Ben, My greatest pleasure in music was seeing your dad play in Daytona Beach, Fl. The last time he was here. I guess you were here as well. Few knew your path would come front stage so soon. So sad for the loss, but glad to hear the family is keeping on. God Bless and much love.
Seeing The Hag is seriously at the top of my bucket list. Way back in 7th grade, I asked my parents for tickets and they actually got them. They couldn't find a sitter for the two little siblings, so they took my brothers instead! I'm still mad. He came to Tulsa and I finally got my tickets...then he was sick and had to cancel after we were already in our seats! I will see him one day! He and Ben!
Thanks for posting footage like this Ben, it's awesome.. Merle's bread & butter song. Originally released back in 1969 on his Live album titled "Okie From Muskogee". This trademark song spent several weeks at #1 when the studio version single was released. It also went to #41 on the pop charts as well.
One of my all time favourite Country songs. I first heard it on a reel to reel tape sent to me from Nashville(I'm in Melbourne Australia) Sadly it never made the charts here but ironically a parody of the song called "Hippie from Olima" by the Youngbloods did.

Muchas gracias por poder dejarnos ver un backstage de Merle Haggard de semejante canción. Impecable. Saludos desde Buenos Aires - Argentina.
My Goodness!!! ❤️🔝My Favorite 🔝Singer of all time🔝❤️ Thank you so much for sharing your Daddy with us!!!!
Had the pleasure of seeing The Hag four times, once in Northern Ireland and the rest in the U.S.A
A true legend and I hope to see him again sometime.
So cool! I was fortunate enough to get front row at a Merle show recently. Absolute best night of my life! Even got to meet Ben! Very cool guy!
