  • If you are going to make Ninja Creami ice cream, you need a good cherry vanilla recipe in your back pocket. Fingers crossed that you get some fresh cherries on sale like I did! But don't worry, you can use frozen cherries in this whole food plant-based cherry chocolate chip ice cream recipe.
    I just mashed pitted cherries with some non-dairy milk, a little vanilla, and the sweetener of your choice. I used a tablespoon of maple syrup, but you can use date syrup or paste instead.
    Freeze 24 hours, then spin on light ice cream in your Ninja Creami. If it's powdery, add a few tablespoons of non-dairy milk and respin.
    Make a well in the center and put a few tablespoons of vegan chocolate chips, and use the mix-in setting.

    Thank you, Kathy! I love cherry chocolate chip ice cream and I’ve been making it in the Vitamix . This will be one of the first flavors I’ll make when I am ready to start using my Deluxe Ninja Creami 😋

    I’d add almond extract as it tastes like cherry

    This was so informative! My Creami just arrived yesterday. I really appreciate the way you explain how to do every single thing. It was very helpful when you said to make sure you always use spin for frozen things as the machine expect it to be soft for spin or mix in. I just adore all of your videos!

    I NEED MORE CONTAINERS! Kathy, this one looks like my favorite of all your Creami ice creams. Can't wait to try it with a few pecans and chocolate chips. Thank you so much for this recipe.

    This is a good video. I'm trying to decide whether to get one of these machines or not. I've been vegan for many years, but not so much WFPB. I'm trying to do better now.
    I like the camera work you do. For example, it was really nice that you did the different angle so we can see the top of the container as you closed it. Well done!
    I'm wondering if you have tried a smooth mix-in. For example, if I made a date paste that I wanted swirled in instead of fully mixed-in, would the mix-in feature work to you think? Have you tried it?

    I have a question: if you don't finish the container and you freeze it again...next time do you need to only do the respin or again the whole program? I used my creami for the first time yesterday and OH... it tasted SOOOO good 🙂

      Each time you take it out from the freezer you use the whole program. That's because it's frozen solid again. I hope that helps!

    Thanks for clarifying how to spin after the pint has been refrozen if only a portion has been eaten. ❤

    I'm going to try this. It is not cherry season here in Western Australia so I will use frozen cherries. I am guessing that they need to be thawed so they can be mashed. I bought my Ninja Creami yesterday and bought the deluxe model with a 700ml tub. Now I am sorry because I haven't been able to find any extra tubs to fit that model and I also realise the smaller tub size would be better for just the two of us. However, I made my first ice cream this evening - a banana, chocolate and soy milk mixture and it was delicious. I have smoothed the remainder over to spin again tomorrow. Thanks for the informative video.

      You can always make 2 cups in your 3 cup container, so remember that.
      Honestly, with frozen cherries I'd just pop the mixture in the blender!

      @@KathyHesterVeganRecipes Thank you. I wasn't sure if you could make a smaller batch. Doesn't it have to be filled up to the max fill line?

      @KathyHesterVeganRecipes  Місяць тому

      @@denisebrown3834 No, you do not have to fill to the max fill line. That's why you can respin leftovers!

    How do you use frozen cherries? Do they need to be thawed first or can you blend the mixture before placing it in the pint?

    • @KathyHesterVeganRecipes
      @KathyHesterVeganRecipes  Рік тому +3

      I blend my mixtures with whole fruit in the blender first to make it creamier and easier on the machine to process.

    I just saw on a keto site where they used Tara gum for their ice cream, and they said it was more creamy with less of the ice feel in your mouth, Have you tried Tara gum?
