In reference to the pop star/monster bar in “I Serve The Base”, I think it’s important to contextualise to your dad by showing him 2 of Future’s earliest and biggest hits were “Turn on the Lights” & “Neva End”. This was way more pop and/or mainstream and commercially viable than the material on DS2 and onwards.
When he say’s they try to make him a “Popstar” .. Him & Kelly Rowland had a super POPULAR song briefly b4 this album.. called “NEVER END” from his “Pluto” Album 2012.. Future wasn’t rocking with that image-so it “turned him into a MONSTER” Hence his 2014 CLASSIC MIXTAPE “MONSTER” !!
