, the comment I made originally was about these bores putting in a lot of time and effort to create videos that are so long that I can't even begin them, sort of like TV shows with a million seasons and I just give up before starting.
I would need to really like them quite a bit to even try, so it is hard for me to imagine how they manage to get people to go through such things, particularly when they are talking about sort of dated things like the Double Dragons franchise or whatever, which I wouldn't mind versions of these same sorts of videos made by you, and why wouldn't people, if they ever find out about it, choose the more entertaining version, and feel all the more willing to give a try to something that doesn't require as much of an investment of time. The issue is, the different age groups must be thinking differently, and that is why I try to question various people and find out more about how they are actually approaching videos and experiencing them.

I think every writer assumes the X-Men are all dumb (which in fairness, they often all especially when it comes to being educators) because this isn't even the only what if style story that takes them all out by having them get lured to a location they didn't fully check out and then getting nuked. In a two-part issue of New X-Men, the character Prodigy does the exact same thing.

This is actually really good. What a dark and disturbing story. This is why I like the Punisher. I don’t agree with anything he does, but I still feel he’s sympathetic.

That's right brother Dave we read comics to skateboard Monday lines and are boring and all that I hated it that all these people are there aren't comic book fans criticize marvel movies in DC movies and they put a political term to it like black panther African American people don't want people of other cultures to go see it and most of them that say that aren't comic book fans.

Great recap. I'm not against the concept but Frank getting wins just by shooting or bombing people seems hella lazy and extremely out of character for his opponents, least give Frank an amp via magical/cosmic means to make it somewhat plausable lol

I've never liked The Punisher and this story was kinda lame. You made it more entertaining than it actually was though lol I've been watching all the As Told By Toys videos lately and I've loved every one of them!
