The HR and VHR are the engines known to blow gallery gaskets. People only talk down on the DE because it makes the least power and have oil consumption issues. Still a good engine overall. If built right the DE will treat you well, I’ve always thought HR swapping is a waste of money since you only gain 18ish whp over a DE I once wanted to HR swap but saw how pointless it was, cool build.
DE is not bad at all. Extremely reliable if you look after it. I have my 233k miles, stock DE in my drift sedan and it rips very nicely. And when it blows. I'm gonna slap another one right I'm there and do a tune.
The DE is better at highest levels it holds all the records. With that being said all VQ are still not fully figured out after all these years and eventually you’ll get sick of all of them. I swapped the engine and no more headaches etc etc money well used. You might do the same fairly soon.
Can’t remember what springs are installed (either 5 or 7). I have a Tial WG & BOV, and my car is set up for (2) different maps. 6.5 psi on wastegate and 9.2 (high boost) using a turbosmart E boost 2 controller.
Internally, the only thing I had done was the gallery gaskets/ other gaskets, timing components, seals etc. Limited boost to 6psi low/ 9 psi high, 34 row oil cooler, and heat management. I think the oil less Comp turbo is the key to not starving the motor of oil.
Good question. I’m actually gonna talk about that in my next vid. It depends on the kit. For mine, I had to give it up. It’s possible to get some custom lines made, but I don’t really need it for my driving habits.

Thank you! Appreciate you checking out the vid😃
I've always loved the nissan Z. My first car was an 87 300zx
I love it so far. Can’t wait to get it exactly how I want it.

Originally I wanted a LS3, but quality of work in my area is, meh…
I'm looking at a G37 sedan or Q50 for my next daily
How did you tighten up wiring harness cable ? Looks great !
Thanks for watching! I wrapped the harness in Tesa high heat harness tape and removed brackets and ties that go across the front of the manifold.
Stock block? Love the build
stock block.
Hey 2 questions
What’s the BOV spring PSI? What’s the wastegate spring psi?
Can’t remember what springs are installed (either 5 or 7). I have a Tial WG & BOV, and my car is set up for (2) different maps. 6.5 psi on wastegate and 9.2 (high boost) using a turbosmart E boost 2 controller.
Hey man I’m thinking about slapping a turbo on my de and I was wondering if you did anything internal on the de?

@@fred_b_360 awesome man! Thank you for the quick reply!!
it is possible to keep your AC going turbo?
Good question. I’m actually gonna talk about that in my next vid. It depends on the kit. For mine, I had to give it up. It’s possible to get some custom lines made, but I don’t really need it for my driving habits.
@fred_b_360 ok, thanks I live in Florida so AC is needed maybe with a rear mount kit it's more possible
who was the kit fabricated by? soho?
RZG Turbo Kit. Soho did the engine swap, maintenance, and tuning.
How many psi of boost?
6.5 low boost (wg)
9.2 high boost
