Oh boy Walmart may have lost more customers after hearing your experience! I cannot imagine anyone yelling at a customer, especially not you! I am a W+ member, and as I am watching this video I just got a Walmart delivery of groceries. My membership is up for renewal soon and I may have to reconsider. I am in the middle of a 30-day free trial with my local Kroger affiliate and I really do like them so I may have to just stick with Kroger and drop W+; we can't have anybody beating up on our Mandy!
So very sorry about your experience at Walmart! My mom worked for them for over 20 years and was treated insanely poorly. She finally retired a couple years ago at 67 yrs old. They had threatened to fire her for attending her own father's funeral when my grandfather passed in 2003. The way they treat their employees is disgusting and I'm willing to bet that some of those employees tend to take their frustrations out on customers (though that's absolutely no good excuse and my mom sure wasn't like that). After the way they treated my mom I've been the same about them and will extremely rarely ever buy from them, and if I do it's online; I won't step foot into the store. Walmart is absolutely 🗑 🚮
I Can't agree more with you! Many years ago when Old man Sam was still alive, the management cared about their employees. He wanted to get all US made products to sell and would only import something if they couldn't find a US producer that could supply the quantity needed. After his death his son changed all those policies. All he cares about is making more money. They threatened to fire my friend who was a department manager and had been a employee for so long that she was grandfathered in by the old promises of the original store rules. Their reason for this was that she was due to retire with full benefits that they no longer offered. When she didn't quit on the spot they made her a door greeter. They figured she would be so insulted and angry that she would quit. Her attitude was, they can't pay me less so if they want to pay me department manager pay to stand around saying welcome all day instead of doing heavy or complicated things that's fine with me. Her husband had been fighting cancer for over a year and passed away about a month from her retirement date. They deliberately delayed and tried to prevent her from receiving the death benefits from both the life insurance and employment policy that she was due. Walmart does not care about their employees. You are just a number to them. I had a store manager order me to punch out but continue working until I finished the extra project he gave me a hour before I had to leave. He knew I only had 1 hour when he gave it to me. I told him I would if he would put it in writing so I wouldn't get in trouble for working off the clock. His reply was that I could be replaced tomorrow as easily as day labor during the depression, then he stormed off yelling for me to punch out on time. I found a better job and left. I won't shop there either.
Agreed! I wouldn’t shop there if they gave me the products for free. They are so horrible to their employees. It’s basically taking advantage of the disadvantaged.
Amen to this. My sister has worked there for years. She is very mistreated, but stays because the customers love her and seek out her line. My best friend who is the sweetest, most cheerful person in the world only lasted three months because she had never been treated so badly by management.
I will never be able to repay you for how much you’ve inspired me, but I know God will, and that’s more than anything I can do for you. I've gotten so many different delicious recipes from you, Jessica O'Donohue, Amber, Carla Mackenzie, and others. May God continue to bless y'all and y'alls families.
Hey Mandy. I worked a Wally World for 25 1/2 years. I retired from them almost 5 years ago. I only shop there for my cleaning supplies because I earned my lifetime discount. I don't go there for anything else because it just isn't worth it. I had something similar happen after I quit. Not at the store I left. If I didn't have my discount, I would never go there again. I love watching you and your family. My little kitty Pneumalton loves listening to Gracie when she comes on. God Bless you all.
Worked for them for almost a year and that was enough to cure me for life! They treat their employees just as bad as the customers! There is no respect whatsoever.
I dropped Target over the bathroom fiasco and I rarely go into Walmart anymore because I don't feel like ringing up 200.00 worth of groceries for them. My husband's aunt worked there and was treated like a dog. She had to make it until she could retire. I love watching your channel. I have learned a lot from you and am much better about using different spices now. Keep up the great work.
Btw.....I had my hubby buy those caraway pans for me, for Christmas and I'm in love! ❤🤩Thank you for showing them......I'm buying the baking dishes next!
I've worked for Walmart for 12 years. I was a front-end manager for 5 of those years. I told my cashiers, on a regular basis, that those customers shop here which provides them with a paycheck...treat our customers well! However, Walmart hires people with no "people skills." I'm sorry that you were treated so rudely 😔 and, I agree with your decision to no longer spend your money there 🙂
I am disabled and it has been my experience on more then one occasion, that Walmart employees are rude. I had a manager aske me if I was done shopping because he had better things to do then help me

That broccoli dish looked so good. It was cute at the end when the Common Tater was describing the food and Gracie chimed in with a "hell yeah" after each comment. Gotta love that girl.
I have not been in a Walmart in 10 years for exactly the same reason. I went to the customer service counter to ask a question and the gal there called me an idiot. When I demanded that she apologize to me she called security and had them escort me out of the store. I have NEVER been back and NEVER will. If more people demanded respect from the employees Walmart would be a better place! Good for you. I love your recipes and you are so beautiful. Thank you for your bright smile.
My dad works for the transportation division of Walmart and has been there for 17 years. He’s been a truck driver for 40 years and is a truly a professional and caring person. He’s gone above and beyond especially during the height of the pandemic when he would unload his truck and right onto the floor of the store so people had what they needed. It really frustrates me that they don’t treat their employees well so I also don’t shop there.
Sorry to hear about your terrible experience at Walmart. My sister had shoulder surgery and when she asked the checker to pack her bags lightly, the checker angrily replied that she couldnt stand people who bring in their big bags but only want a few things in them! My gosh what difference does it make? Cant we just be kind to one another?
I'm in northern Michigan, and we're a bit cold today. We just warmed up to 10 degrees. My husband specifically requested salmon patties for dinner, so as much as I'd love a soup or stew, or something with gravy (gravy IS a beverage, right?), I'm making his favorite salmon patties with a side of steamed and buttered broccoli, and rice Pilaf. I'm so excited you posted another vid! I always look to you and a few of your cooking friends for inspiration. Amber, at Feeding the Byrds included one of my soup recipes in her recent soup vid! Glad you are feeling better! Hope everyone is well! As always, I thank you for sharing. 💜 🙏
Aww Mandy! I’m so sorry that happened to you in Walmart! My first thought was “how could someone yell at adorable petite little Mandy?!” Knowing corporate didn’t care is making me consider the switch to target. All the prices are about the same these days anyway. But you seem very non confrontational and that makes you better than me haha. Bc I would’ve had to go OFF on some people!
Mandy, you'd never last in northern lower Michigan! MI is my home state (I live much further south now, not being able to tolerate the winters anymore), and when it's cold, it's COLD!!!!! Even here in MO, it can get mighty cold, "robe over the clothes" cold, although it's far less often than in my beloved MI.
Mandy, your Common Tater is exactly right when he said to season (salt+pepper) the meat and not hope for it to happen with the sauce. You may also want to season the sauce. I wad taught to season each step and so as a fellow Tater I do, and get great tasting results. Take care
In the corporate world, Walmart is too big to care. We are like poor peasants to them. I thought I was the only one who wears my robe over my clothes when I'm cold. Yummy recipes as usual Mandy!! 🥰🙏
I suggest making your rice with chicken broth or beef broth. Sometimes I will use Better Than Bouillon Mushroom as well. It ads a lot of great flavor to any dish.
I don't blame you a bit for taking your business elsewhere. Thank you for another great meal lineup! Can't wait to try that chicken broccoli recipe! Btw, try those taters in the air fryer next time, less greasy and sooo delicious! Have a blessed weekend! 💕
Hey Mandy Thank you for sharing the recipes. All look wonderful but the soup is a yes for sure. Sorry to hear about your Walmart experience. I have not been in that store for more than 20 years because of the crowds. My husband goes there from time to time for coffee and other drinks.
Chez-a-rays… I believe that’s the pronounciation… and I just love it on just about everything♥️Great recipe by the way!!!YJUMMY♥️‼️🙋♀️here’s some flowers for💕💐💐💐💐💐💐♥️‼️
I cooked a pork tenderloin in my Instant Pot last night and it was so delicious, fall apart tender. It was prepackaged in a marinade of garlic and rosemary herbs. I had mash potatoes with that and roasted balsamic asparagus.....
Just wanted to share something I found that's really helpful when chopping onions. Place a wet paper towel or cloth at the corner of your cutting board. The chemicals that cause irritation in the onion are attracted to water, so instead of going to your eyes it will go to the wet towel instead! It works great!
It really does work, after I watched your video and try it with a paper towel. When I chope onions and I get many tears and I also wear contacts and I can’t see anything 😅
Ok Mandy, I have to tell you that spinach stems never bothered me before, now I find myself picking off the stems! Thanks alot! 😂 So love the dynamics of you and your family. I so enjoy watching your episodes and getting great recipes!
You two are so much fun to watch. I’m all about some yummy meals! 🥰 Thanks for sharing your Wal-Mart experience with us. It’s not the first time I’ve heard things like this. There’s no excuse for treating a customer unkindly. So sad! 😞
That is awesome that you havent stepped foot into a Walmart since June 2020. I am slowly pulling away but I live in a small town and I have only 2 choices, Walmart or Brookshire Brothers but it is very expensive. Walmart has not much competition so they raise prices, the prices that rung up at the register dont match the shelf price. I am frustrated with them so I have been driving an hour away to shop at Kroger or HEB to support the state of Texas. Diesel has gone up so it's a difficult choice each week for me to make. It's a vicious cycle but this video encouraged me to keep doing it. The food looks fantastic. Thanks for the inspiration.
Tony Chachere' is pronounced "Sa ( like sad without the 'd') & sharee". 😊 Cajun lady here 🙋♀️ Those potatoes go well with fried seafood, gator, frog legs or boiled crawfish, yum. Love watching you & the common tator, ya'll are hilarious. 🤣😂💜💕💕💕
I cannot believe there’s a grown man that will eat vegetables and not just corn. He eats spinach and white beans, and all kinds of things. I’m very impressed with your man.
Wow-so sorry about what happened at Walmart and appalled that Corporate wasn’t concerned. Last night I threw together a marinade for pork tenderloin, soy sauce, honey and garlic-it was delicious. Totally agree about doubling the sauce, I do the same thing.
Mandy I’m always cold! It could be in the 80s in our apartment and I’m freezing! My fiancé says it’s because I’ve lost over 150lbs but I still have plenty of “padding” so I shouldn’t be cold. I flip the heat on all the time up into the higher 80s trying to get warm and have a jacket on and a blanket over my legs while I work because I work from home.
Look up swamp soup. A pantry meal with white beans, canned turnip greens and the link sausage sausage. I love the link sausage but don't enjoy it wet in soup so I am going to use hot Italian sausage. I have all the ingredients and may cook it this week. Never had canned turnip greens but love pantry meals.
Hey yall!just wanted to thank you so much for the joy you bring to my life. I was in Walmart today and had such a terrible experience that I left in tears. Now, hearing your story I am thinking I will join you in not giving them anymore of my money or time or joy!
My girls and I love watching you after they get home from the bus. And we're from Louisiana, and we laughed at you trying to say chacheries. But we loved this video. everything looked yummy
Hey Mandy, I read that if you put a wet paper towel next to the cutting board when you are chopping onions, the paper towel will absorb the stuff in the onions that makes us cry. Haven't tried it yet as we haven't used onions in a while, but supposedly the 'chemical' in the onions is attracted to moisture, which our eyes have lots of, and if the paper towel is closer to the onion when you are chopping it, the wet paper towel will attract the chemical to it instead of to your eyes. You and your hubby are a hoot!
Thumbs up on the soup as well as not shopping at Walmart! I'm gonna try the soup soon. Haven't shopped at Walmart in ten years and don't miss it a bit.
We agree wholeheartedly about Walmart. Thank you for voicing your concerns here. My Mon now lives in Oklahoma & she only has a Walmart & a small local market, so she's forced to shop there sometimes, and she hates it. They seem to have a monopoly on the Midwest.
I’m right there with you on doubling, or even tripling sauces. I’m also a sucker for Asian food. Thanks for another great video! Have a blessed weekend!
Hey y'all. Id LOVE to see you guys go to an asian supermarket and get some cool new ingredients to try as yall like asian flavors so much. My daughter and I travel over an hour to Gainesville FL to hit the 3 markets and get fun authentic foods to cook with. Mexican markets are super fun as well and you gotta try their fresh chicharones. They are AMAZING fresh. Love all you do💗
I love your channel! My hubby and I love watching together! And that's saying a lot when he tells me he wants to watch it with me!! He complains frequently "your watching that again!" Unless Mandy in the making is on! He says to me, "is there another one we can watch!" After about 4 or 5 videos I have just watched moments earlier are over he is still wanting to watch more!! And in each video he is saying can "we" make that!" can we make that!" but the "we" means "wife make" he eats lol! Ok, the reason my comment started was every time I see your video in your kitchen and see your coffee maker which I have too... this morning I was trying to start my pod cup of coffee, and across the screen said "closlid" as it flashes in "sections" across the screen I could not figure it out! I unplugged the thing multiple times and finely decided to Google it! Oh my, I was Embarrassed to say I could not get that! As it was flashing across the screen in different sections and my morning brain did not get it! I wanted to give you a "heads up" if ever passes across your screen with a morning brain what it meant? Lift the pod lid and press the start button! It is not all on the screen at once it moves fast! Maybe I am the only one who can't figure something this simple in the morning! All I could do is laugh at myself with my brother-in-law who was visiting to make it even more embarrassing! He was standing there all the time! I know my hubby and I returned our last coffee machine! The same one for I think, "the same reason!" I think it said exactly that! Wow, I'm so slow! And very embarrassed!
My husband does not like any crunch in his veggies so I just cooked the broccoli ahead. It was still yummy!! Definitely make extra sauce. The potato dish looks really good too.
Love the way you pronounce the word 'boil' as 'bowl'. Fab recipe. I cook something very similar for Saturday lunchtimes when we're hungry but not particularly starving, and it's a real filler with some buttered sourdough bread. x
Hi Mandy. Everything looked great! I enjoyed hearing the comments as usual. I wanted to ask about what happened with Walmart but I wasn’t going to. Lol. I’m so sorry that happened to you. Why in the world would they treat you like that? You are so sweet and you just have such a kind face.🥰 Thank you for sharing and for just being you.🤗❤️

You should try this very easy recipe for a pork tenderloin. Put tenderloin in the crock pot and then put in a can of whole cranberries put on lid and set it on low for 6-8 hours. We do not like much pork at all but when I made this my daughter wanted more.... said she would have filled her whole plate with it. Love your videos 😊

I don't blame you a bit for taking your business elsewhere. Thank you for another great meal lineup! Can't wait to try that chicken broccoli recipe! Btw, try those taters in the air fryer next time, less greasy and sooo delicious! Have a blessed weekend! 💕
Hey Mandy
Thank you for sharing the recipes. All look wonderful but the soup is a yes for sure. Sorry to hear about your Walmart experience. I have not been in that store for more than 20 years because of the crowds. My husband goes there from time to time for coffee and other drinks.
Chez-a-rays… I believe that’s the pronounciation… and I just love it on just about everything♥️Great recipe by the way!!!YJUMMY♥️‼️🙋♀️here’s some flowers for💕💐💐💐💐💐💐♥️‼️
Hi Mandy I love your recipes I have made this zuppa tuscana but instead of spinich I used kale and added potatoes and bacon
That’s how I make mine too!
Ok Mandy,
I have to tell you that spinach stems never bothered me before, now I find myself picking off the stems! Thanks alot! 😂 So love the dynamics of you and your family. I so enjoy watching your episodes and getting great recipes!
What's the problem in a soup? Do they taste bad? I think canned spinach has stems
@@recoveringsoul755 there's no problem. It's just a personal preference.😊
@@janieloyd7795 I can see it in a salad because stems whip you in the face and fling salad dressing lol
@@recoveringsoul755 😂😂
Zuppa Toscana is my favorite. It's a potato and sausage soup with Kale.
Ya!!! Watched Over the Top like 20 times that summer it came out. Loved it.
You two are so much fun to watch. I’m all about some yummy meals! 🥰 Thanks for sharing your Wal-Mart experience with us. It’s not the first time I’ve heard things like this. There’s no excuse for treating a customer unkindly. So sad! 😞
My mama found in the paper Piggly Wiggly Caribbean pork lion and that was our go to since then. Its been at least 15 yrs.
When in doubt double it out maybe even three times thank you for all your inspiration
Who would not love our Mandy
Mandy I’m always cold! It could be in the 80s in our apartment and I’m freezing! My fiancé says it’s because I’ve lost over 150lbs but I still have plenty of “padding” so I shouldn’t be cold. I flip the heat on all the time up into the higher 80s trying to get warm and have a jacket on and a blanket over my legs while I work because I work from home.
all the dishes look amazing I love how you too cook in the kitchen together!!!! love your channel
Cuz of health problems I am mostly homebound, family lives on West coast.i always smile watching you and your family, especially when common tator is helping you!my heart smiles...it definitely brightens my day,and on really rough days binge watching yall makes it soo much better!again, thank you for sharing your love and life and laughs with us!!God bless yall and lots of love!your tastes are like ours,so your recipe choices are the bomb!
Praying for your health, Tracie! I am so glad that we can help bring you smiles!
I was in Walmart today and had such a terrible experience that I left in tears. Now, hearing your story I am thinking I will join you in not giving them anymore of my money or time or joy!
I think peanuts are a must with the chicken stir fry. Of course I love peanuts and not allergic.
My girls and I love watching you after they get home from the bus. And we're from Louisiana, and we laughed at you trying to say chacheries. But we loved this video. everything looked yummy
I do the same thing with the breaded chicken patties to make a quick chicken parm for dinners
Sauce is the Boss! I agree Steven, I agree.
Awesome video. They all look so delicious. Gracie Lou is so adorable 🥰
Love all you do💗
Lemongrass! Thai food is always a winner!
Fab recipe. I cook something very similar for Saturday lunchtimes when we're hungry but not particularly starving, and it's a real filler with some buttered sourdough bread. x
That and the word oil! Brings a smile to my face!
Me too. Don't change your boil and oil pronunciations!
Lol, had to laugh about the movie “Over the Top”. My hubby had me watch it during the pandemic, it was an oldie but goodie!
Hi Mandy. Everything looked great! I enjoyed hearing the comments as usual. I wanted to ask about what happened with Walmart but I wasn’t going to. Lol. I’m so sorry that happened to you. Why in the world would they treat you like that? You are so sweet and you just have such a kind face.🥰
Thank you for sharing and for just being you.🤗❤️
Yes,,
Over the top is a great movie Steven
100% agree 💪🏻
Excellent channel and thanks for the many many dinner ideas. Can’t wait for Friday’s to watch your videos (and Tuesday’s too, of course)
Have a great week
OMG she didn't know Over the Top?! LOL Love these videos! and Steven and Cole's comments!
Yes i would want more sauce too. Looked very good as they all did.
That pork tenderloin and potatoes dish looks delicious. Considering the price of pork tenderloin, I would be serving that as a dinner. My lunch isn't usually so elaborate. Keep the recipes coming Mandy. I really enjoy the banter between you guys.
Aldi has a pork lion for about $8. We get at least 3 dinners or more for 2.
I’m definitely trying ALL of these! I think I’ll add cashews to the stir fry.
I don't go to Walmart any more either. United we stand!
Over the top was a great movie. Lol Steven is a riot.
I just wanted to thank you both for making these videos not only
Do they give great ideas for meals but you both have beautiful souls that are amazing to watch and bring me comfort on hard days bless you
Everything looked delicious 😋 I loved the stir fry 😋
Love 💞 your video and your recipes. Bless you and your beautiful family. I cook some of your recipe and my husband love them .
I have this problem with small pieces of chicken when I'm making 1 pot meals. The chicken has rock hard rubber parts. I'm like "WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?" 🤦♀️ Thank you for every recipe! My daughter and I love your channel. Have a wonderful week 🙏
Love that you cook together!
Over The Top with Sylvester Stallone. Yes! I loved that movie as a kid. Steven needs to put that movie on for you.
Oh, l will be trying the soup and the stir fry for sure. I love Gracie Lou she is so precious
Over the top is one of my favorite movies!
for chopping onions chew on a toothpick....... doesnt work for everyone but it works wonders for me and its an easy quick thing to grab.
Just made the soup, and OMG!, so delicious!!!!, like he said, taste light but with lots of flavor!!
Thank you!!!!
I understand about Walmart. Proud of you both for taking a stand. I have not shopped at Walmart since I retired in Dec 2018.
TheI other day I told you that I had tried 3 of your dishes and couldn't remember the name of 1. I remembered the last one. It was the Smothered Chicken that your brother-in-law shared with you. He seems like a very nice guy. It was a great dish.
We always add Tony Chachere's into our dry mix for frying fish, if there will be kids, we add it afterwards, always on the table for fish. I'm Brenda from Michigan and you all are the best. Keep cooking!
Lol. I to wear sweatpants and a sweatshirt and I sometimes wear my robe while relaxing around the house my husband looked at me once and said “well I guess the honey moons over”! He was just kidding and we both laughed because I know I looked ridiculous we’ve been married almost 31 years! ❤
Oh my word I love potatoes and onions with lemon pepper so I can only Imagine how that would taste! Love watching you guys you make me smile 🤩
Thank you for the meal plan for the week, so hard to think of something different!
